  1. If we are trading three players for a second basemen it better be for Altuve. What the hell are we doing here...
  2. Come Wednesday... do it! C: Nottingham, Pina 1B: Thames, Aguilar 2B: Villar, Miller SS: Miller, Saladino 3B: Shaw LF: Braun CF: Cain RF: Santana, Phillips
  3. By default the Bucks just got better.
  4. Another home run for Nottingham today Stearns is getting a bit silly.
  5. Santana and Phillips should be up. Both of them.
  6. Boy I’d hate to see your thoughts if this team was let’s say 5 games over .500.
  7. Worse defender, don't forget to mention that. Who's spinning the numbers? .201 last year, right? .240 career avg with below avg defense? That's way better than Sogard? Maybe it's just the glasses that are bothering you.... Batting .260 this year with pop as if batting average is the end all. So now you want to use career numbers prove a point? -Average- Miller -OBP- Miller (hell yes, even your talking point about Sogard gets beat here.) -Slugging- Miller See a trend? Lol, Sogard probably was a better defender over his career (one that has went on for far too long) but he’s absolutely trash this season and you might be the only one who doesn’t see that. He has hurt this team. He needs to go like two months ago. Miller over his career has been a good player just about every season. He’s done well so far in a short period of time. Jump on the bandwagon already...
  8. 7 of his 10 dingers this year have come in wins. And over 200 of his 300+ have come in wins in his career. And only 2 of his homers were in the 9th inning this season, the other being a basically game winner in San Diego.
  9. You’re going to have to get used to it. Counsell has stated clearly that he needs days off.
  10. Hernan Perez is a starting OF for us right now. How bad is Brett Phillips? He should bring back a heck of a return.
  11. Imo their biggest problem. He's gotten away with it mostly because of people incorrectly attributing pitching success to him. So how long do we have to have the pitching stink before that corrects itself? This position just seemed flat out ignored by Stearns. Or he’s just not good at evaluating it.
  12. Manny Pina is a big part of this teams problems. He’s just not very good and we don’t seem to care to fix it. Does he have options left?
  13. Uh, we have a lead in the division. It's July. The Cubs are in 2nd place. So, you're saying for fans to concede the division and some Miller Park Cubs tickets (good money, though)? I prefer trying, caring, and believing a bit more. No, that's not the point. The point is it's totally pointless to scoreboard watch in July much less hang on every single Cubs game. Exactly. We can win the division. Will we? Who knows. But there’s 80 games left. And I pointed out that the Cubs are better because they are. There is a strong chance we fight for a wild card. It’s olay to be realistic about things too. We have the optimism thread to get all that unrealistic stuff out of our veins. And Rick, your post is exactly why I keep coming at ya about how crappy Sogard is. You’re just too ridiculous with what you post at times.
  14. I’d take you serious if you didn’t rely only on Sogards 100 at bats last season. I’d take you even more seriously if you didn’t only use Miller’s outlier season last year. You cherry pick for your agenda. -Miller is freaking 100 points better for an OPS over his career. (.725 vs .624) -Miller OPS+ 102 vs. Sogard 74 in their careers. -Miller has a .5 WAR versus Sogards -.8 WAR... THIS SEASON -Over the past 365 days Miller is OPS’s 200 points more. They might both be bench guys but only one belongs in the majors right now and it ain’t Sogard. Salindino will hopefully take care of that. Foolish stuff man. Really...
  15. [sarcasm]Shaw wasn’t playing in enough.[/sarcasm]
  16. You guys really have to stop checking in on the Cubs and letting it bother you. It’s July and yes, they are a better ball club than we are. Begin to deal with that a bit.
  17. If Miller isn’t a SS than either is Sogard.
  18. Brewers and Reds will resume at 2:40 p.m. CT. Per twitter
  19. From the man that got after me for just wanting a hit the other night, this was hard to read. Lots of game left. Pen is in really rough shape right now and we play 21 games in 20 days with none off until the AS break. 'The other night' we were down 1 run, not 3, at home, and still had a healthy Cain and Yelich. Just saying to get the entire day off for the pen in this brutal long stretch for a game we have probably a 10% chance of winning at the moment, would not be the worst thing in the world. Wilkerson could finish this game if we never sniff competing in it otherwise Hader, Jeffress and Knebel are all fresh if we do.
  20. From the man that got after me for just wanting a hit the other night, this was hard to read. Lots of game left.
  21. Looking at the radar it doesn’t look like it’ll last.
  22. Want to take this back? What Peralta did after that horrendous first inning as a 21-year old is very impressive.
