  1. Immensely streaky guy. I'll give him time, but it won't be forever. Too young to toss in the towel. This game feels like it's going to be a heartbreaker
  2. This one stinks. Nelson deserved this win. Come on offense, plate one in the 9th. Don't let these dang Cubbies off the hook.
  3. Meh, I'm okay with the stolen base attempt. Bang, bang play there. If he makes it he's in scoring position with two outs.
  4. Back to back games Lucroy doesn't know the situation. Yesterday after an inning ending K he threw it around the horn and just now he trotted off second base thinking it was the third strike(?) and was picked off. Not very smart baseball.
  5. If we had more pitching, sure. But we don't.
  6. Oh my, if we trade away our only legitimate starting pitcher (yes, I know some of have been better as of late), I quit. How embarrassing. Seriously, how embarrassing would it be that we cannot even keep ONE stinking pitcher worth a darn on our team.
  7. Yes, I'll echo the thoughts of many here already. I don't miss the player types of Khris Davis. Happy he is doing well because he seems to be a good dude but overall I could careless if he hits 50 this season. He doesn't get on base at a high enough clip to ever sustain success and he's a lousy outfielder. Getting on base consistently will hopefully help cure the streakiness of the Brewers offense. At least to some extent.
  8. Just goes to show what year to year records can really be. Who would've thunk it?!
  9. Methinks "pathetic" is a bit strong. I hate to admit it but Brewers history, pitching especially, is pretty brutal. As I type, back to back jacks to blow 1-hitter and shutout. Brutal.
  10. CC Sabathia had one, just isn't official. We all know it was a no hitter though... Yes. Forgot about that. Completely agree. What a debacle that was.
  11. Dang. Brewers are just never that team who has no hitters. One stinking no hitter in history. Pathetic.
  12. I wish their AAA was here in Iowa. That'd be fun!
  13. I'll take 6 innings pitched and the average of 87 pitches which he has done his last four games. On a normal 100 pitch count he's at least pitching into the 7th or completing 7 innings. The Brewers are conservative with their prospects. Have been for quite awhile. Sure has worked out for them.
  14. I'm right there with ya Briggs. No reason to hold back a pitcher who is ready. Unfortunately the economics of baseball continue to ruin things. Can't even put your best rotation at the major league level. You realize you just said there's no reason then name the reason? Yes, it does suck economics dictate things, especially for the smallest of small markets. Hader in Milwaukee this year does no good for anyone. And service time is not the only issue. As we discussed above, he is not ready to log that many innings yet this year. None of us know what's best for his development, but I'll give the nod to his coaches and player development people. Economics aren't an issue for me. I would put together the best players I could at a major league level. I wouldn't care if they were 18-23 year olds as long as they are good. Who knows what bringing up a stud like Hader would do for Milwaukee.

  16. Carlos Gomez has put up a dWar of .4, .3, .5 and this year a .1 in the last four seasons. Kirk Nieuwenhuis current sits at .8. I would say we are doing okay out in CF. It's just that Kirk isn't a name player and hasn't had a great track record until this season. Nothing wrong with the production there. And yes, Gomez was a great player for TWO season with us. At the age of 27 & 28. The rest of his career, meh. It was time to move on and talk about perfect timing indeed. No need to bash him though. He is a good guy that loves Milwaukee.
  17. Hader has been struggling to get 5 IP per start. Something tells me he's not seeing Milwaukee until he gets his mechanics figured out a bit more and can throw 80-90 pitches and get into the 5th or 6th inning consistently. I think that's a bit overblown. He's gone 6 innings his past three starts in less than 90 pitches. That would be perfectly fine if he were able to do that in Milwaukee. With that said, I still don't think he should be brought up until September call-ups. Overblown indeed. They are also keeping him on a very low pitch count, which is fine, but in some of those 4-5 inning pitched games, I am sure he could have went another inning, maybe two if needed. But with him, if they were to bring him up and keep him around 90 pitches, that is fine with me. Just pair up a long man with him and we are golden. I am one who just is sick of watching talented pitchers be wasted in the minor leagues. If the man can pitch in the majors, let him. Either way, find out.
  18. What does this mean? I assume you're saying that they're better off without Gomez, but how? What does not having Gomez on the team do that was hindered by having him there? I'm serious about these questions. He played 5+ seasons in Milwaukee and was worth 16 WARP, but people seem to think the Brewers are so much better off without him. It's easy to look at it now and say it was good to get rid of him, but what if he was playing like 2014 Gomez? Would people still feel this way? Player A: .275/.383/.420/.803 Player B: .182/.238/.248/.486 Player C: .245/.360/.296/.756 One of these is Gomez. The other two make up 2/3's of our outfield. I think we are doing okay. Yes Gomez was a great player for us during his time but it is okay that we moved on and it looks to be just in time.
