  1. Saladino is at least a good shortstop. Sogard stinks with that noodle arm three hoppin it to first base.
  2. I think this would be amazing in so many ways. Other than onfield production...
  3. More subjective decisions to the umpire? No thank you.
  4. We have two young catchers at AAA and a guy recently drafted at 2B that is raking no matter where you place him. We just aren’t using them right now. Kinda wish we would.
  5. Who do you suggest takes their place? You have Villar at 2B who is better than any option we have. Really the only thing that probably needs to be done is just put Miller at SS and be done with it. Miller-Villar should be stable enough offensively up the middle.
  6. If he was actually hitting, sure maybe bring him up. Since he's struggling, in Colorado Springs no less... it's a no. He should've been traded this off season as well as Santana. But we don't know if there was any serious offers for them so it's just what I wanted more than anything.
  7. Couldn't find the spray chart myself but wanted to share because like the twitter account says, this is a thing of beauty. Keston Hiura Spray Chart - All 94 Hits
  8. Villar played shortstop in 2016. It didn’t work out for him at that position and he’s playing second base now. A position that he’s grading out well at THIS season. So using it for your hate is simply silly. Did he have base running blunders in 2016? Yep. Is he having them in 2018? NOPE. At least not anymore than the other guys on our team. And the final thing I’ll mention. Has Villar ever been as bad as Sogard is right now? NOPE! It’s simply nuts that this is even defensible to want Sogard to start over a guy that’s probably playing at about league average for second basemen. Could he better? Sure he could. But Villar has held his own and probably will until Hiura is ready to go. Unless we find a rental...
  9. Counsel was right, if 2 guys dont produce, then nobody does. But it doesnt help that sogard is batting. And if the starters struggle with their command like they did the past three games and don't give you quality starts, then the chances of winning are slim. I’ll take 1 run over 5 innings over 3 runs in 6 innings any day.
  10. Eric Sogard is 100% a product of the "good old boy" system. Someone high up with some clout in the organization loves the guy and wants him here badly. Stearns? Counsell? Mark A? Someone else? I have no idea, but someone. Because of that they're giving him every possible chance to stick here. Boone Logan had no such relationship in the organization, Sogard does. Remember, as a veteran, Sogard didn't have to accept a minor league assignment. So I'm guessing he was talked to and told, "Look, we've got to make this move right now. We have to. But it's just temporary. The first chance we have, first injury, we are getting you back up here." And they did. Remember, Sogard did absolutely nothing in Colorado Springs to earn a trip back up. He continued to stink it up there. That's not to say Sogard is untouchable. He's not. It's still a business, and at some point you can't dodge the tough decision any longer. But he's been given a tremendously longer leash than he would be given anywhere else. What do you think the odds are that if the Cubs had signed Sogard to a 1 year, $2.4M deal, that he would still be on their 25 man right now? **** This is all, obviously, and hopefully this goes without saying, my opinion and take, and can't be proven or disproven. I don’t believe you’re wrong in anything you just stated.
  11. The thing that ticks me off with today’s game is allowing Weaver to get six innings in after making him throw 50+ pitches in the first two innings. Edit: 5 2/3
  12. Keep the tag on. This isn’t something new. Damnit. Nice throw Braun.
  13. So stupid that Shaw was playing. Now he might be hurt worse.
  14. I’m not sure there’s a better defensive left fielder in the game. Nice catch Braun!
  15. Okay, take Shaw outta there already. The wrist is obviously bothering him.
  16. Orlando Arcia. [sarcasm]Totally unnecessary.[/sarcasm]
  17. Go to Cardinals’ forum, exact same sentiment being expressed about their team. There’s a reason Molina has been behind the dish all four games. He knows this is important.
  18. Damn. Just down on the bat a bit or that’s a goner too.
