  1. Keep scoring boys. Keep scoring. [sarcasm]We'll pull Anderson and pitch him Sunday![/sarcasm]
  2. Well, there's an inning that not only tied it up but could pay dividends going forward.
  3. I don't think that any of this is true. For example, Busch Stadium has their World Champion Flags up but I do not recall seeing any division champs. And the 2008 Wild Card banner is still up and in play. And yes, it is somewhat embarrassing.
  4. [sarcasm]Boy, I hope he was at least playing catch the last week or so.[/sarcasm]
  5. Can we get a source that you have for this information? How do you know what those guys are doing? Guys shut it down when their season ends. Unless they were told to be ready, that's what they're doing. Not sure why the Brewers would have prime prospects throwing at this point. If their intention all along were to bring them up (which I doubt), why not just do it? Couldn't it be possible that they told a group of guys to continue working with people in the Brewers organization in case the team needs them? Why would that be so hard to believe?

  7. I'm completely okay with starting him at AA/AAA to start and allowing the likes of Suter/Jungmann etc.. take the ball for the first month of the season. But if he's rolling like he has been after the Super 2 cutoff, giddy up. Bring the guy up and let's roll.
  8. I just hope Mike Trout and the Angels come to Miller Park in 2019. If so I'm going to as many of those as I can. My kid is disappointed that Cleveland is playing a Tues/Wed in May, he's a high school Baseball player so won't be able to go and would love to see the Indians. Oh well... I kidded with him "don't worry we'll go see the Reds for the 20th time in your life later that summer." He didn't think that was so funny. I'm a baseball coach. If a father came up to me and said I want to take my son to a pro baseball game so that he can see Mike Trout live. I would tell them thank you for doing so and I'll set up some individual practice time with him to work on some skills we did during the practice he missed. Can't replace those memories and what he will learn from going to see something like that.
  9. If the starting rotation is so good and so healthy that even if Burnes and Wilkerson are killing it AAA, they don't get any play, i would take that scenario over being one good starter short of missing the playoffs. You can always trade Anderson/Nelson following the 2018 season. I could see acquiring a great bullpen instead of a starter, but that is even a bigger crapshoot year to year - so I would rather just keep Hader in the pen. I would say put the money that would go to a starter into a position player, but where is there a position where we can really see a more than an incremental upgrade over what we have, considering both cost and performance? 2B? Walker heads the list basically. Trade? Possible, but I don't know if there are any better 2B that are available that way either. We've done the 30+ year old rotations before. It hasn't worked. I want to try these young arms and let a guy like Burnes come up and bulldoze his competition like he has all the way through. Jamming them up at AAA just doesn't do it for me. Let these guys pitch. It's what we have been waiting for, for so long with this organization.
  10. They likely have a very good idea of what they want to do with the rotation for the rest of the year already... they just aren't telling anyone. If it's jungmann or Wilkerson, I'd bet good money they are doing what is necessary to be sharp for whatever start they are given. Yep. Just because we are not being told, doesn't mean they aren't taking actions. I'm glad they keep things close to the vest.
  11. Come on Dbacks. At least let's have someone help us tonight.
  12. His OPS for the month of July was 861. What about May, June and August? Without April, his year would be pathetic and he might be out a job in 2018. I keep seeing things like this. So what, we should move on from a guy that is capable of putting up video game numbers because he's hasn't done well during certain months? He has his flaws, sure. But it's really his first full season in the pros. We would be very foolish to just give up on him right now. Very foolish.
  13. Cole just carved up Braun and Shaw when we could've really used a run. Guy is good.
  14. Cards taking care of business like the Cards do at this time of the year. So annoying. Just fall apart already.
  15. Broxton either steal or don't. But don't do that.
  16. I don't get not having at least the corners in there. It's not like we are scoring a bunch. Could have cut down the run.
  17. I love it. Let go for it using our best. Put them all on four days rest.
  18. If we are signing a guy like Cobb (will be 30), then we better be parting ways with Chase Anderson then. I don't want a rotation of 30+ year olds blocking our young arms from coming up and flourishing. It just doesn't need to happen to compete.
  19. Can we just for one year be a team that really doesn't belong in the playoffs but we somehow win the correct number of games to do so? It happens for other franchises. Never seems to for us.
  20. I'm assuming that you know who as you follow the MiLB, but I'll list it out anyway for those that might not. Former 2015 6th round pick, Eric is 23 years old and a starting pitcher at A+ this year. Last year he had a 4.81 ERA at Brevard. And this year a 3.94 ERA at Carolina. Neither of which is very good given the average offense for those leagues. So in short, not a lot. Sorry, should have used blue in my first post. Yeah, not much given up here and that was sort of expected in this trade. Walker has been a nice addition to the team.
  21. There will be no room on this team for Gray. Next season Nelson will return to ACE form and probably strike out 230 batters. Anderson will be the Anderson we've had over the last calendar year. Davies will win 20 games and be a shut down pitcher except a few bad starts where he can't locate pitches. Woodruff will take what he learned from this season and be even better next year. And Hader will be added to the rotation and will have the majority of his starts where he doesn't allow a run and a few starts where it blows up. He will be the #5 on the team but have #1 stuff. And if any of them have any injuries, Burnes will step in mid season and pitch like he has in the minors. The Brewers will go on to win 95 games next season on the backs of their great starting pitching and improved bullpen. Problem solved.
  22. Don't forget Jeffress. ERA of 3.00 and a WHIP of 1.20 since rejoining the Brewers. I want to see what Hader can do in a starting role. If it doesn't work, it can always be that he moves back to the pen. He is too valuable of an arm to put in the pen for the Brewers. It is not every day that they have an arm like his in their system. He could be the ace this team has been searching for for a long, long time. If he's not given the opportunity, we will never know. That would be truly sad IMO. Also, a back end of Knebel, Swarzak, Jeffress and a free agent addition would look just fine to me. If you add in the possibility of Taylor Williams and maybe resigning Hughes, you have plenty of arms to go around. That is even leaving out guys like Wilkerson, Guerra, Jungmann who could very well be pen arms as well.
