  1. I don't have a problem with the lineup. I know J.J. hates hitting 8th but I think Kendall and Counsell 1 & 2 against Zambrano could be good. They see a lot of pitches and if the ump isn't giving Z pitches out of the zone he may implode.
  2. Not sure what I was feeling, but I guess it wasn't a come back.
  3. Come on Prince! You just clogged the bases, whats the matter with you? Was that person wearing a mask for fear of swine flu?
  4. Before that AB Hart was tied with McGehee and Rivera with 4 GDP for the year. Hall, Hardy, Kendall, Fielder, and Cameron (in that order) all had more GDPs than Hart coming into this game. I knew Hart had a very low total for GDP but I didn't feel like looking it up because I knew facts don't matter to some people anyway. Thanks for posting it.
  5. I'm glad Cam is playing CF for us in the series. It's looking like it will be a crazy series.
  6. Sweeping generalizations and overreactions really take away from the fun of reading other peoples input on this site. It's ok to be mad about the game but how about not ruining this thread for everyone with "McClung is horrible" over and over.
  7. How do you know he wasn't? We aren't looking for an exact number of pitches, we're looking to err on the side of caution given that Yo is likely still at high risk in terms of physical development and also barely pitched the previous season. His arm may be able to take 200+ innings, but is it wise to even chance it? I don't know how anyone can argue with this post by TheCrew. Why would anyone be willing, just on the off chance that there is some validity to pitch counts, to risk your 23 year old staff ace's health on a Wednesday in June? Is it worth it to grind an extra inning out of a guy when there is a 1% chance that it could contribute to him being injured or ineffective later?
  8. I hope I didn't miss this in someone elses post but... I don't think this particular time it is a big deal because Yo has an extra day off before his next start. I hope he doesn't start the game before the All-Star game and then pitch in the All-star game. That might be a bit much.
  9. How much does the number of warm up pitches between innings count towards arm fatigue? Do they keep track of that? If a pitcher throws 6+ and his pitch count is 110 but he threw warm ups before every inning including the 7th isn't that part of the total affect on a pitchers arm? Unless Macha is only planning on managing the Brewers for 1 year he ought to worry about what happns to Yo's arm next year atleast a little bit. I think if Yo threw 150 innings or more last year it wouldn't be such a big deal but he's looking at a huge jump in work load. We saw what happened to Parra last year. A lot of that may have been in his head but we still saw him wear down at the end of the year. I'd hate to see that happen to Yo this year.
  10. Thats not a little base running miscue its a big one. If it's over his head he scores easily. No reason to go half way there.
  11. I know his pitch count is low enough but I don't really agree with keeping Burns in here. He gave you 6 innings 2 runs. Be happy with that and send him back out there next time with the confidence of knowing he had a quality start last time out.
  12. To be fair, Santana hasn't gotten his "star pitcher strike zone" the last 2 innings. Gameday has 3 of the 4 to J.J. in the zone.
  13. Hey Bill gameday has those pitches inside, thats where they are missing.
  14. Don't look now but Santana is approaching 50 pitches through 3 anyway!
  15. Dave Bush took off the beard? Devestating. Wow J.J. heck of a throw!
  16. Problem is that you immediately dig a 2-0 hole against Santana... Not a good recipe for victory! Of course it's not. It wouldn't be against anyone. It was mentioned earlier that this may be on of the most lopsided pitching matchups ever. It's just too early get down on the team though.
  17. How about Bill Hall with 2 hits in the same game! I've complained about him a lot so I should also say good game tonight. Hopefully this gets his confidence going.
  18. I guess being that I started reading the thread after the grand slam by McGehee and read straight through it made for strange reading. Normally I ride the roller coaster of ups and downs with everyone else.
