  1. Ask the 3rd base ump if he thought he went there too, just for fun.
  2. I did fully expect them to pitch around Prince and try for the double play with f-cat
  3. Hey valpo, go check out the buccosforum for a fan site that doesn't follow the rules. That site makes for terrible reading... The rules for the in-game thread are what make this so much better than jsonline's in game blog. I don't understand what the problem is here.
  4. What was the deal with Listach? I was 10 his rookie year and I don't remember what happened to him.
  5. I like the idea of a rule that says if no matter how you say it, if you are saying "game over" you're done posting for the rest of the game. Even better would be following a rule that says stop posting things like "game over".
  6. Other than Bill Hall, can you think of any Brewer player following a very good year with an absolute clunker like J.J.? I'm going to stop there so as to avoid making a reactionary statment that may or may not be true.
  7. I think that Brewers management has to look at it differently though. Of course the goal is a World Series Championship but they also need people to show up to all the games. Even with out Halladay or any large acquisition the team is exciting enough to make people come out. Going "all in" would be great but then what? Even if the team wins but they lose players to free agency and fans stop showing up, what are they left with? We've made the playoffs once. I think this World Series or bust attitude is not shared by management. I happen to think it wouldn't hurt to just be good and content for a few years and not worry about going for it this year. This team while talented may not be good enough even with Halladay and/or Rolen.
  8. And eventually some drunk guy is going to get in a fight and knock into some kid. We need to stop beer sales. Whoa, whoa, whoa let's not talk crazy now! Stopping beer sales? Instead of banning ball hawking and stopping beer sales why don't we kill two birds with one stone and ban children from the stadium? I think I mean for that to be in blue... sort of.
  9. I think there are more than a few people that are "mildly racist" or however it should be put, in Milwaukee/WI as well. Not exactly card carrying Klansmen but still enjoy racial humor, think less of people of backgrounds different than theirs. They don't realize they are racist but are. I move to Phoenix, AZ and there is pleanty of it here too. It's everywhere. I don't like the T-Shirts either but I don't let it bother me.
  10. Why doesn't DM just tell all of us who he wants to trade for, what he offered and what he is really willing to give up for them? It wouldn't hurt to tell the media and the fans how much he values some of the prospects, then we would know he is trying!
  11. Is it fantasy baseball that has people thinking that trades are real easy to make? Or just the fact that it's not their job on the line if they trade away the future just for a run at the playoffs this year?
  12. I don't think this game has any bearing on the rest of the season more than the other 161. I do think it's a big game considering how they have been playing, Yo started and other than him the rotation is... not so great, we're playing a division rival, it would go a long way to make people forget about the Braun/DM comments and you don't want to go into the ASB on a huge slide.
  13. I'm behind in the game on my Tivo. This ump is a joke. I'm watching the Cardinals feed. Apparently the 3B ump, the crew chief requested that their 3B monitor is turned off. Not sure why he wanted it off but I'd bet it has something to do with the terrible job of umpiring. Why can't Macha come out and get tossed? Sveum and Randolph gone and yet Kenny can't chew out this terrible ump? I don't like this about him.
  14. I absolutely agree with this. I wouldn't give up what it takes to get Halladay right now. All of the other packages wouldn't get it done. The Blue Jays know that about 20 teams would be interested. If they don't get an offer they like they can hang on to him and see if they get an offer they like in the off season or even next years trade deadline. It is an extreme sellers market and Halladay would be the best pitcher available. If they never get an offer they like they hang on to him and let him go after next season and take the 2 high draft picks. Any package for Halladay needs to include atleast 2 prospects that are as talented as 2 first round picks. Some combination of 2 players from this group Gamel, Escobar, Hardy, Hart, Lawrie, Green plus 2 players from the next tier like Salome, Lucroy, etc many of you know our prospects better than I do so I won't go on.
  15. Yeah Gammons struggled with the name but people on this site, myself included, always mention ESPN not giving any respect to the Brewers. This time it is really nice to see that a couple ESPN guys mentioned how both Yo and Hoffman were snubbed and didn't name a single other NL player they thought was snubbed. Finally a little love from ESPN.
  16. Can you even imagine how much of a complainer Braun will be if heaven forbid the team has a bad season? Melvin built this team from pretty much nothing. Braun shows up and to his credit he is responsible for a large amount of the teams success, but here we are 1 game out of first before the all-star break going through a rough month and Braun has to call everyone out. Eventually the rest of the team isn't going to respond to his comments if he makes them several times a year. I'd like my star player to be able to handle adversity without complaining to the media. If a couple years down the road the team wins 75 games is he going to demand a trade?
  17. I'm really glad DM said what he said. Braun needs to keep his mouth shut and play ball. You could make a case every other time that he was trying to be a leader but not this time around. If Braun was on any other team we would recognize him for what he is. An insanely talented loud mouth who thinks his contract gives him the right to criticize his GM, manager, teammates and stadium that he plays in.
  18. Eric Young on ESPN shows the clip of the last pitch and goes "It was a little high". Are you kidding me? I think if you watch that pitch and think it's out of the zone you're a little high.
  19. Fair point on the inconsistant zone and on Hart's at bat. There's just that unwritten rule about if it's close you swing. A rookie if anyone should not have been rewarded for letting strike 3 go by him with the game on the line. It's just a terrible way to have a game end.
  20. We can argue all day long about where guys hit in the lineup or who is playing. Macha's biggest flaw is that he doesn't stick up for his players. Ned was drastically the other way but come on Macha, get out there and jaw for once. It's July 3rd and you haven't raised your voice yet. As far as I can remember he's walked out there once and talked to the ump. He's never been tossed. Grow a pair.
  21. Not a great performance but how is this team not good enough? That was strike 3, we should be starting the next inning right now. No doubt about it, bad call. It's not like a tag play where it could be seen differently. Gameday had it over the plate.
