  1. Is batting Arica 8th partly the reason for lack of growth? Mentioned above that he should be patient and get walks as an 8th place hitter but I see it as about the exact opposite. A lot of the times you are expanding your zone so that you don't get to that spot in the order for certain reasons.
  2. At this point, I might be okay with giving up Hiura in the right deal. Not sure that'd be for Realmuto but if that guy really cannot play 2B, we might as well get something in return.
  3. Guess that needed to be in blue. Arica isn’t and shouldn’t be going anywhere.
  4. I already mentioned packaging him and Suter together. We could probably get Machado.
  5. What's Garrett Cooper doing these days?
  6. Perhaps an extreme comparison, just saying there's a reason Villar hasn't appeared at SS since 2016. Yeah I think it’s a mistake by the Brewers in doing so. When Arcia is out, he should be sliding over to short. Not inserting a bum like Sogard.
  7. Villar can play SS nearly the same way Braun "can" play 3B Awful comparison. Villar can competently play SS...not well, but lightyears better than Braun at 3B. If his bat was 2016 version scouts didn’t have much issue with Villar at SS. Interesting enough that he started not hitting when being asked to flip positions. Might be a morning burger but ya never know. And I agree. Awful comparison.
  8. You don't get those guys in trades for your valuable trade pieces. That's where you sign scrubs like Nieuwenhuis types to fill that spot until a prospect or someone comes along. Yes you do. There’s nothing stopping us from trying to win right now and in the future. Shaw and Anderson can both be used for other players in the gutter AND they can help us win right now. You just don’t like that type of an approach but it definitely can be done. I for one am glad they are going this route.
  9. Do we have a different Santana other than the one named Domingo? The one that over the last 14 days is OPS'ing over 1.000? The one that seems to be heating up a bit and actually playing an okay RF? Color me confused.
  10. If you told me yesterday afternoon that we'd split a 2 game series with Suter and Guerra starting against Kluber and Carrasco...I'd be pretty thrilled. Great point. It is easy for us to be so negative because they are giving us a ton of reasons to be but they are still in the mix for most wins in the NL. Hopefully, this will get turned around and we'll all have a good laugh about all the stuff we have said about these guys.
  11. I feel like Villar has had some good at-bats, seeing 5-7 pitches a crack but it always seems like it still ends in a K. Ends up swinging through something. It is just so strange.
  12. You can have a philosophy but if you don't coach to that philosophy, or find players that fit that philosophy, then you get the putrid swing for the fence (or should just say swing and miss) offense that we have been seeing. There is a disconnect somewhere in the organization.
  13. I wanted to see: 1. Santana 2. Cain 3. Yelich 4. Braun/Aguilar 5. Shaw 6. Villar 7. Pina 8. Arica But we most likely won't.
  14. You can't expect each and every game to be a low scoring game. Guerra will be fine for us but he's going to, along with others, give up runs from time to time. But right now, we have no offense so these types of games you might as well chalk up a loss.
  15. I like it. If Realmuto is too expensive, Perez would be a fine get for this team. Pushing Pina into a backup role would be a a great thing for us.
  16. It’ll be Sogard and they’ll give us some dumb reason like it was just easier or some crap like that.
  17. Brewers should go trade for Starlin Castro and Realmuto and end this madness of having a lousy offense.
  18. Now 3-4 ... and he started at SS. Yeah but he’s right handed so there’s no way he could come up and help us win ball games.
  19. Why do you think this? TV pitch track and my phone app had it hitting plenty of the plate.
  20. Arcia has looked better over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully he starts turning the corner a bit and becomes a bit more patient as well. Going to need Pina to come through with a big two-out hit. Wouldn’t mind seeing Aguilar pinch hit.
