  1. Miley, Chacin, Anderson, Guerra, Peralta, Woodruff give us 6 to count on. Maybe wishful thinking that they can all make their hypothetical scheduled starts the rest of the season. Injuries have impacted half of them and Peralta is entering unchartered waters here in August and September. Exciting to see how this starting staff will evolve the next couple of months plus post season. We may need another guy to come on board to deal with possible attrition. Don’t forget about Davies. He’s almost back. For me, I’m actually liking that it’s a rag tag bunch of forgottens. Hopefully they continue to shut people up marching towards a playoff spot.
  2. HIGHLY doubtful... It's not the way CC rolls. Glad he doesn’t. We’ll just keep winning games doing it the Brewer way.
  3. Saladino would be wise to pull up lame if he gets in the game. Collect that big league check a little while longer.
  4. Not here.... still liked him over other guys sent packin (Miller, Villar, Saladino soon). When it comes to the nerd, and CC's love for him, never say never... It’s over. That transaction should be put on the highlight reel. What a relief that was when they finally took that 40 man spot from him.
  5. Yep agreed. And so far he has been right in his assessments. Starting pitching hasn’t been the problem.
  6. He's played a couple games in his career at short. He's basically been locked in at 2nd his entire career. But played SS a bunch in the minors.
  7. I agree with this assessment. Stearns is too attached to his prospects. I don't know how you can say that without even knowing who they gave up. And the fact that he has shipped plenty of prospects in his short time as a GM. Just throwing a fit.
  8. 4 guys for two positions. Moose/Shaw vs RH starter, Schoop/Villar vs LH starter I'd rather have Shaw in the lineup than Villar against lefties. Then you probably wouldn’t be a very good manager. The numbers tell you otherwise.
  9. The Reds not getting what they can for him makes little sense.
  10. People want offense, Stearns is giving you offense.
  11. I don’t get this take. They should hold onto those arms.
  12. The Pirates are a bunch of fools. So glad we have Stearns.
  13. Sarcasm doesn't negate the point that it's a lot easier to make a deal today than tomorrow... (setting aside the time crunch) I’d rather make no deals than a deal Stearns isn’t comfortable making. It’ll serve us better as a franchise. Pitching hasn’t been our issue. It’d be a cherry on top if we can swing it.
  14. Gausman isn’t any good. We are fine without him.
  15. Dozier has been terrible this year.
  16. Oh I didn’t know they couldn’t improve their rotation after today...
  17. Extremely rare! For your reasoning and mine... That's why I said, "Marlins aren't dealing with the Brewers so soon after the Yelich trade"... But you said it in terms of a GM being too upset after the first trade. It’s just not probably what happens between these GMs. They’re out to get the best package they feel is right. If the Marlins actually are shopping him, which doesn’t sound to actually be happening, than the Brewers could get him if they offer the best package.
  18. Before Davies: Chacin Anderson Gonzales Guerra Miley/Peralta After Davies: Chacin Anderson Gonzales Guerra Davies This could work. Is it a dream rotation? No. But it’s good enough to get to our pen.
  19. Chacin or Anderson would be just fine. Man people are dramatic.
  20. How does it work GM? My opinion is that the Marlins might be gun shy dealing with the Brewers so soon after a trade with not the best results on 3 of the 4 prospects (yet).... human nature. Since you had two responses to me, even though one is condescending, I’ll respond. You speak on human nature but only give one side of it. Maybe the Marlins GM is actually ticked about the Yelich trade and wants to try to do better this to around? Gamblers addiction syndrome. These guys all have pride and maybe he wants it back. And if that silliness isn’t enough... It could just be that the Brewers offer him a package of players that he thinks will help their rebuild and they make a deal, you know, because he has a job to do.
  21. I don’t think I realized how good Derek Holland has been this year. His peripherals are solid and he is striking out just over a batter an inning as a starter. Good for him to get things turned around heading into free agency this off-season. If the Giants really are dealing McCutchen I have to assume they would move Holland as well. Soria was never mentioned so I tried to find a starter who I have never seen mentioned. Nothing else behind it.
  22. This will be like when they think a huge snow storm is coming and they cancel school but it ends up with a few flurries and mostly sunny. Parents will be on social media all day calling the superintendent a moron for doing it and the superintendent will release a response saying he did it in the best interest of the students, staff and families of the district.
