  1. Oh good, we have another chance at our future!
  2. Cedar Rapids Iowa has the single A Twins team but just down the freeway is Iowa City Metro Area (with Coralville/North Liberty). This area of Iowa is the fastest growing area in Iowa. That includes Des Moines. (The Iowa City metro's population grew to 164,357 by July 2014, up 11,771 people during that time period for a 7.7 percent increase, according to the bureau. On average, metro areas saw their population grow at a 3.9 percent rate between April 2010 and July 2014, according to the bureau.) The Brewers should find someone or some business in this area to build a minor league stadium and move their team to Iowa. Close to Milwaukee and would continue the boom of the area I am living at currently. Right now they are in the process of building an entertainment center/hockey arena in a newly developed area. People love their baseball here. Even if it is mostly Cubs/Cards fans.
  3. Couldn't agree more.
  4. Since he will probably be compared to him throughout his career because they were drafted in the same position, here are Ryan Braun's Brevard County stats from 2006 Braun - Played 59 games, 226 at bats, hit 7 homers and had a line of .274/.346/.438/.784 This is after a full season of playing 1/2 rookie ball and 1/2 A ball. Of which he destroyed pitching there. Corey Ray seems to be transitioning just fine. Austin Tatious is hard to read your stuff after the Draft Forum because I know you hated the pick.
  5. I've been on the move on from Scooter fan bus from awhile but I am also on the fan bus of having a balanced lineup. That includes having left handed options. The thing that keeps me on the move on from Scooter fan bus is that he only plays second base. It sure would be nice to find another versatile guy that can play around the infield that has speed, work a walk and hit at a decent clip. I know, easy said. But I would rather move on from Scooter and have some other guys get opportunities around the diamond, which would include Villar playing mostly 2B.
  6. Ryan Braun is still really good at baseball. Fun to watch!
  7. But they're on pace to strikeout the most in history. How could this be? Just ribbin ya.
  8. Why do people care what he does with his belongings?
  9. Weeks inability to even think about adjusting at the plate is something I'll never forget. He was a stubborn player. Even when asked to play some outfield in the later stages, he refused. Like he was some gold glover second basemen. Back to Broxton, Rogers is heading towards AAAA player if not already. This is a trade that could be simply amazing for the Brewers.
  10. This. People never seem to get this. Boggles my mind. Sanatana will get plenty of PT. He's not going anywhere.
  11. The directv account was in my wife's name. After they refused to lock us in at the two-year deal they are offering people for $50-$60/month, I went to the At&it store and signed up for Directv through them. Got locked in for $60/month plus NFL for free and 3 months HBO/starz/showtime. If in two years they don't give me a similar deal, I'll do it again. Screw them.
  12. After watching Suter last night I just don't see how he can sustain success as a starter in the MLB. That third time around the smacked him around like he owed them money.
  13. Huh? In the last 30 days he's hit .314, how is that ice cold? I will say though that he definitely has a bump in stats due to playing in Colorado Springs as his splits suggest so.
  14. JJ Hardy batted .180 his first 60 games (130 PA's) in the pros. Hardy and Arcia have very similar statistics in the minors. I'm sure Arcia will be just fine. Gotta work the rough edges out at some point. Might as well be at the end of a nothing season.
  15. Build around Braun. The MLB will never appreciate him as much as if he is here when we win a World Series in a couple years.
  16. I just hope we get out of the routine of having 1-2 pitchers that completely train wreck our season to begin the year. Whether it is Garza/Lohse, Suppan/Wolf, Peralta/Junmgmann. It just always seems to the the story of the Brewers.
  17. These posts always seem so silly to me because where is there ever any evidence of this team quitting? Just so hard to judge that.
  18. Why not? As long as it isn't a Brewers uniform, I don't care where he lands. Like others have mentioned though, I'd love to see him in a Cards uniform. Because I like Carlos and I cannot stand the Cardinals. Why would I want to see the two mix? I'd rather he go to another team and figure himself out.
  19. Maybe if he didn't hit so many walk offs his neck would still be healthy. Jeeze they beat him up a few times. Great memories
  20. I agree. I mean, Yuni Betancourt was our starting SS in the NLCS. You may not have a player of the future at every position even in a contending year, you might just have a stopgap. That's not to say you don't look to acquire your 1B of the future if the opportunity presents itself, but at this point in the rebuild our acquisitions should be all about value and none about need. But maybe if we don't have the Yuni's of the world, we progress further into the playoffs. Heck maybe even win one in our history.
  21. Maybe this was all apart of the trade plan. Go play terrible for a year and we'll pick you up off the waivers. Carlos did have those comments about hoping to get back to Milwaukee someday.
  22. With Brinson knocking on the door along with Reed and Wren around I'm not sure they'll even think about it.
