  1. I believe Kieschnick tried out with Baltimore this spring but got cut and then retired.
  2. great start so far. Let's hope it is not one of those games when we get a great start and then the bats go silent for the rest of the game.
  3. If the Tigers trade Verlander, there will be as much rioting as when the Pistons won titles. Every member of the Tigers organization would be burned in effigy and ripped to shreds. If you think Jenkins and Wise for Verlander is fair, I've got some belly button lint that is in the shape of the virgin Mary (with a little imagination, at least) that I'd like to sell you.
  4. up to Mr. Clutch, Geoff Jenkins. EDIT: And THAT, on a 3-2 pitch, is the epitome of today.
  5. that ball rebounded off Coffey's calf and hit him in the posterior. What if it had stuck? That'd have been funny.
  6. how about one of those opposite field doubles by Fielder right here. EDIT: fielder's choice ground out. Darn it. Sure smashed it, though.
  7. that's nice. Glad Koskie wasn't going. He would've been dead meat, even with the error.
  8. Prince just needs to learn to knock down some of thoe throws. Another popup to get out of the inning. YAY! What a game! The good thing is, I'm at work but still get to watch the game!
  9. Anyone else get nervous when they showed Winklesas warming up in the pen in the 9th? THey showed him in the Reds broadcast and I just about spit up my beer to yell in disgust.
  10. I know that when I was a kid, I always dreamed that I would play in the big leagues. When I grew up, I was fairly decent player in H.S. and played a couple of years in DIII college and I always hoped that maybe I'd be drafted in like the 46th round or something. I know some scouts were there at my HS games to check on some players and I hoped maybe they saw something in me, a left-handed outfielder with a decent fastball (83 or so) and good change up. Did anyone else hope they would get drafted when they played ball? Every year, I joke with my wife that maybe THIS is the year even though I'm nearly 34 now.
  11. what browser do you use? I noticed the same problem last week when I was at work and had to use Internet Explorer. When I got home, I tried IE also and it was so but I also have Firefox on my computer and that brought up the pages fast as lightning. I'm so glad some of the great people here at BF.net showed me the way to Firefox. Just a possibility that this is your problem, too.
  12. Very snipey here today. You can tell we lost. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif On a good note, this was only our 8th game this year that we scored less than 3 runs.
  13. pretty generous official scoring if I do say so myself. I hope Winkelsas stays around. Sounds like he did his job. Just the infielders didn't do theirs.
  14. I'm listening to Uecker and I'm not noticing anything different.
  15. This may be it for Eveland today
  16. DHonks, I totally agree. Got the windows open and it's a cool 65 degrees in Kingman. Kinda need to put socks on or something to keep my feet warm. Why no Phillies broadcast even? Is it on their local TV channel and that's why no DirecTV?
  17. I would be willing to name this "greatest series in Miller Park history" if we suddenly roll out to win 18 of our next 22 games or something. A win like today would be a big team motivator to do such a thing. Until that happens, of course, I'll wait to pass judgement.
  18. Stinks that the game isn't on TV tomorrow. I have to settle for the Mets "broadcast" on DirecTV tomorrow (if it is on that is) and listen to Ueck and Powell. By the way, Don, I'm enjoying drinking about as much as you, I think.
  19. I'm glad I can now live vicariously through you guys and your fighting softball team.
  20. There wasn't much you could do tonight. It was a pitcher's duel and it came down to who made the one mistake. Unfortunately, it was Bush. Otherwise, Bush was ON So was Schmidt. I haven't seen Schmidt like that since his Cy Young year in 04 (he won, didn't he?) We'll just have to buckle down and go get 'em tomorrow. I'll check in during my lunch break.
  21. Baseball Tonight said that they would be talking to David Bush on the show tonight. Or at least that's what they said last night. I seriously doubt that Bush would do the phone-in thing on BBTN if he, God forbid, got shelled.
  22. I've heard of Orlando Mercado (can't remember what team, though) Tom Nieto was a catcher for the Cardinal, I believe, in the late 80s early 90s. I've heard of Ron Tingley, too, but can't remember where he played. Dann Bilardello I was fasinated by when I was a kid, since he had the same first name as me, expect spelled in a really weird way. Played for the Reds, Expos, and maybe Cubs and Giants if I remember right. The other guys I haven't heard of either, though.
  23. at least Sheets, with his 6 innings, has now gone over the 1000 IP mark for his career. (Press Pass paying off dividends)
  24. I noticed on my guide that channel 642 is no longer RSalt but instead labeled as FNWI!!!!! Does that mean they finally heard our pleas and we're getting the actual WI version of FSN????? Maybe tonight they're just screwed up in getting it set up???
