  1. I don't know if we should bank that much on Thames either. He is 31 years old, often injured and sure is streaky himself.
  2. RWeeksFan23 - I love the clap back. It was perfectly written. Cheers!
  3. Is there anything to this and him not going to DL or just making a joke? CBS doesn't mention anything, still says DL likely [sarcasm]Source BrewersWorld and HighHeat19[/sarcasm]
  4. The Dodgers have to think about blowing it up, don't they? I mean, they'll never be in rebuild but their roster is full of holes.
  5. Braun woke up today and said the back is aye okay. He said to not worry guys, he'll be in the 3-spot this weekend.
  6. Because the offensive woes have nothing to with Braun, I suppose? Even though he's literally below everyone else on the team in oWAR except Sogard and Arcia? Bantering back and forth about a trade that didn't happen two years ago is flat out annoying. It is what it is... move on. Getting hung up on it now is pretty silly to me. But discussing Braun as a part of the offensive woes is perfectly fine and is what the thread was all about. The rest is a bunch of trash littering this thread because a couple posters are ticked they didn't get their way a couple of years ago.
  7. Yeah, I don't think anyone really thought this was realistic at this point. But there is a lot of time before July 31st and the Diamondbacks are reeling and lost some key players.
  8. The thread is officially hijacked. Fun stuff.
  9. Greinke is owed roughly $115 million over the next 3.75 years for his services (age 34-37). It is hard to not want a guy that will give you 200 innings of work with a mid 3 ERA and a low WHIP but it is also hard to toss that money at a guy in his age. He has been so consistent his entire career so it is really hard not to be intrigued.
  10. Right there with ya. I want the Brewers to be patient but if it is an option between Woodruff and Peralta to go down, right now it should be Woodruff. Peralta shouldn't go anywhere for now, agreed. To me its between Woodruff and Guerra. If it is that, it should be an even bigger no brainer. Guerra has thrown the ball well for the crew and with his options thing, if he's not sent down, he will retain an option for next season (I believe).
  11. Right there with ya. I want the Brewers to be patient but if it is an option between Woodruff and Peralta to go down, right now it should be Woodruff.
  12. I am amazed that you are amazed. Braun is a not very good player making a lot of money. Trading him would have been an excellent thing for the franchise. Time to move on. It's been beaten to death already.
  13. Keep wanting to believe in Woodruff. Going to take time I suppose but I really hope they give an extended look at Peralta over Woodruff at this point.
  14. I am amazed at how much this is even discussed.
  15. 3-0 is a great start... now keep adding to it and run away with one for a change.
  16. I'll take him starting game one out of the all-star break.
  17. Since Rodgers could throw Richard Rodgers open and if it is a one-year deal for a lower salary the Packers should be all over it. Just the red zone threat alone would be great. It also would shove those new rookies down a peg and let them get their feet wet a bit slower.
  18. Wonder if the Padres would want Jett Bandy + a real low level prospect in return for Raffy Lopez.
  19. What they really need is for Thames to get back into this lineup, giving a better 1B platoon option and providing more LH power with a good approach at the plate - regardless of whether the RH side is Aguilar or Braun. Thames is definitely missed but he's hurt for a while. So that isn't changing.
  20. I'm optimistic that he will be a good player for us down the road but he needs to start hitting RHP better in order to move up. It is still very early and small samples but so far the return on that has not been great.
  21. Waiting for one more game isn't a big deal as the other two have passed. Aguilar is already beginning his trend backward. It won't be much longer now and his numbers will really reflect what he is. Santana still isn't hitting with any authority. I am good with them holding out to see if Braun will be ready for the weekend. We will disagree I'm sure, but this team needs Braun to figure it out and become steady again. It may be essential for this offense help this team be a contender.
  22. we need his DH bat against Minny Ah I missed that in the schedule in the discussion yesterday on DLing Braun now to let him reset. Good guess that the DH coming is definitely a factor in not doing it. Yes, good point. It changes my opinion on it. If he's iffy today but they think he will be ready for the weekend, then fine don't DL him. If he can't even DH this weekend, he better hit the DL.
  23. If Braun isn't going to play today or isn't available, just 10-Day DL him and get another OF up here so we don't have to see Bandy take another meaningful at-bat.
  24. Right now he has an overall OPS of .762 in the majors but his slash line against RHP's is .261/.370/.522/.892 (Small sample alert, only 23 AB's) but his 2017 split against RHP is .256/.340/.558/.898 (43 AB's). His minor league split this year is .271/.358/.644/1.002 (59 AB's) and last year was .306/.379/.561/.939 (157 AB's).
  25. 3 for 19 with a walk from our top five doesn’t cut it. Greinke got a larger plate but these guys just need to do better.
