  1. If they weren't going to play Shaw, he would not have been called back up. It's on you if you thought he'd be riding the pines against a RHP.
  2. I think someone should ask clancyphile that question. How excited must he be right now, even just for a day? Laughing at all of us common folk.
  3. I think they view Gamel as a bench guy and I don't disagree. He is a great weapon to have later in games using him at the right times. [sarcasm]By the way, does anyone know who our backup SS is?[/sarcasm]
  4. What happens if we play it backwards? Worth a try.
  5. Well, I guess we need robot reporters too.
  6. You just described 95% of pitchers in MLB. As long as the Brewers (and all other teams) keep trotting out 5 man starting rotations, it's going to be difficult to find 5 guys who can pitch deep into games regularly. Given what's currently available to them, Houser is probably one of the 5 best equipped to fill the role. Yeah, I get that but I’m not talking 3 times through. I think he will eventually get hit hard the second time through. While his last start was great, I doubt many of the A’s have seen him.
  7. It is just a way to refocus and flush the previous pitch. Some of it has gotten out of hand but that is really all it is.
  8. Just curious what you don't like about Houser? He seems like a guy with a plus-fastball and a decent curveball, which at the very least should put him in consideration for an important bullpen role for the next several years for the league minimum salary. He also, like Woodruff, gets a lot of groundballs and even though it seems like he's been around forever, he's still only 26. At this point, he seems like his floor is solid middle reliever, but his ceiling could be great setup man or solid mid-rotation starter. What's not to like? I like his stuff out of the pen more because I feel as though he is a guy that will have trouble getting guys out multiple times. As I said, I could be way off here but he seemed like a great addition to the pen as a 2-inning type of a guy.
  9. I'm just surprised that the Dbacks didn't go all-in with their sell-off and trade Robbie Ray and a few other pieces. Might as well grab as many prospects as they can and "tank" to build again.
  10. Man, Braun comes off as a selfish jerk with how he talks about Aguilar. Always thinking about himself. *Does this need to be in blue?
  11. Honestly, Hernan Perez would be a better option for us.
  12. I hope Lyles and Houser become great rotation pieces for us but I just am not a believer of Houser. Not that I am all in on Lyles either but Houser just screams bullpen to me. Hopefully, I am dead wrong and both of those guys continue to give us the five innings or they have given us the past two nights. In regard to Davies and Anderson, the talent is there. It was them putting the pieces back together for us. It also shows that from one year to another (Chacin) it can mean diddly poo because these guys are so volatile. That's why a team like the Brewers need to continue to focus on rotational depth every year.
  13. Have we ever had a roster with 10 former first-round selections? 1st Round Draft Picks: 1. 14. Doesn't matter when he was drafted. It's all about major league service time relative to age. Gotcha. I thought it had to do with how long he was a pro ball player.
  15. Wasn’t Grisham drafted in 2015, two years before Hiura? I don’t think we are running into Super Two issues with him.
  16. Hiura 1 for 11 with 5 K’s and a walk since this song emerged.
  17. I would agree with this year’s ago. I think he’s a changed guy. I believe he’s a rock in that clubhouse and has helped connect a lot of those players together. Even today as the world was falling over who we acquired here was Braun on Brewers' moves today: "I think our front office deserves the benefit of the doubt. They’ve been so successful in their short time here. ... They’ve done a phenomenal job of putting us back in the position we’ve been in the past couple of years very quickly."
  18. Careful. I don't want to you get flamed like I did. Here I'll pull the attention onto me. Braun has been the 4th best hitter at best in this lineup all year. Yet he bats 3rd. Vs RHP its 5th... lately 6th. He still bats 3rd. He is capable of plate discipline and for some reason swings at crap like Perez for bouts of time. When he actually waits for a pitch to hit he gets hot. Guy seems like a primadonna frankly. Guy lives in your brain, rent free, just the way he likes it.
  19. Spoken like a true Ryan Braun fan After that first pitch chopped to SS on a curve I’m rethinking it.
