  1. I wonder if the Brewers would ever consider something like this because of the Wisconsin connection. It might be fun for the fans down in Arizona to have Wilson around for a bit.
  2. The Red Sox probably don't want to deal with Stearns anymore after last years raking. Half kidding.
  3. Comments like these never make sense. Do you really think that Stearns isn't looking to upgrade every position that he can? I'm guessing he has feelers out for every single position on the team. It is exactly why the Cain transaction happened. It just happened to work out. We have Pina, Vogt, and I guess Bandy. If there is a guy out there that can be had and that is in their price range (money or prospects), Stearns will pull the trigger on it. People are so focused on adding a starting pitcher, which we can all agree that we need, that they don't realize that these GM's don't work that way. At least not a bright and focused one like Stearns.
  4. Has he been heard or seen since the end of the season?? I thought I read or saw something that said he needs/needed surgery or something. I am probably confusing him with someone else, but if I wasn't lazy I would just give it a quick google search. EDIT: According to a yahoo article he is indeed needing surgery. Apparently he pitched through major shoulder issues last year. What a terrible guy!
  5. I guess I just figured we have them. We have Gallardo, Guerra, and Suter who all fill that role (hopefully well). LOCKS: 1. Anderson 2. Davies 3. Chacin 4 & 5: Woodruff Suter Gallardo Suter Wilkerson Plus if we do end up signing a free agent or trading for someone, there is only so much room.
  6. agent39, I know you are frustrated with what has taken place this offseason but I am curious if you have thoughts on if you think it was sustainable with the huge contracts that have been taking place over the last decade? I know you want to see your clients get the most possible and that these billionaire owners have lots and lots of money, but were we getting to the point where it just wasn't possible to keep handing out $20-$30 million dollar contracts to players? Especially some players who are not elite? Or players that are in their 30's and now without using HGH or other supplements, have trouble staying healthy enough or productive to earn those contracts? Like I mentioned earlier, I know you are frustrated but at some point, these massive contracts had to come to a halt to some extent, didn't they? (and that is not because I'm pro-billionaire lol)
  7. I think Matt Garza is still available.
  8. They’ll give an extra year because their pitcher will miss a couple weeks of the season? Is this really how GM’s operate?
  9. Especially when watching Vogt's defense last year.. ick. Vogt is on a non-guaranteed contract and has said he's specifically working on improving his throwing this offseason. I like the idea of him and Bandy competing for the backup job. Don't discount Vogt's additional value as a lefty hitting catcher. That left handed bat only matters if he can out slug a right handed option. But if the trade off for it is lousy defense, no thanks. He looked cooked last year.
  10. Is there a relocation fee?
  11. That thread is gone why are you posting here to ruin another thread. Feel free to PM me and I will be happy to talk about this topic with you. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vQPa2bHpYLI/TfDHS529U0I/AAAAAAAAB-I/jfpWrFrRMXg/s1600/pot_kettle.jpg
  12. The above stats really have me questioning Vogt's place on this team.
  13. Lucroy: 2017- vs. RHP: .272/.355/.386/.741 vs. LHP: .243/.317/.327/.644 Career- vs. RHP: .279/.343/.421/.764 vs. LHP: .288/.343/.471/.814 _________________________ Vogt: 2017- vs. RHP: .237/.290/.442/.732 vs. LHP: .200/.242/.267/.509 Career- vs. RHP: .259/.319/.435/.754 vs. LHP: .214/.266/.328/.593 _________________________ Pina 2017- vs. RHP: .275/.324/.445/.769 vs. LHP: .287/.333/.372/.706 Career- his career was basically last year so I used his 2016 AAA stats vs. RHP: .309/.387/.492/.879 vs. LHP: .292/.333/.372/.725
  14. If Lucroy came with a 2yr deal at this point, I am all in favor of making him the starter. He can catch 100 games and Pina can catch the other 60. Pina, to me, is the biggest regression candidate that we have. I am not sold on him catching 100+ games for us and doing it well. Defensively, he seems pretty legit but that bat will probably regress. A Lucroy-Pina combo would be pretty fun as long as the front office feels Lucroy has something in the tank.
  15. Last season he led our team in 3-point shooting percentage.
  16. Trice and King going out kept this team out of the top 6 (at least) of a really bad Big Ten conference. The Badgers weren't a very good team with them but it just shows how truly awful the conference is this season. Trice and King also hurt because we are just so un-athletic this year and those two could have helped that.
  17. The worst thing the Brewers could do is to shove Hiura into the MLB after spring break or ever next season. Financially and for his development, it just would not be a smart move for the Brewers. Let the guy develop a bit. I mean, he's had 187 plate appearances as a pro. As for targets? Unless they can trade Santana, none. If they add Walker, all that would do is jam things up even more than they already are. Hope Villar and Sogard can get their magic back is about it.
  18. If the Brewers were to hold onto Santana the best they could do breakdown wise would be: Braun- 120 games (10 @ DH, 40 @ 1B, 70 @ OF) Cain- 130 games Santana- 135 games Yellich- 150 games 162*3 = 486 total games Now, does this appease everyone because you are paying good chunks of money for these guys to be in the lineup at all times? Probably not. But one big positive is that you would have guys that are pretty much always fresh throughout the course of the season. Either way, it seems as though a trade is evident.
  19. You didn't question his information though. You just made a smart remark towards him. What good does something like that do? Ohhhhh, you got him. He didn't give us any new "news". Congrats man.
  20. Pinson was never committed to Wisconsin. Wisconsin was on his final four schools list, but Missouri was always the favorite from what I have read. Yeah, you are correct. I saw it flash on Twitter. Should have checked it out better. I will go ahead and say yes, as long as they are both out for the rest of the season. The NCCA rule (unless it's changed) is that a player cannot play more than 30% of the team's games. Well, both Trice and King have played 10 games this season. The team will play 32 games (counting 1 guaranteed for B10 tourney) this season so that would make them okay at 10 games. (32 * .3 = 9.6, they round up so that would make 10 acceptable.)
  21. Reevers doesn't even fill out his jersey. He is actually a guy I am very interested in seeing develop. He has shown flashes of brilliance on the court but doesn't get much of an opportunity while we are forcing the ball inside to Happ only.
  22. Stearn's isn't a slash line type of a guy. He looks at other data that suggests that they got Cain and Yelich on a bargain. And Braun was extremely unlucky last season at the plate. Exit velocity and BABIP tell a completely different story than Braun's slash line. No way will he be the odd man out. Pencil him in the 3-hole and hope he can play 130-140 games and enjoy the ride.
  23. Yeah, I just saw that Splitter and edited my post... I suppose the hamstring issues could have affected his performance that much. Still, seems like a gamble to expect a bounceback, especially at that salary... But with that risk and salary comes less of a return. And of course a hammy is going to affect performance.
  24. Appreciate the info HighHeat. You have sent the twitter morons into a frenzie and that alone makes you sharing this info great. There are fake accounts going up all over the place, blocking people, ect... Well-done sir.
  25. Wanted him then, and want him now. Wonder what it would take.
