    This post should be on your brewerfan.net HOF plaque some day. It’s just so you. Perfection guy. To me these are legitimate concerns. We didn't help our run D, we didn't help our receiving corps. No matter how we dress it up, it's obvious that we simply can't rely on guys like MVS or ESB to be reliable targets for Rodgers. Our run D was the reason we didn't go to the Super Bowl last year and we didn't do anything to make it better. Rodgers is playing some of the best ball of his life, but he's almost 37 and doesn't have much time left. We should be trying to put a championship team around him while there's still time. We didn't fix what was obviously broken. I do agree to some extent. I think if the plan was to draft for down the road, then trades and free agency should’ve been the way they fix the weaknesses of last years team.

    Rodgers hasn’t thrown for 200 yards yet against the equivalent of an XFL secondary. There’s an issue all around today.

    For Rodgers being so smart, how can he not be irate that they’re down 2 scores with 11 mins left in the game and taking you 35 seconds of the play clock and still running in 1st down. It’s crazy how dumb some of this is.

    I really thought Pettine was going to be the guy but he has to go. Wish I knew how to look it up but our blitzes rarely get to a QB. We are always playing soft defensively in our secondary. I absolutely hate the style of football we play on that side of the ball. It’s really poor coaching all around on that side of the ball.

    I’m so tired of seeing Preston Smith used as a defensive back. It’s just plain old stupid.

    Their D is pathetic, but that offense can put up points if they don’t have turnovers. We will need 35 or so to win today. I do not care. They’re trash and I’m tired of people trying to make a case for that crappy team.

    ExposeOldTakes should hammer out about 100 “experts” that tried to tell us how great Minnesota is and how they’d win the division. They’re pathetic. Steam roll this turd of a team.

    Where's this young, controllable talent coming from then? Practically every free agent is at least 30 years old. Hader seemed like the best trade candidate to really bring back some nice young pieces, but I'm doubting he has much value right now with how the offseason is going so far (and he ain't even going to be cheap anymore either). Best bet may be to plug holes and if it's not working out again and a guy like Santana is having a nice season you may be able to flip him for something nice. I don’t have the answers for it but it’s something they need to focus on. We will never be a consistent franchise moving forward if we are banking on hitting the lottery every off season with 1-year deals on questionable players or over the hill guys we hope to squeak out another good season with. It’s just not sustainable.

    I like Cron a bit more because he’s 30. A bit younger and I’ll bet cheaper. But still doesn’t infuse young controllable talent. It’s something that just has to be a priority moving forward or we are in for dark days ahead.

    I meant from his perspective on coming back for a season. He could look at it as I’m getting $4M no matter what but if they offered him $4M to comeback, he could look at it like he’s being paid $8M to play next season which isn’t a huge slap in the face compared to what he’s been making. For the Brewers, yeah the $4M doesn’t matter because they pay it no matter what.

    The $4M buyout definitely helps the scenario. Say they are able to offer him a 1yr-$4M with escalators. Now you’re looking at $8M+ if things go right. That might entice him. I also think it depends on the covid situation. Like TomH mentioned, he doesn’t want to comeback to another situation like this past season.

    Will be 35 next season. OBP is there I’m sure but it’s not getting this roster any younger nor more athletic.

    Crazy how different history would be if they allowed Holmgren the reins of the franchise when he wanted them. Would we have won more? I think so. I think Favre also has an even better career. He lost that coach that keeps him in check and it hurt him badly in the early 2000’s. He just happened to be so talented that they could still win even with reckless play. It definitely would’ve changed the outcome of getting Rodgers.

    I think they’ll bank that there will be a lot of discounted players out there this year due to teams cutting back. I like the idea of giving us a chance to maybe get some better players on the cheap.
