  1. I'm sorry, I love Lucroy but im not going to bank on the season he had this past year. We need to find some power bats in our 3-5 holes
  2. Far fetched that a guy with an .812 AAA OPS over 287 games can't put up a .725 OPS in the majors? Bianchi put up a .777 OPS in AAA, and couldn't put up a .600 OPS in the majors. It's not that far fetched at all to say someone who's productive at AAA is not automatically going to be productive at the bigs. Also, isn't the PCL league known for ridiculous batting statistics? If so, that has to be taken into consideration.
  3. Hopefully Lucroy can win one of these someday but he's going to have to wait until Molina is done. He's just better.
  4. TRANSACTIONS 1. Let go Aram for $4 mil 2. Trade Gallardo & Maldonado to BOSTON for Blake Swihart & Garin Cecchini 3. SU- Smith (L) ($.5mil) 3. SU-Jefress ($.5mil) 4. Henderson ($.5mil) 5. Estrada ($2mil) ($.5mil) 6. Joe Thatcher (L) ($2.25mil) 7. Kintzler ($.5mil) Might be fantasy land but I have found us a switch hitting catcher of the future for when Lucroy moves on to 1B or 3B, two decent 3B prospects to play in 2015, keep Segura until Arcia is ready, keep Gomez at a really cheap rate until Taylor is ready, add one of the best SP prospects and all for $75 million buckaroos (+ $4million for Aramis)
  5. No. And it has nothing to do with liking him or not. He just surrenders too many home runs to make it worth it. Now if it were $3 million, I'd probably do it. And he may end up as a setup man with Jeffress and Smith and let Broxton close.
  6. Great post. Enjoy the game. Wish I could be there. One of these years it'll happen. One of these years...
  7. I don't think it really has much to do with Gomez as it has to do with how bad Segura has been for this team. While I would've put Herrera in there, I feel as though Gomez is defensively superior to him so that was probably how RR was thinking. In terms of veteran grittiness. I know we make fun of it but you do have to have some of it. The problem is, the veteran guys he's selecting to fill those roles, suck. Reynolds doesn't belong anywhere near a starting position, maybe not even a bench guy. This whole lost two months have been a complete showing of what exactly is wrong with how the roster is put together. Had it not been for a hot start, we would have been talking about heads rolling come July.
  8. I'd yank Gomez so damn fast it wouldn't be funny. What a joke that crap was. He's quit. He's absolutely quit. Leave Schaffer in. Screw that bum.
  9. Rickie Weeks. A man that has never evolved his game. WHIFFFF at sliders no where near the zone.
  10. I wish we could go back and have a normal April record so we wouldn't of had to go through this shenanigans. Maybe we would've traded some guys away and picked up some prospects.
  11. The thing about this is I'm actually sick of watching us attempt to hit a baseball. I don't even want to see our stinky butt lineup anymore. They're awful. I'd be absolutely fine with cleaning house. No one exciting. No one consistent. Just plain old stinky.
  12. Reynolds just swings in one spot over and over. He swings really hard so about 20 times a year homeruns happen. Such a lousy player it's unbelievable. I also blame Lucroy. I know Broxton throws fastballs but hey, try a bender. Maybe someone actually gets off balance. What a joke this has become.
  13. Fire the players. They suck. Melvin needs to re think this crap.
  14. Hopefully that ump is graded on that at bat with Bruan. That's awful.
  15. "First place for 150 days" banner? Lol exactly. It's just such a joke.
  16. Far from over? Losing today makes tomorrow a must win and you probably have to sweep the Pirates. Ain't gonna happen. We'll just hang our "We didn't have a losing record banner" and the Cards will plop another NL Central banner and have a shot at something meaningful.
  17. Cardinals make plays more often than the Brewers. It isn't anymore complicated than that. They are simply better at baseball than the Brewers and that's tough to stomach. Frustrating. Cards and Pirates deserve(belong) in the post season.
  18. This sucks. This really sucks. The lineup is putrid. Swing like a bunch of panzies. Nice work Fiers, you pitched a hell of a game.
  19. Those are the chances you cannot blow. I really don't want to watch Segura again next season but I have a feeling they won't make an upgrade.
