  1. I hadn't really even considered these two things. Whether you are believer in his second half or not, these two things might drive the price down all by itself. [sarcasm]Who started this thread anyways?[/sarcasm]
  2. Broxton only belongs there if you think his second half play was more in line with him. If you think it's more towards his first half play you get what you can and run.
  3. Not saying it is a must but would the Blue Jays or Mariners be a good landing spot for a guy like Broxton? Keon Broxton would be a upgrade over Kevin Pillar-TOR or Leonys Martin-SEA Or possibly Denard Span-SFG & Jacoby Ellsbury.
  4. [sarcasm]Maybe we can get Moncada back?[/sarcasm]
  5. So far the feeling of this rebuild has not felt great because of some of the lack of success in the minors from our top guys. I remember, and I could be wrong, but when Braun/Fielder/Hart/Hardy/Gallardo and co. came up, they won a lot in the minor leagues. Maybe I am misremembering. Either way, this is a big minor league season for the Brewers.
  6. Not even sure who I'd like. Probably would've had to suck it up to be a Twins fan. Ick.
  7. I like games that have a quality story behind it. I usually fall into the more historical games as well as NHL and MLB. Can't wait for Red Dead Redemption. Just played Mafia III and that was fun. PS4 guy here.
  8. Again, I appoligize for my choice of words. Let's get back to talking about how our best player since Yount has no trade value. That outta cheer everyone up a bit!
  9. Worked up? Calling someone out is not getting worked up. But now you're going to tell someone else what they can and cannot be offended by? Everything he posts is in a snarky tone and written just to be a jerk towards people who do no see it his way. Plenty of other ways to write an opinion than labeling people this or that while doing it. The bolded piece isn't the only piece of this puzzle. Yes, calling someone a complete jackass is kind of getting worked up. No I am not going to tell you what you can or cannot be offended by, I really do not care. Was simply defending the guy because I never got the impression of condescending tone from his posts at all, that's all. Great. Thanks for your opinion!
  10. I'm sorry for calling you a name but I just read arrogance with just about everything you post on any of the forums. Maybe I take you wrong but it comes off very poorly to me.

  12. I though the tie breaker with a team like Tampa (who we did not play) was record vs. similar opponents?
  13. This is all you had to say for me really. These values have big flaws in them. If you're going to de-value a player like Braun because of injuries, well you sure as heck better de-value a player that has never done a thing in the majors yet and has gotten hurt.
  14. Yeah it was more of a hypothetical Braun "value" question than a realistic one for one idea. Personally, I'd value Buehler more than Braun, but I believe most posters here who overvalue Braun would disagree. This might be a more realistic actual offer: OF-Ryan Braun (+8.8) 2B- Scooter Gennett (0?) for OF-Yasiel Puig (+19.43) RHP-Brandon McCarthy (-20) RHP-Walker Buehler (+15.6) I would also accept this trade in a heartbeat. Brewers could flip Puig for something later and maybe even get something for McCarthy in the future by absorbing salary. Unfortuately, I think the "Dodgers interest in Braun" ship has sailed. Stop. Just stop. Because someone doesn't agree with you value of a player doesn't mean you are right and they are wrong or that they are overvaluing someone. Make your posts without being a complete jackass and then it would be great to have these discussions.
  15. Yes. Because I, like many, can see growth in individuals. Braun made a mistake. Either on his own or listened to the wrong set of people telling him to throw people under the bus. Either way, he paid for it and ever since, he has done nothing but be a model citizen. ie. Starting a family, charity work, calling Brewers fans, showing up at just about every event, being a good leader in our own clubhouse (knocking down Lucroy's crap comments a year ago). So yes. I wouldn't hesitate to add a Ryan Braun to my team.
  16. Heck of a throw and catch that saves the season.
  17. Lara turned 19 about 6 weeks ago. We've been talking about him forever, but even if he repeats rookie ball, he's just fine from a prospect age standpoint. Yeah I'm probably being way too impatient because he's been around so long now.
  18. Trap game today. Defense needs to come out buzzing!
  19. I think the over/under should be 71. That's just me though. Take out Braun and you have to make the adjustment.
  20. If this team can find any consistency out of its bullpen, they may be a bit surprising to most this season.
  21. I'll be your witness. But I don't think thinking this team can win 75 games is being too much of a homer. In this division....... kind of. Won 73 a year ago. Pit and STL didn't get any better, maybe worse. CIN still sucks. It's not out of reach.
  22. I'll be your witness. But I don't think thinking this team can win 75 games is being too much of a homer.
  23. No ones offended. Just that these projections are broaderline special. And people who really dive into them, well I have some ocean front property I can sell you here in Iowa if you'd like? No damn GM is looking at fangraphs thinking oh I better not trade for Braun now.
  24. They pegged the Brewers at 71 wins last year, and the Brewers won 73. This year they have the Brewers pegged at 64 wins, worst in baseball. Laugh all you want but they were 2 games off on their projection last year. Obviously some guys are going to outperform their projections, that's the whole reason it's just a 'projection', and when PECOTA releases theirs I'll post that to compare. But they aren't just meaningless opinionated drivel, they're based on data. Oh I'll laugh alright. You mention they predicted last year to be 71 wins but don't mention how they never predicted Guerra to be our ace, Villar to be the best lead off hitter since Molitor, and Braun to just play like Ryan Braun does. And probably much, much more if we really wanted to look into it. They were wrong, no matter how you want to slice it.
