  1. For the short term, yeah, I'd love to see Ohka's pattern to continue. But just for tonight. Then I want him to start a different pattern. How about good start-good start-good start-average start-good start-good start-average start, etc. etc. with maybe a bad start thrown in every once in a while with the offense keeping them in the game (aka slugfest)
  2. that's a good question. I thought Press Pass was a pay service.
  3. bottom line? Aaron Harang owns us lately and our guys were overly agressive. inning 1= 9 pitches inning 3= 11 pitches inning 4= 10 pitches inning 5=10 pitches at least our one rally we showed that we could work the count. Result= 23 pitches. We need to do that more often.
  4. what is going on? I go out to do some yard work and I'm listening to the game. --Davis with no control, again! --no patience at the plate --Aaron Harang, on 3 days rest, continues to own us! Yes, I realize that it's early but jiminy Christmas. I just about broke my rake in half when DD walked his 4th of the inning!
  5. .500!!!! oh, you mean, this isn't August of last year? what'd I do, fall asleep again?
  6. well, there's the offense we've been looking for. Let's hope it continues. In addition, I hope Bush doesn't rest on his laurels here and allow the Reds to get back in the game, ala what Houston did to us earlier this week.
  7. I'm glad to say that I'm staying up late tonight to drink, then driving up to Vegas tomorrow night to get drunk again and gamble my rump off. Hoooooray Beer!
  8. Let's see, it's the guy's first career start. Wonderful. We're bound for 1 run on 3 hits tonight.
  9. ah, nothing like getting up at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and turning on the ballgame getting ready to start. It's a nice feature of living in Pacific Time Zone (NFL Rocks, too)
  10. I think alot of the stuff with kids is aimed particularly at getting them to get an attachment to the game, especially since most kids play/watch football, basketball, soccer, professional wrestling, video games, etc. but NOT baseball. This is especially true in bigger cities. Just my 2 cents
  11. I laughed at the Dback guys when they said that, too
  12. I shouldn't have to ask. . . . but what is Ueck and Jim talking about that is so classic? I'm stuck having to listen to Thom Brenneman and Mark Grace as they black out the Brewers TV feed here in AZ (I know the rules of why, no need to explain). Guess I should have listened to Ueck. (except the feeds would not have matched, since I can't tivo the over the air feed that I'm receiving of Dbacks TV)
  13. how many infield hits have the Pirates had this series? It seems like alot! I think it's only 3 or 4, though
  14. BUH-BYE!!!! That is just Gross!!!! AWESOME!
  15. nice twin killing. LET'S GET SOME MORE RUNS!
  16. With all of that said, I think that when there is one out with a runner on first and second, with an awful hitter up, Moeller for example, the last thing I want him to do is hit a ground ball, because it kills the inning, and if he whiffs, Clark is up to drive in those runs. Wouldn't the pitcher be batting after Moeller and kill the inning (likely) anyways? Clark would not follow Moeller.
  17. apparently the Scrubs don't want us scouting their pitchers when they hit. Lord knows we shouldn't know how to pitcjh to Greg Maddux and a chorus of minor leaguers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  18. Ugh, I log into mlb.com's gameday audio and at 12:45 AZ time, it's talk about Packers on TMJ! Not what I want to hear. I know they don't start broadcasting for another 5 minutes, but I'd rather hear dead air. It's baseball season! Who cares about the Packers right now? I love the Pack just as much as the next guy but . . . .
  19. I know some of you are disappointed but we Arizonans REALLY need the rain. I'm especially looking forward to the weather, since it is supposed to snow! Yay!
  20. I just like the fact that some of us can't make up our minds-- we complain when we don't spend money and raise payroll, but on another post elsewhere on the site, I'll read people complaining that we have an "ever-increasing salary total" and it needs to be reduced by trading Lee, Jenkins, whoever else. Which is it? Spend money and be the Braves, Red Sox, Yankees, et al.? Or start slashing salary ala Oakland, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh? I'm all for prospects getting some playing time but we need veterans, too, and they cost money. Some of these topics become so wishy-washy sometimes (and I'm a culprit, too, before anyone goes ballistic on me)
  21. My wife and I made a bet prior to the inning that the Brewers would/would not get Davis off the hook for the loss. The loser had to take a shot. Needless to say, it was the best shot of rum I've had in a while. I really didn't see the Miller HR coming but I was SO very happy to take that shot! And, no, I didn't really want to see the Brewers lose. Mostly, it was something fun for my wife and I because I was pretty sure the Brewers would come back and would be willing to take the drink. But if they hadn't, more power to me, since then the misses is taking a shot which increases the odds of having a really good night.
  22. just for informational purposes: for those of us outside the FSN North viewing area, I called Directv last night during the game to let them know about the added game, thinking that giving them a head start on the angry calls may get the game on the schedule and broadcast in full (rather than them finally switching it on in the latter innings). The supervisor that I talked to was quite confused at first, thinking that it was a makeup game from a previous rainout. I reiterated the situation again and again, and I think he understood by the time I did get off the phone. The supervisor said he'd do what he could. As of an hour before the game, it's still not on the schedule. So I'll be calling again. I recommend others do this too, if they wish to see the game. Oh, I'll give them the heads up on Sunday's game, too, I suppose.
