  1. Only the Brewers seemingly thought that for very strange reasons. They gave up on him because Yelich and Cain were producing and by big-contract-default were playing Braun. They royally mishandled Santana and undervalued him to play or to trade after a terrific 2017 season! You really might be the only one to feel this way. Santana is still just an average player when you consider in everything that makes a baseball player. It’s really odd to me that you don’t see the value of Gamel. I know dingers are fun but there’s much more to the game. Also, here is the pitcher they obtained with Gamel. Good year he’s got going on.
  2. This is pretty much right on. Tough call but I said sell as well. Especially guys who won't be back. If anyone wants Cain in the off season I would pull the trigger. His deal is going to look gross the next 3 years. Yeah, I’d ride with an OF of: LF: Braun/Grisham CF: Gamel/Grisham RF: Yelich/Gamel And find maybe a 5th that can play OF/IF that’s right handed.
  3. Pomeranz is a free agent and Black, with 25 career MLB innings will be going on 30 and out of options. I knew Black was the throw in but trading for a rental that may not even be very good with one of your only prospects is just, wow.
  4. Didn’t we have a post show that our stats and record are damn sad the same against both hands?
  5. I didn’t know Pomeranz is a free agent after the season. Wow. We have to stop letting Stearns trade with SF. First we get robbed for Smith and now this move? Yikes.
  6. Nobody trades a fair value for catchers at the deadline and nobody needed a decent third basemen. Tampa, maybe, but we already probably overpaid for Faria so I doubt we get anything better by adding Moose. Buying a real SP upgrade would have cost Turang, Grisham, or young pitching. So we got some pieces for Dubon. That's something. I'm not happy with the team's performance this year, but I think Stearns has done a fine job (other than maybe giving DJ a big raise to keep him (if that would have indeed actually kept him). Selling was the move that would’ve took some guts after last seasons experience but it would’ve been the smart one. We missed it. Getting to watch an all star catcher and 3B finish third in the division are our consolation prize. I would’ve respected the hell out of Stearns for realizing what we are and trying to better us for a possible run next season.
  7. Agreed. Cut the fat (no pun intended) that won’t be here next season and try to find a mixture that will be.
  8. I think it’s because they have an actual starting rotation and a deep lineup. Their pen is questionable but what’s not is that they are the better, More talented team. Last year was nice but I thought the same thing then too. Momentum is a helluva drug.
  9. Should have sold. Am I right? You said this a page ago....Would have been a good spot for a guy like Houser had an arm been acquired at the deadline. But you do you, Stearns. No, he should NOT have sold, what he should have done is exactly what you said above...acquired an arm...or two or three. Thank god packer season is here. Yes, if he wasn’t going to sell, he should have bought.. anything. But this teams a stinker and that was my point in the sell thread. Could have at least gotten a few guys we could turn into currency in the off season. Being stuck in mediocreville is the worst thing he can do and he’s doing it.
  10. We should give Yelich a few days off I think. A day off wouldn’t hurt the guy right now. Hasn’t shown much power and is like 4 for his last 30. But hey, you do you and try to put words in people’s mouths.
  11. Starting to get the feeling that this team has quit or begun to. They see the writing on the wall with this roster as constructed.
  12. Would have been a good spot for a guy like Houser had an arm been acquired at the deadline. But you do you, Stearns.
  13. So your requested changes are sit Yelich and release Jeffress. Got it. Well, we are done here. No point in a discussion when you pull crap like this. Foolish man. You look foolish.
  14. I give you specifics and respond back with a long, long, long post asking for some. Amazing. Yes, possibly adding even just one more reliable bullpen arm helps this team that much. Jeffress isn’t reliable anymore. You made moves for guys, they should have been right here with us getting an opportunity. If reference to Grisham, ya, sit either one of those two if you had to bring him up. If you aren’t willing to do that, send him back down. Not too hard of a concept there. Hell, Yelich has slumped recently, give him a day off. Plenty of posts, including mine, have given many examples of possible fixes. Stearns has been reluctant to do anything other than a shuffle of the Jackson/Wilkerson/Barnes and whatever other turd we have rounding out the 40-man roster. Doing basically nothing isn’t working. Jolt the system a bit.
  15. Why not suspend from team until the court process takes place and allow him to still attend their school, even if it’s online. Why expel a kid that never had his day in court to prove his innocence? Innocent until proven guilty might be the biggest crock of you know what in our society. Guy was treated like a criminal and wasn’t one.
  16. My mistake for assuming your age. Came off that way in your response. I’ve been pro just about Stearns has decided to do but it’s simply not working. Shuffling up Wilkerson, again, is ridiculous when you traded for two other arms (using our top prospect and a MLB contributor) that are doing nothing for this team in the minors. I would send Jeffress out the door in a heartbeat. His option for next year should not even be considered. Thanks for helping get us to a post season a year ago but he stunk during the post season and he stinks now. Isn’t reliable enough. If you’re going to call up Grisham, play him. Otherwise continue to let him develop in AAA. I mean there have been injuries this year and it has affected things but there is a long list of just stupid stuff this year. Some of it is getting harder and harder to wrap my mind around and support this guy. Either way, my blood pressure is just fine. Just wish our GM wasn’t doing some of the things he is doing lately. Last year looking more and more like dumb luck than anything else.
  17. Here's your flurry! Milwaukee Brewers @Brewers · RHP Aaron Wilkerson has been recalled from Triple-A San Antonio. RHP Jay Jackson has been optioned there. So our deadline acquisitions stay in San Antonio in favor of AAAAron Wilkerson. Oh my. It’s no wonder why people have the mindset they do after following this team for decades.
