  1. I haven’t seen anything anywhere about when Jackson “felt it again” but my speculation is that it didn’t occur on that long foul ball in the corner to end an inning, but rather on the double play grounder that Swanson threw into left field. Jackson had to side-step/hesitate step Busch to avoid getting tripped and that is when I believe that he probably “felt it”. A hesitation move like that involving some quick semi-unnatural movement would do it, I would think. But who knows?
  2. I know it’s not optimal, but I could totally see Murphy using Miz after Ashby instead of Priester, solely to get him work at home rather than at Wrigley, where he might be more apt to nerves (maybe?) Or maybe he uses Miz AFTER Priester goes through the lineup once. I really don’t care and anything I speculate is just for fun; I just want to win the game. I don’t care how they get there on the mound. heck, maybe this will all become academic after we jump out to another big lead (or *gulp* the opposite)
  3. Well, yes, I already know that. But why is it suddenly okay to have 13 inning games in the post-season?
  4. I still don’t understand why they play with one set of extra inning rules during the season and then a completely different set in the post-season.
  5. They did. I think I have it on an old video tape from 1988.
  6. I believe that I recently read that they changed the K-ball rules. Before, kickers and punters could play with them just a little bit during pregame. But now, the restrictions are gone. Kickers and punters can truly break in the k-balls to their specifications during the week, warm up with them on the sideline, etc. The article went on to explain that this is why there is a rise in 55+yard field goal attempts this year and why coaches are fine with kickers trying 60+ like it’s nothing. wish I could remember where I read that, though
  7. You’re not alone. I have always thought the same thing. Absolutely NONE of that video sounds like Uecker. None. yes, I seem to remember Ueck being down in the clubhouse, too.
  8. At least the 17 in a row in August is virtually guaranteed to not need any rain-caused doubleheaders.
  9. I'm in three leagues already, but several contests (including a guillotine league). I'm game if you do it.
  10. Ortiz is like the Jim Gantner (well, sorta). Meh hitter but a really good glove
  11. Man, what a crowd on a Monday night versus the Pirates!!! Good on them, listening to Murph and getting out to the ballpark on a week night
  12. I’m not sure where else to put this so I’ll put it here. Is there something going on between Brian Anderson and Bill Schroeder that they have not partnered up much at all lately? It seems that every time BA is back they’ve got Dillard or Vinny in the booth and Schroder’s nowhere to be seen and when BA is gone and Levering is in the booth there’s Bill right back again. I know that BA rips on Rock all the time making fun of him, etc. but I’ve got to wonder if it’s not just a health thing but Rock just has had enough of that and would rather work with Jeff who is nicer to him. i’m probably reading too much into this. But it’s just something I’ve noticed over the last month or so.
  13. The indoor rain is kinda comical. And not a really good look for the ballpark commission (or whatever it’s called).
  14. 3 @ WSH 3-0 3 @ ATL 1-2 3 vs NYM 2-1 3 vs PIT 3-0 3 @ CIN 2-1 5 @ CHC 3-2 3 vs SF 2-1 4 vs AZ 3-1 3 @ TOR. 1-2 20-10 is what I come up with. That seems rather optimistic.
  15. I guess I made my comment kinda tongue in cheek, but I concur with your evaluation.
  16. Well, Chourio pulls his hammy tonight. It wasn’t bad—reminded me of Frelick’s from a couple weeks ago. He’s young, but I would anticipate a day off tomorrow, and then the scheduled day of Thursday before the Brewers decide to do something.
  17. This tells me that the Brewers need to raise ticket prices. And by a fairly decent chunk of change. If the Dodgers can get that much in gate receipts, we should at be able to approach the same (they won’t reach it, but they could at least close the gap by a lot.)
  18. I watched this in my backyard with my projector and big screen. Watching the last half hour of the movie under the stars was pretty amazing. It made me keep looking up, just in case. 😉
  19. A half game separates us from being the team with the best record in baseball (notice that I did not say that they are the best team in baseball 🙃) edit: oops, I guess it’s a full game, not half game. My source was incorrect
  20. I can't help to remember/recall that it seems just about every year there is one team that has a crummy first couple of months, playing sub .500 ball, and disappointing the fanbase, but then jumps out like gangbusters for the remainder of the season and rides this through a deep and meaningful playoff (and, yes, sometimes World Series) run. Are we this year's example?
  21. Depending on what they were to get back, I’d be fine with them dealing him. Never really like the acquisition to begin with. I would definitely give him 3 starts after the all star break to “showcase” him, though.
  22. Unfortunately, the local butcher shop is pretty poor. And the next closest is a good 45-minutes away. I appreciate the comments
  23. A few weeks ago, my wife had mentioned that there was a new "Knives Out" movie coming out soon. Of course, Facebook/Siri/whatever was apparently listening, so over the next couple of days, I kept getting tons of ads for knives and swords on Facebook. So, naturally, I yelled at my phone, "Hey, Facebook AI, I don't need any actual knives! My wife was talking about a movie! Now what I would like to see is more hot babes and smoked meats!" And, yes, quite quickly, several meat company ads and smoking meats groups started showing up on my feed like clockwork. Anyway . . . this is a round-about way of asking if anybody have any experience with Butcher Box or other similar online meat source? Since I keep seeing the ads, I might as well as if they are worth the cost, etc. for my own information as well as any other Brewerfanatic members that might be thinking the same thing! Thanks in advance! EDIT: I'm adding in a mention that, no, the AI did NOT suddenly start showing me hot babes on my feed. So, obviously, this AI still needs a lot of work.
