    hey all, I'm trying to fix a problem for my wife. For a couple of weeks now she has been unable to read the articles on tvguide.com. The home page opens just fine but any article that she clicks on only opens to the title of the article and then a white screen. Those annoying "transferring data from googleanalytics" and other sites stay in the lower corner of the screen but never seem to disappear. I know I had a problem with that at one time but I don't remember how to block those/avoid those so she can actually read the articles. Can anybody help me out? It seems like there are tons of stuff transferring data as we've "let it do it's thing" for 20 minutes at a time and it's still going strong. I'm not sure what to do. I've tried adding stuff to adblockplus but it's not working. She's using XP by the way and Firefox as her browser. Thanks in advance! edit: Changed the title like I meant to originally but never did until I remembered to do so an hour later.

    that's why I thought LF was the easier position, since, statistically, that player would be involved in fewer plays than a 1B would. Whatever. I just brought it up as an observation/opinion. This is getting way off topic (as is a good portion of this thread)

    I thought it was left field. That's why they would put a relief pitcher in left field in those (very rare) instances where they bring a new reliever into the game to pitch but don't want to lose the other reliever so they put him in left field for a batter and then bring him back in afterward. On the infield, though, sure 1B is the easiest position. Everybody knows that.

    I haven't seen the Braves pull Dan Uggla from their lineup and he's had a bad season overall. Sure he had the hit streak and has 28 bombs, but he's had a bad season. Should he lose his spot? Just checking.Get back to me when McGehee goes on a 1.100 OPS tear over 40 games.I'm sorry. My bad. I should have said, "Should he have lost his spot prior to the hitting streak?" Would that be a good enough equivalent to McGehee's season for you?

    You're going to get on McGehee for making an out in a 7-1 game after he hit a 2-run homer in his previous AB?He's had a bad season and deserved to lose his spot.     what have we seen of Gamel at 1B? Most of us haven't seen him in the minors this season playing 1B. In my opinion (note: that means, this is not a fact), Gamel played 3B like a slightly improved version of Ryan Braun at 3B. Which means that I wasn't all that impressed. He looked slow and unsure of his footwork and his arm was very erratic. How does that translate to playing 1B? Not entirely sure but the arm only is a factor, for the most part, on plays at the plate (since we have the infield in so much) and on relay throws. But slowness and footwork issues could very well be just as good as Prince, worse than Prince, or better than Prince. And, again, my opinion, there is no way that Gamel will replace Fielder's numbers at the plate. Or his leadership. Or his smile. Or his goofy laugh. I said it three years ago and I'll say it again: Gamel, to me, seems like a Greg Brock type player at best for his career. On topic, I am glad to see Weaver get this extension. He has CERTAINLY deserved it. I, too, believe that he enjoys the West Coast and was probably a factor in going over Boras' head (speculation here) and re-upping with the Angels.

    They don't make either game for the PC anymore so I'll be playing my 13th season of NCAA '99 and a modded version of Madden '08 with the new schedule and rosters (when they're released in Oct./Nov.). That said, I always liked how Madden put the defending champs as a "focal point" of the game, using them in the demo, screens, etc. Plus some bumps on the ratings. I'd probably pick Madden to play right away and then NCAA when it's on sale/clearance. Is it just me or is Madden releasing late this year. Isn't the annual "Merry Maddenmas" around August 8th-10th or so? Was the lockout the reason it's so late?

    I'll have to revisit this thread after I read the article in the magazine. I paid for the subscription so I might as well read it from the source that is paid for.

    oh, warningtrackpower, I should ban you for that! Thanks for ruining my evening! I'm bound to have nightmares! Still, and all, that's a nice job of coming up with that. I was pretty against all this and still am for the most part, but I'll admit it's been a fun ride watching the numbers get smaller a whole heck of a lot faster than I thought they ever would. Seriously, 26 on August 22nd!?!?!

    It's nuts down here. Some schools started at the beginning of August. August 15th is actually LATE for Atlanta. I almost feel bad for the kids.My kids started school on July 25th in Chandler Arizona... Year round school... Crazy stuff! dang, I miss the year round school. When we had it, it was the greatest three years of my teaching life. On topic, YAY Brewers! As for Prince, you could clearly hear him utter out a vulgarity after he hit the ball and while he was running out of the batter's box. It was my assumption, as well, that Byrdak took it the wrong way and responded to it. Prince should have just let it go, really, instead of approaching Byrdak to explain himself. Probably should have done so after the game in a calm manner (not like Prince did in LA a couple of years ago.) Missed the post-game presser. What was up with Roenicke?

    yeah, I'm pretty sure Bill and Brian (or any of the other guys that do pre- and post-game show stuff) would be reprimanded for going off on the Brewers in a harsh way. Depending on the severity of their comments, they could be fired, too, I would guess. Plus, you have to remember that these announcers are with these players for about 180 days of the year and have to interact with them on a daily basis. Why would they jeopardize their career and the good thing they have going just to say the same things that fans on message boards are saying?
