  1. I think it's seven HR vs LHP for Prince (maybe six). Looking forward to watching regardless.
  2. oh, yes you can! The Real Pirates have been doing it for many years!
  3. yes, I believe it's scored as an error, also
  4. I completely agree, but that's why I wanted clarification. I definitely will look at the best player available, regardless of position for the most part. Thanks for answering my question.
  5. reaching base via Catcher's interference does not count as an at-bat, I believe. But I do believe you calculate Catcher's interference into the equation (although it so rarely happens you don't really notice this). Now, keep in mind, they may have changed the rule on this. But I believe at one time that CI was included.
  6. nah, I'll take Detroit. Are we pretending the rosters are also set at June 2005, also? So, no Cabrera, Dontrelle, etc.? I have to pretend that I don't know that I'll be picking them up in 3 years?
  7. can I take the Cubs and make a crappy selection, in hopes that it'll work like a voodoo doll and send the current team into a tailspin?
  8. Did I miss something? Are Pirates outfielders really going to win the election? Last I checked, Soriano and Fukudome were the leaders and with the Japanese vote coming online, Fukudome is a shoo-in to start. Yeah, McLouth has done a great job thus far and should make the team but not as a starter. Same with Bay and Nady, I guess. It's just not going to happen. Are the Pirates really promoting getting those three elected as starters or is this just people being cute with this thread? I'm not trying to mock anybody here--asking serious questions.
  9. yep, hockey is one amazing sport--probably my 2nd favorite after baseball. The only thing about the NBC broadcast that I don't like is the same when FOX had the rights--the play-by-play guy. He's got too high and whiny of a voice whenever he gets excited and you can't hear him and/or understand him over the crowd. I prefer Gary Thorne on hockey broadcasts. Can't wait for game six. I almost got out some NHL 06 action on my computer last night because I was so pumped up.
  10. no, no, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that Prince's was a BLAST but Branyan's was a SUPERBLAST but only 20 feet further?
  11. nope, I am pretty sure Lincecum is completely untouchable. The Giants would be kicked to San Jose by its fans if they dealt him, unless it was for a package of 4-5 5-tool near-MLB ready prospects. I say send Billy to Pittsburgh or Kansas City or Japan or something.
  12. I've already got tickets for the first two games of the series, but I'm still working on the other 2 games. Thanks, though.
  13. a very nice win. 4 in a row. I'll take it. Very fun game to watch, too. C'mon, Padres! Hold on for us!
  14. wow, a bunt with 2 strikes. Wonder how much heat Bob Melvin gets on DBack fan sites? Is it like here? I thought it was an okay call. Playing for one run and getting 2 or more is gravy, if you're on the road. edit: oh, boy! another team's scrappy crappy player gets to come up to bat and try to beat us. Eckstein, Theriot, Henry Blanco, the list goes on . . . .
  15. Uecker just said that Prince's HR tonight was measured at 445'. Are you serious? And Branyan's was ONLY 465'?!?! (or whatever it was) Um. . . . . yeah. Somebody needs to go and re-measure these.
  16. But, they HAVE to! They set a franchise record for HR's last year. It's what they do! Seriously, I agree with you. Cameron tried to poke a few to right, but Weeks AB was very weak (and too quick) and Braun got over anxious on a guy you know throws low sliders.
  17. at least Branyan is still available in the 8th/9th/extra innings
  18. Kapler should have let that ball hit him. Dead ball and only one out recorded. Darn it.
  19. gotta capitalize on this. No more Strikeouts, please?
  20. WOWSAH! That's nice to see. Still nobody out, too!
  21. I would guess Hall starts and Branyan is used off the bench later in the game. It was very nice to see Branyan does have (small sample) history against DD. Woogie, I like the statistical font and colors that you have up now. Much better on my eyes. Thank you.
  22. HOU: 1-0 ARZ: 2-1 at COL: 1-2 at HOU: 1-2 MIN: 3-0 TOR: 2-1 BAL: 2-1 at ATL: 1-2 at MIN: 2-1 at ARZ: 1-0 16-10 (45-38) They better win in Phoenix since I'm there for all four games, darn it all!
