  1. I gotta be honest. This season has been great! I say this because I have hardly watched any of the games. Those few times I did tune in, they lost. Badly. So now the wife and I decided no more watching the games and they’ve done really well! Coincidence? Yeah, probably. But less stress and more “free time” for us not watching the games! I suppose when it comes to tournament time, I’ll tune in just on principle.
  2. Ha! That didn't take long! Didn't they just make those "Aaron Judge-proof" moves of the wall just a couple of years ago? Too funny!
  3. Redraft leagues can be awesome if you have the same type of guys you describe. I’m the commissioner of a league that’s been going for almost 30 years with many of the current members being there from the start. Great camaraderie and friendships!!! It CAN happen in redraft leagues too. The dynasty league I’m in (ironically, it’s the one started up on the LambeauLeap site years ago) just doesn’t have the same camaraderie to me, mostly because everyone in the league is basically just an anonymous name on the internet, we never really just talk about anything, rule changes/improvements are only made with some ridiculous tooth-pulling, and sometimes it’s just not fun. But I still enjoy the building of my franchise and retooling when necessary. Fantasy football is just awesome, though.
  4. Based on the book? I read that in grade school!
  5. Yup, but I still find it amusing that they took the maximum number of games to get that streak snapped.
  6. He did but decided he missed it and wanted one more playoff run. I guess he will be done done after the post-season.
  7. That is your opinion, of course, but to me, it's not close to a true statement. Brian has gone nuts plenty of times for Brewers home runs. These dingers by the Yankees are just that much more astounding due to playoffs, 8th inning, come-from-behind, against an absolute beast of a dominant closer. I can think of several Ryan Braun bombs that BA sounded like he was ready to jump out of the press box to join the team on the field. Regardless, if you feel that this was more nuts than normal . . . well, you might be right, but don't say that he was never nuts for the Brewers.
  8. Keep in mind that Costas is a Yankee fan but trying to keep it as neutral as he can. Which he didn't do very well on that triple compared to the Stanton HR, for example.
  9. I seriously believe that in the next decade or so MLB will copy the NBA and have a mid-season tournament just for kicks. It would be best-of-one all the way til the end. And it would be a cash cow. Especially if they play the whole tournament over one week, in various locations like the WBC. Heck, they could rotate the “title game” so every MLB city gets to host it once every 30 years. Okay, maybe this wouldn’t happen. But I wouldn’t be shocked at all. What does this have to do with this thread? Well, maybe this would be our best chance to “win it all.” LOL
  10. Huh, I literally though that I was that guy. It happened at least five times in my younger/collegiate years.
  11. Not necessarily. Last season, I still had not received my refund “automatically” until I called my ticket rep. In January.
  12. Well, I figure I had better made a final comment. im glad that the Crew came back to win. I really am. This whole post season is, to me, gravy and I really need to just enjoy the ride. have fun watching tomorrow, everyone. I’ll be taxiing to the runway about first pitch time tomorrow. I hope the pilot will give me updates since Allegiant doesn’t have WiFi.
  13. *sigh* I got nothin’ (I’m so out of this game.)
  14. Shocker: MLB app has Mets radio audio but Brewers radio audio is dead air. living out of market sometimes sucks oh, and yay double play to limit the damage. Still already has an 8-1 Brewer loss “feel” to this game
  15. I was so optimistic yesterday but still tempered my expectations and excitement. Today, I am extremely pessimistic and have been dreading even watching the game. All these years of watching have, sadly, conditioned me. [insert sad face here]
  16. Skubal’s dad is the principal at my school. We’ve had plenty of interesting conversations about baseball and players from Tarik has told him. Tarik is a pretty nice guy, too.
  17. The Brewers had better sweep the series. If there is a game three, they'll be throwing the first pitch just about the time our flight to Appleton takes off from Vegas. And I'm pretty sure Allegiant doesn't offer in-flight wi-fi.
  18. I might have my set (421, row 2) available for game one. Gotta find out if my in-laws are gonna use 'em.
  19. Heh, he makes a couple of appearances in season two, I believe. That was a really good show!
  20. Kinda sad we didn’t go to the last two games, but both of them woulda frustrated me in the stands so I’m glad I saved my money and watched on tv. hoping for the sweep today, but it’s hard to do.
  21. Unfortunately, I have to hope for one of two things: a) That they release the movie onto a streaming service (besides Bally's) b) That it's still playing somewhere in the Fox Cities area when I'm visiting Wisconsin in the first week of October.
  22. One would think. I know a friend who went to a concert a couple weekends ago and just sweat through his shirt. And he was sitting right below a vent that normally is blowing ice cold air. theyre not fixing it, I’ve heard, because the team is trying to get a new stadium. The county or city owns the ballpark but wants the team to pay for the repairs. Or something like that
  23. We were going to go, too, but I keep hearing from friends who go to games and concerts there that it is unbearable at times, depending on where you’re sitting, because the AC is broken in the stadium. The wife just doesn’t want to sit there and sweat the whole game.
  24. As I was drifting off to sleep, I swear the announcers were going nuts because the radar reading was 106mph.
