  1. Between you and Tony Blengino there's two guys with Brewers connections writing some awesome stuff for those of us who love to get a peak at the business side of things. I really appreciate how forthcoming you are about this stuff. I was wondering if your podcast is still going on? The link above didn't work and I couldn't find it searching through the itunes store.
  2. Nope, best person in the world.
  3. courtesy of mccalvy Kyle Lohse: "You know what? [The D-backs] won tough-guy points today. But I don't know where the stats are for those." just about says it all
  4. only 2 bombs and a single a bit of an off night, i'm sure he'll do better tomorrow
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BASED LUCROY AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  6. Just the kind of behavior you can expect from the DBacks. At least they didn't try to take his head off like they did with Grienke last year.
  7. ZIPS/steamer projects Shawn Zarranga as the eighth best rookie eligible player by WAR. Doesn't really mean anything, but I'll take any positive mention of a Brewers minor leaguer I can get. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-top-10-prospects-currently-by-projected-war-2/ what's his option/minor league free agent situation? any chance he finds his way onto the 40 man and a call up this september?
  8. Yesterday we dropped one we should have won and today we stole one we should have lost with how dominant Latos was. In the end everything evens out.
  9. Hey tie game! also i can't stand watching the Brewers on national broadcasts, the announcers always make me cringe.
  10. Why so much hand wringing about Braun recently? So he's hitting like a .180 over his last ten days, he hit .450 over the ten days before that. You're talking about sample sizes that are literally meaningless. Braun has been doing just fine this year. After his struggles to start the season and the talk about the hand injury I remember reading posts saying his career was probably over, and he should be platooned or sit down for a couple days. Turns out ten days of plate appearances aren't all that predictive.
  11. The article isn't that funny, but this line made me laugh. http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2014/6/6/5786338/mlb-draft-grades-2014-first-round this was a pretty good gag, looking up the royals draft history will give you malware http://cdn1.vox-cdn.com/assets/4575199/Screen_Shot_2014-06-06_at_8.42.58_AM.png he should have just done a couple teams he had good jokes for instead of trying to do every team in the first round
  12. I don't know, man. His decision to bring in a reliever to specifically deal with Irving Falu worked. eh... that wasn't an awful move considering all the brewers best bench guy is a lefty the pitcher has to be declared before the batter so he had to bring in the lefty to keep gennett out of the game
  13. Who else can remember a time when they though Eveland was going to be a total stud?
  14. Not that this needs to be super complicated, but as long as were talking about it... Would scoring guys based on points/ballots solve the skewing problem? To use your example player B would rank ahead of player A with 35.5 points vs 32 in the 2 ballot situation and 33.67 to 32 in the 3 ballot situation. I'm not much of a mathematician so i don't know if this would cause another problem. EDIT: yeah that would cause a problem for a player ranked really high on one or two ballots and unranked on everyone elses, but there is probably some way to do a sanity check.
  15. wow, so is gomez really fast or was that just bad defense probably a little bit of both
  16. love to watch lucroy when he's on his game he's such a great all around hitter
  17. I fully support BA in his anti greeting card pro hustle double stances. Nice to hear some real talk on the broadcast.
  18. They also ran into some bad luck with off the field stuff for Tim Beckham and Josh Sale. It's a good reminder how difficult it is to draft well consistently, and that even 'smart' teams run into tough stretches.
  19. How about Lyle Overbay and Rickie Weeks for Price, Zobrist and Longoria as long as we're being silly.
