  1. IF THE POWER OF CRAIG CANT MAKE THIS HAPPEN I DONT KNOW IF ANYTHING ELSE COULD~!!!!!!!
  2. can we start using CCR for Craig Counsell Rage? I am not sure Craig has any rage, he seems like a younger looking Ron in terms of that fire in the belly type yelling stuff, but I have high hopes for Craiggers.
  3. the major sports draft is interesting... NFL - must attend college for 2/3 years before declaring, but once declared, become ineligible for NCAA play (can they return if undrafted?) NBA - must attend college for 1 year before declaring, but can return to NCAA play if undrafted NHL - can be drafted right out of high school, rights are owned by franchise, but player can still play NCAA/international if drafted while committed to a school/country while being apart of a professional franchise MLB - can be drafted at any time, but maintains control of future and can turn down draft offer to go to/return to NCAA. I think thats a rather loose comparison of the major four... and I think the MLB draft structure is the worst of the four, but, in my opinion, is hands down the hardest league to break into the pros thanks to 4 leagues of minors you have to pass through.
  4. so is it more of getting them used to playing ball from April - October then?
  5. just wanted to ask... but after looking at players like Harrison (33K/60AB), Gatewood (25/56) and Munoz (17/50), are the coaches basically just telling them to swing away as much as possible to develop their swing/approach, or are they just thinking they can swing and hit pitches and missing? Seems like a pretty high K rate for those 3 in particular, and i wasnt sure if it was something they were struggling with, or if it was something the coaches said to just not worry about and just swing away? I feel like I read before that coaches in the low/RK level leagues do that on here?
  6. wow, thats awesome man, glad he came to you and was able to get deals like that!
  7. Ryan had a .863 OPS in the first half of last year. It wasn't 2011-era Braun performance, but I believe it's reasonable to think he can perform like that this year. I noted earlier his full-season WORST OPS prior to 2014 was .866 in 2010. So.. when do we resume the debate about moving Braun back to third base? Wouldn't that be much better to talk about??? http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2011/09/mind_blown.gif
  8. NOW THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! END THE MONTH ON A HIGH NOTE! CARRY IT IN TO MAY! GO 22-7 IN MAY!!! COME IN TO JUNE AT .500! THE REST IS HISTORY BABBBYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
  9. Easy to play armchair GM but we'd never know how he would do in Milwaukee with having Narron here. exactly
  10. the angels are still paying 72 million dollars Less than halfway through a five-year, $125 million contract, Hamilton was traded Monday by the Angels to their American League West rival for a player to be named or cash. The Angels and owner Arte Moreno, wanting to be rid of Hamilton, agreed to pay most of the remaining $80 million Hamilton is owed under the contract, which runs through 2017. .... Hamilton is owed $80.2 million for the remainder of his contract: $20,234,973 of this year's $23 million salary and $30 million in each of the final two seasons. Texas will pay under $7 million of what is owed to Hamilton, a person familiar with the trade said. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because that was not announced.. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12775283/josh-hamilton-traded-los-angeles-angels-texas-rangers
  11. this is what Braun faced in 2012, and every season after. So if you want to believe he was still using whatever in 2012 when he killed it... then I dont know what to tell you. A Player who is disciplined under Sections 7.A, 7.B, 7.C, 7.E, 7.F or 7.G, or has otherwise violated the Program through the use or possession of a Performance Enhancing Substance, Stimulant or DHEA, shall be subject to the following mandatory follow-up testing program, administered by the IPA: Performance Enhancing Substances: Six (6) unannounced urine collections and three (3) unannounced blood collections over the twelve (12) months following the violation that resulted in the follow-up testing, and six (6) unannounced urine collections and three (3) unannounced blood collections in every subsequent year in the Player’s career during which he is on a Club’s 40-man roster.
  12. Rangers only owe 7 million over 3 years, angels are paying the rest. Wow
  13. Why even bother speculating on contract language we will never see?
  14. ' Jeff Suppan's contract was the worst the franchise has ever had. If you can't see that as being truth you need to take your haterade tinted glasses off and re-examine some of the last decades contracts. Not true. Because while Suppan was a disaster, save his meh 2007, and remarkably ill advised signing at the time without second guessing, the Brewers were still able to put a good team on the field. Braun is in steep decline with absolutely NO sign of hope other than praying he will see 2012 again, and the big dollars haven't even started yet. His contract will cause the Brewers to make spending cuts elsewhere. If by "spending cuts" you mean letting Garza and Loshe walk? Then yes, you are "right".
  15. It is the worst contract in Brewers history and it isn't close. This is a really good board, and most can separate feelings of hurt as you say vs reality. And the reality is that Braun is not a very good player and he is on the hook for 5 more years + deferred money. What evidence is there that Braun will hit to anything even approaching 2012 again? He hasn't been an elite or even good player for 2013, 2014, and the start of 2015. ' Jeff Suppan's contract was the worst the franchise has ever had. If you can't see that as being truth you need to take your haterade tinted glasses off and re-examine some of the last decades contracts.
  16. Brauns first contract bought out every year of arbitration. He broke the team mid 2007 and signed an 8 year deal in May 2008, of which, 5 were all-star years, 1 NL MVP, 1 runner up MVP and a 3rd place MVP. He signed a 5 year extension on TOP of the 8 years in 2011, after the MVP season. His arbitration years would have been 2010 ($1M), 2011 ($4M), 2012 ($6M) and 2013 ($8.5M, Super 2 year). The Brewers saved so much money over those first couple years its just stupid. His stats and numbers would have broken records in terms of dollar amounts in arbitration, IMO.
  17. i'd opt out of the PCL, too, if I were a struggling RP trying to land an MLB club...
