  1. First of all, this post didn't age well. Second of all, how can you say they hadn't "poured it on"? They scored 2 in the first, 4 in the second, and 2 more in the third. Im pretty sure thats the definition of pouring it on. [sarcasm]Yes, but a goose egg in the 4th.[/sarcasm]
  2. [sarcasm]Anyone see Arcia just jogging around those bases? It’s like he doesn’t even want to be good at this game.[/sarcasm]
  3. Moose should’ve bunted. I’m not a huge bunter but a chance to make it 3-0 early would have been very nice.
  4. The depth is great because it allowed us not to rush him. Be patient.
  5. First, I just wanted to say Rodgers and MM both deserve some kudos for keeping all this private. Even after MM firing Rodgers didn't throw him under the bus. Publicly, they supported each other. For that matter, all their coaches, players, etc. did a great job of keeping it in the locker room. Regarding McCarthy, there's plenty of evidence to suggest he's not (and wasn't) a very good football coach. Coaching is managing people, and he failed miserably managing the team's most important player. Even putting that aside, he passed himself off as an offensive guru when he really had nothing to add to the WCO. I've heard these stories over the last few years about opponents knowing the plays, routes, etc. Poor at adjusting as the game goes on, no interest in the defensive side of the ball or ST. Now we hear he skipped meeting before a game. (I'll even give him the benefit of a doubt on that one, as we don't know the details.) Can we really blame Rodgers if all this is true? Look at your own job. If you knew what needs to be done in your company or dept, but you have a boss that has no clue how does that make you feel? Yea, Rodgers is an odd duck, and I believe he is sensitive, driven by past slights, etc. but so what? If that's what motivates him, fine by me. No matter what is said, the people who feel MM wasn't a good coach will still feel that way. I just don't believe you have the success he had without being a good head coach in the NFL. It just doesn't add up to me. For the rest of your stuff on Rodgers, all you are doing is giving him a pass in his part of this entire mess of shenanigans.
  6. For me, it will be how they look on the field. If they're getting smack around with an 0-2 start, yeah, he should feel the heat.
  7. The worst part of the whole stuff is that guys like Jennings and Finley finally get the attention they've been craving since they played for the Packers. Rodgers is probably a prick. It shouldn't shock anyone. But he's far from the first great QB to be one. McCarthy had his faults as well. He was a good football coach that doesn't deserve this utter crap that is being aired out right now. Could they have won more SB's? Sure, maybe. But so many things have to go right for them to happen. Saying they should have been NE over the past 15 years is just stupid. There is a reason that there has only been one team to have the success that NE is having.
  8. Agree, we don’t HAVE TO trade for anyone right now, but it would be nice to have one more experienced high leverage arm in our pen. But I would also imagine the price to be sky high for said arm. Which is why you don't do it. It makes zero sense right now. You stand pat and continue to get what you can out of guys that you seem to really undervalue.
  9. ...why do we have to trade for anyone right now? Don't worry, I'll answer it. We don't. Stearns is in a great spot with his team playing good baseball, leading the division, and a big reason for that early on is his pitching.
  10. I’ve been on this train for awhile. Buying himself time.
  11. I used to be in this camp, and it's not just the Packers. Same goes for Brewers/Bucks coverage. But I have come to know a couple sports reporters in recent years, and they have a good point. They do hear things, know things, etc. that are newsworthy but negative to player or coach. If they report that, word gets around and they get frozen out. If you can't do your job, you don't have a job. So it is a fine line. On top of this great point we live in the era that people think they NEED to know every single thing about their teams players. Their person lives, locker room stuff, etc... It’s gotten out of hand in many ways.
  12. That article was amusing in ways and sad in others. What a bunch of boneheads.
  13. If Freddy can find a way to be average when he’s not on, he’s going to have a tremendous career. I suppose you could say that about a lot of folks but when Peralta is on, whoa.
  14. Well-done Brewers! SWEEEEEEEEEEP! Peralta to Wilson is just how you draw it up. Bring on Chicago!
  15. I wouldn't be against it. He's young and the 100 pitch "limit" stuff is just ridiculous to me. Have a conversation about how he is feeling and make the call.
  16. I don't know how hard he works on his preparation, but I know he didn't work very hard on that grounder to Iglesias. Yeah, the lack of hustle on that play should be criticized. The rest, yikes.
  17. I get being frustrated with Arcia and his lack of production over the last calendar year but the comments of judging his work ethic based on how he plays the game are just so, so, wrong. You think because he is loose and has fun with his teammates that he doesn't work hard? What a terrible way to judge a person at any job placement especially a guy playing baseball. What a truly awful, horrific take by some. Side note: Peralta is working his way towards his own "crow served" thread. Love the game he is throwing today.
  18. We wouldn’t. Not sure why we’ve made a big deal out of this around here.
  19. It’s 17 at bats. Which is why i was citing his career numbers in the discussion about him. Yeah, plenty of players have begun their careers in the mid .600’s for an OPS. HOF’er and Brewers legend, Robin Yount is one of them. Guy was a bad hitter to start. Got experience and grew as a player. Hopefully Arcia does the same.
  20. I mean, the guy is still 1 for 17 so it doesn't really change anyone's point. Obviously the 1 was in a very big situation which obviously everyone is happy about. It’s 17 at bats.
