I actually have not seen this episode before (or any for that matter) since I never get the FS-WI regular programming. (Hmm, neither should you, since you live in Phoenix. Unless you happened to see it during a previous rain delay.) It was kind of nice to see it finally. Glad to see the Crew got SOMETHING out of this inning. That Weeks double was smoked! And now Hardy goes oppo-taco! It was on during another rain delay. I was just anxious for the game to start. -

Making that an especially dumb decision was the fact that Braun, Fielder, Cameron are coming up with no one out.

This Braun interview is better than a re-run of Mama's Family or something but still, we've seen this before. It's kinda vanilla too.

I just don't have the patience to vote so many times. I don't really care who makes it. I hope it's the best players. That said I hope Milledge makes it this year so they are forced to change the process so the fans don't have a vote.

Ethical Question: Advancing on Injury

Golf is not a contact sport, but it's a sport. The athleticism in golf isn't evident as much during the televised round that you're watching, it's in Tiger's 12 hour day of practice/training every day he isn't competing. Tiger is an athlete. If you look closely at the pro golfers lately, they aren't out of shape 30 to 40 year old white guys any more. The girl's softball part of this conversation when they carried her around the bases shows great sportmanship. I would rather they let the umpire make a ruling, if she can't make it, she's out. Sports are supposed to be competitive, the other team is your enemy while you're playing. I also didn't like it a few years back when I think it was womens college basketball, the girl had a knee injury but was 1 point short of some all-time scoring record. The other team let her score and then exit the game. How much honor is there in that? Can that player really feel like they earned it? Because they didn't. -
I don't believe it's him. I would believe it if he said he was not inclined to order an appetizer at this time. Work in a few and that's and I'll follow him too.

Plate Discipline (ESPN Article + Hardy Quotes)

It's all in communication. Managers always want their players to have better plate discipline. The difference however between "You guys need to draw more walks" and "Hey Corey lets watch some film. See this slider low and away that ends up in the dirt. You're never going to hit it. If you make contact it won't be for a hit. Let's work on that." Seems huge. Fans want a manager to scream and yell at the players when they are playing bad, myself included sometimes. But some teams respond to calm and level headed with accountability better. -
Yeah I fully expect the "see it was a terrible trade" posts to come in with LaPorta hitting a home run today. Congratulations to Matt for his first big league hit and home run. I'm trying to ignore the fact that it sounds like the guy is a jerk.

I can't imagine any lineup with Rickie hitting 3rd but he seems to fit there nicely. You don't want to lose the AB's for Braun but Hart Hardy Weeks Fielder Braun Cameron Hall Kendall P Looks pretty good.

Are you BrewCrewKillsUs or whatever it is? Yeah, I got all pumped up during the game and got carried away. They made a bunch of comments about Braun last week. Then I started feeling bad for them. I'm sure I felt the same way all of 3 or 4 years ago. Now that the game is over I feel pretty childish. It was fun at the time though.

What a game! Great game Rickie. This Pirates team has to be wondering if it is even worth coming out tomorrow. If Soup wins tomorrow I will believe in the Pirates being jinxed or hexed or whatever you want to call it.

Sorry for the frequent comments here, but notice to Pirates announcers, Braun gets to call Karstens that kid, because he was rookie of the year, an all-star, and he just did that!

I hope I'm wrong but I think that call will cost us the game. I've seen much worse that they said the hitter checked on.

Nice play by Maholm, not sure it was the best play we will see the entire year by a pitcher like the Pirates announcers think, but nice.

I just wanted that conversation to go on for as long as possible. "Well some balls are going to be put in play aren't they?" Looks like FSWisconsin would have atleast 2 more viewers if they bothered to broadcast in HD.

Wow. Pirates announcers completely clueless as far as what BABIP means, not sure of the relevance.
