  1. Record: 84-78 Playoffs: No MVP: Braun Surprise: Scooter does fine as a full timer. Khris Davis hits 30 hrs. Disappointment: At least one 7-game losing streak. A-Ram hits 15 HR. Rotation averages under 6 innings per start. All Star: Gomez, Lucroy, Braun Bold Prediction: Brewers win 14 games vs. Reds this year. Play .500 ball vs. rest of division. Play .400 ball vs. everybody else.
  2. Let's see . . . Monday, no school. Nice! Brewers Opening Day at 11 am (well, 10 am, since I'll actually watch the pre game show.) Nice!!! Grilling out beer brats. Nice!!!! Badgers in the title game at 6 pm! NICE!!!!!!! School the next day . . . Not so nice. Might just be a "movie" day in my classroom, as I likely will have no voice.
  3. if they call, I'll join in (from AZ). If not, whatever.
  4. I heard on MLB Radio this morning that Olivera's physical showed a partially torn UCL. Whoops.
  5. Didn't I win last year? I'm in again regardless.
  6. I can't complain. It's another event to cross off my Sports Bucket List--Wisconsin Badgers as a #1 seed.
  7. I wanted to read the rest of the comments but it's at something like 398 comments (and counting, I'm sure) and I already met my quota of Cardinals articles for the year.
  8. The only reason that a lot of those "classic" uniforms (that others, including me, call "boring") like the Yankees, Dodgers, Tigers, Cardinals, etc. are "classics" and rank near the top of these kind of "best uniforms" lists is their history of winning. Not to mention that they also didn't ever really deviate much from the originals. If the Brewers would have had a history of winning with the ball and glove (I mean, more than just getting to the World Series in '82, but winning it and several more in the next 10-20 years after that) I believe they would still be using it today as their main logo. The same "could" possibly be said for the current set of uniforms/logo if they could reel off 3 titles in 5 years such as the Giants.
  9. Hear, hear! I can't believe so many people do this. In between innings? Okay, maybe. But during the game itself? Ludicrous. I've actually seen several people walk right into others on the concourse walk right into people because their face is stuck in their smartphone screen. Once somebody fell down the cement stairs going down to their seats for the same reason. Really? On topic, I don't get to many Miller Park games (living in AZ will do that to a person) but I've been satisfied with the offerings they give you. edit: forgot to ask, what is the Season Seat Holder Headquarters supposed to be? Anything special at all?
  10. I saw that too this evening and thought, "Um, that's not Madison."
  11. Um, I think it's still the official logo of PITCH League Baseball. Our former tabletop baseball league used Pursue the Pennant (made in Brookfield, initially) and now uses Diamond Mind Baseball simulation software. We just celebrated our 25th year last season. edit: Whoops, it's the PITCH League Tournament logo. Our league had 10 teams in the post-season way before the majors did. They keep stealing our ideas!
  12. TSO has other albums, of course, but nobody cares about those. Same with Mannheim Steamroller. Both groups have plenty of albums--not nearly as good as the Christmas stuff.
  13. I've been looking forward to the game for about 2 weeks now. I'm hoping for a Badger blowout victory and as long as I'm dreaming I'll wish for a pony, too. Probably will be a good close game for the majority of the contest. Win or lose, the Badgers should be just fine.
  14. I'll believe it when I see it. Didn't he, essentially, say the same thing about his thumb feeling 100% last February? It didn't last long. However, I can be optimistic, as well, and hope that it did, indeed, work and he will return to being a power bat that is worth the big contract.
  15. I'm really looking forward to watching Game 7 tonight! These games are usually very special and not just because someone wins the title. My wife and I were at Game 7 of the 2001 World Series and there are tons of memories from that game that I will go to the grave with. The tension, the anxiety, the excitement, the numbness. And that's just from the fans! I can't imagine what it'd be like for the players. Finally, I'm very happy for the Royals and their fans. It's got to be an almost "out of this world" experience for them--win or lose. I'm really hoping that the Brewers will give their fans this opportunity someday.
  16. I told my wife after three batters in the 2nd inning, "This smells of 2001 game six which we attended." She smiled and nodded. Twenty minutes later, "Wow, you were right for once." Thanks, dear.
  17. The guys on MLB Radio this afternoon said (paraphrasing), "Don't be surprised to see Mark Attanasio make a move for him as well." Take that for what it's worth.
  18. I saw this option for the complete set of All-Fan giveaways as well yesterday. The fine print says "One full set per account" rather than per seat. Also I'm guessing you will receive a voucher that would allow you to claim your set after the 2015 season is over or something like that.
  19. MLB books rooms in every MLB playoff team's city for this purpose. Obviously, when a team is eliminated, those rooms are released back to the public.
  20. This isn't weird at all. MLB had to plan out schedules to assume that each championship series would go the full seven games so the World Series dates were set out WAY in advance. This allows for people/corporations/sponsors to plan with hotel rooms, rental cars, etc. WAY in advance. Of course, these plans can be blown up with some rain outs of World Series games but at least the plan was in place. I'm sure MLB could have moved the games up but it would have been a complete and utter disaster from a logistics standpoint for them.
  21. I have asked in the past about flights since I live in Arizona . They do not give you any special sort of deal. In fact I asked if they would pay for my flight back to Milwaukee in the summer instead ( for the reunion) and they said no.
  22. I was TOTALLY waiting for and expecting Buster Keaton to show up in a scene somewhere. That was really cool!
  23. I don't think Joe Buck was excited enough on the Adams home run. Oh, and way to be classy. Hit ball. Stand at the plate for 1-2 seconds to point to the sky. Begin slow trot to first. When ball clears fence, do a total hop in the air and point toward the dugout with glee. If ANYBODY else in the league (AL or NL) does this, they are frowned upon and shunned as "violating some unspoken respect for the game."
