  1. Can’t get mad at Thames. He’s not an outfielder.
  2. Plus Nick Ramirez can hit. He and Suter could give better at bats than half our bench.
  3. I’d go: Yelich- CF Braun- RF Thames- LF Aguilar- 1B Miller- SS Villar- 2B Perez- 3B Pina- C Guerra- P
  4. Part of me wants to see them trade Peralta, Burnes, and Hiura away and watch the tears roll down the faces of our fan base as they still cry about not being able to develop talent.
  5. The pitchers massively over performaned with Vogt and they have with Kratz. Maybe it’s just the pitchers. Pina is a backup. Nottingham to the rescue.
  6. Say they go 1-3, are we knocked out of the playoffs? Bad stretches occur for every team. Just gotta fight through them if you want to find yourself in the playoffs.
  7. Agree completely. That counseling we’ve been attending is working out nicely. This is my feeling on this as well. Attack with numbers. Young controlled players for many seasons.
  8. Toss in the fact that he’s going to get a lot more expensive starting next season.
  9. If only Broxton could play infield as well as outfield.
  10. Even if Nottingham is equal to Pina, which wouldn’t be too hard to do, that’s fine. Nottingham is hopefully the future and has done well enough in AAA to warrant a look. No need to add Bethancourt to the 40 man when Nottingham is staring right at your face.
  11. If you could get him and it was gaurenteed that he opted out after the season, fine. Otherwise the move doesn’t make much sense to me.
  12. Oh my. I just realized that I am extremely happy you are not our GM. I would not give just ONE of any of the 8 players you just mentioned. Not even ONE of them even up for Dietrich. Seconded.
  13. The first “gamble” should be to keep Miller in at shortstop. If the D is okay, his bat will be a big spark to that position. The second “gamble” should be handing the catching duties off to Nottingham after the all star break and seeing if he can be a spark at that position. And come mid-August if these other two things aren’t doing enough for the offense, the third “gamble” should be bringing up Hiura if Villar is still struggling to hit over a .700 OPS. And this should really only happen if Hiura continues to scorch minor league pitching and playing adequate defense.
  14. Villar isn’t playing short. They’ve made that clear.
  15. Shortstop of the future I was told. He and Hiura will be up the middle for years to come.
  16. You just don’t keep the pace the Brewers were on. Some people’s expectations need to get a bit more realistic.
  17. He has the opportunity to hit his way into the lineup. That part is on him.
  18. Cocaine is a helluva drug. Machado ain't signing here long term and the Brewers aren't doing it either.
  19. This is the silly stuff that causes fights. Yeah, everyone gets it. The Brewers are playing great baseball. Stearns has done one heck of a job (along with Melvin) on creating winning baseball with this organization. That doesn’t take away discussion on what could possibly make them better. It’s a discussion board. There can be people on both sides of this.
  20. The Brewers really need to start hyping their top lower level minor leaguers more. Any time the Brewers are mentioned in a prospective trade, they are giving up players who are on the cusp of the Major League Roster, or are already on it. Other teams trade off prospects that are in A+ or below all the time for MLB pieces, though. I have to think that, even though other MLB teams know what the Brewers have at the lower levels, a little hype on those guys may help increase their value, especially to the fanbase of a team that just traded off a star player. I just don’t know how the Brewers would do this as it seems like something controlled more by the media than anything. We definitely do get the shaft on some of that coverage. I do question how much other GMs pay attention to that stuff though. All I know is I would rather trade away let’s say a Zach Davies right now than a Freddy Peralta. And I know that doesn’t get your deGrom or whoever else but maybe it’s the start of a package of players? Or maybe we target someone other than someone who has established themselves as a TOR guy? I don’t know. Just know we are in a good position (finally) with our own talent.
  21. Just doesn’t seem like a real smart play for the Brewers to trade away MLB talent, especially pitching.
