  1. He's got 5days to adjust and have ingrained more discipline. Big Ten Conference play may let him have more active hands, more contact w/o a whistle. Just play more standing up and reach in less. Let the score dictate need on aggressiveness or your fouls-Time remaining
  2. My word, Thames is a mini-Hulk...the Green one not the wrestler. The inforcer I hope when there's a scrum with either Cubs or Cardinals. Cardinals most likely as I think we have a chance to have a better record than them
  3. Stunned I tell ya! When Koenig wrongfully got his 4th foul (im clueless to his first 3 fouls occurring ) I thought the game was over. Hayes stepped up with clutch scoring. In a sense, I feel the foul trouble worked in the Badgers favor, as Hart and Nova's Bronson (sp?) Seemed gungho sloppy trying to get Happ or Koenig to foul out. Missed FTs again, but it kept the game tight and not a Nova strategy to make 3s. B2B Turnover tie-ups of Hart and the refs swallowing the whistle (clean imo both just unlike the cruddy calls earlier that would have had whistles to both) was simply amazing.
  4. I dont wear Packers to Brewers' games, But Badgers I will from time to time. ItsWisconsin you know which includes Milwaukee. Whereas Packers are Green Bay representing. So I apologize I offend you. As to wearing other MLB team hats. Nope I won't do that. If I were to buy another team hat, I'd wear it only in that city if I were watching a game Not vs the Brewers.
  5. Well the game yesterday? Had Nelson start, Peralta finish. Maybe theyll do that going forward Piggyback the two. Or its aligned that way to be winner gets the nod.
  6. That was not fun. Went away from shooting 3s, every dribble drive from the top of the key seemed to result in turnovers. I dunno what to say. They had guys making every midrange jumper and the misses was a free for all on Offensive rebounds. MU needs a rim protector hopefully theres someone coming in the next class.
  7. I think you just keep the 4 on the roster when the time comes. Im not 100% to Brinson being the insert to everyday lineup producer. The bb rate has concerns. I still think he'd get 50 games starting rotating days off. And it's not like Broxton/Santana have been injury proof, nevermind Braun's aging injury concerns. I feel I started this renewed ferver of Broxton conversation when I suggested what by the numbers he should be worth, should he be an 800+ OPS even around 30% k rate. It wasn't a call to trade him, just an idea what it should begin with in a headline. Brewers are in a great position because between the 3 of Broxton, Santana, and Brinson a valuable player will come in any trade between the 3.
  8. 7 for Milw 6 for Pitts but really it's 4 to this point as Glasnow/Bell will graduate probably first month for removal as prospect. So 4, 4, 3, and 2 for the division. Gotta Like that for the future! Bickford and Diplan must be close. Dubon/Clark not far. I mean holy cow! 2years with some of these additions and if we're thinking up to 80 win potential today, 90s would be the avg for 3-5years right? Sorta like the Rays not long ago.
  9. Nigel Hayes made 8FTs in a row after missing front end of 1&1 in 1st half. Koenig's 3pt shooting. And WI only won by 10. There is very little to better this Badger Team's game output vs. what you'd hope they'd do. Happ could have supplied some more Offense and that's about it. Even Iverson went 7/10 at FTs for an upper 50% shooter. The moment Koenig comes back to reality vs how he's been shooting 3pts. They'll be dumped hard. 31 3pt attempts vs 29 2pt FG attempts. Villanova- 17 3pt tries, 43 2pt tries. That concern is a continuation from the Michigan game. Well the stats don't compare, but watching both games, having the shot clock run down, expiring in the Michigan game. This game they got them off and Koenig made a few. I'm just watching the game late in the 2nd half and must have been 3 possessions in a row the ball never spent one dribble past the 3pt line until there were 7secs or less on the shot clock. They were passing, but just around the outside of the 3pt line. Happ is working hard and it was like, There! pass him the ball! whoops 2 secs go by and he's covered. To get pretty close to peak performance from Hayes, Koenig, and Iverson where they made 7 straight FTs and yet up only 1 pt with 6:30 to go. 2 more makes by Hayes to make a 72-71 game a 3pt lead. I'm just saying, that all happened while it was a 1 possession game. 9 made FTs vs a typical 4-5 misses by those two. Koenig's last made 3 was with 5:21 to go and he missed his last 4 attempts. Sorry, I just know this game is a big confidence booster to WI fans, but I know it will be a big fall coming up. Guess what Im saying is this is the type of performance you'd hope vs. Villanova to win, and it was likely used up to beat a 9 seed
  10. Im thinking a lot of mistakes like I made on Canadian $17 vs 12.78 US I clearly am not in this with the first trade pop. Beyond what I look for. Kinda lame, the "Public" offering opened at 18 and today closed just over 16. Now the stock board says up 25% but truthfully its down like 11% ahh, to be rich and buy the true IPO stock offering last night. Would been 40+% gain selling the open MuleSoft priced at $17 from the initial 12-14. And opened for public trading at 24.40. Yep Another one bites the dust for the public. Rich? Another 45% take overnight. I just don't get it on how people buy in at such an initial jump. It's at 25.16 now and that's 3.5% from Open. To get 33% it would have to reach $32.45 Over twice the Initial IPO price offering. Near twice the actual Priced at. Sigh.
  11. This was my 1st bracket and only one thus far. Will do a little study and more brackets tonight Duke over Nova Kansas over Oregon Arizona over Notre Dame UCLA over UNC Arizona over Duke Kansas over UCLA Arizona over Kansas 80-70 Had Wichita St, Mid Tennessee, and Michigan as the Sweet 16 upsets.
  12. Here's how crazy IPOs are at the moment. Ardagh group priced at 19 yesterday. Up to 22.91 at close today +20% Goos that canadian goose jacket company has been priced at $17 opening for trade tomorrow. Original range was a $14-16 and prices essentially +20% already. Likewise Mulesoft probably to be priced tomorrow and open for trade Friday has raised it's offering from 12-14 to 14-16 which low to high is 33% before even opening for trade. We'll see if I can get in for under $18 on Goos and $17-17.50 on Mulesoft which I feel best about. But I'm thinking both will open for trade at 20 or higher immediately leaving me to wait. Just love how the average investor is left to scraps and paying off the rich. edit: Crud, the Goos pricing was in Canadian $$$ so It comes to 12.78 per in US dollar supposedly.
  13. If simply waived and not traded. Wouldn't a team who claimed Garza be on the hook for 550k of his salary and the Brewers the rest? As well as they gain his option control? So talking letting him walk and a team potentially pick him up for 2 years/1.5million or 2/5.5million?
  14. In 31 ABs he's got 3HRs, 2 2bs, 1 3b and 2 SBs though says caught 3 times oops. Even with 32% K rate when he returned, He took his .441OPS to .784 by season's end. And he's got great numbers ongoing in this ST. He doesn't have to drop his K rate much and especially not if he's going to carry an .800+ OPS, which seems very capable with his HRs and OB and near finish above .800 after that horrid start. Only 6 CFs had an OPS above .800 with as many ABs as Broxton. Jackie Bradley carried a .267 BA with an approximate 23% K rate last season. 5.3WAR(via ESPN) Joc Pederson approx. 27.5% K finished at .246 3.4WAR(via ESPN) Both are not SB threats like Broxton. So I would consider that Broxton's window .245-.265 but with .350 OB like these two and an over .800OPS. This puts him in that 3.5-5.5 WAR which may be higher with defense/SB activity. Pederson was a top 20 prospect, Bradley a 23-50 top prospect. So putting that in perspective since he would be in a similarity of these two and proving this value. You have to assess him in the 15-45 type range for a headlining prospect in a trade. And then + or ++ since he's cheap and controllable as well as proving. I doubt many fans would be upset on what it did cost in prospects to get him, if he's being a 25-30HR 45SB type.
  15. Someone mentioned high BA but not so high an OPS. Is that wrong to be? Personally, Catchers aren't great to begin with. Give me passable defense and I'll take that high BA any day. Catchers arent exactly base running threats so does a High OB really have to matter? For their level you are batting them 8th generally if they are like basic catchers. Maybe 7th. Take Salvador Perez. Very positive defensively. Higher than 2WAR the last 3 years even though his BAs were .260/.260/.247 and OB was .289/.280/.288 Sure He hits 15-20HRs but I mean he's a very highly thought of catcher even though in 3 years his highest OPS is .725. Any hitting from a catcher is a bonus, but it's not necessary to have a good hitting catcher to reach and win the WS. Perez batted mostly 7th for the Royals WS team. Pina and Bandy at the moment let Susac enjoy some hitting at AAA. This is a true Battle and currently Susac is losing.
  16. Vermont doesnt have a single top 100 team win if I recall properly. As to SC, they have dumped worse than the Badgers. Whats the big win in 2months? At least WI can say they beat Maryland/Minnesota/Northwestern lately.
  17. i think Middle Tennessee State beating Minnesota and Wichita State over Dayton are the 2 easiest upsets in the 1st round Ill follow that with Xavier over Maryland and Marquette over South Carolina. virginia and creighton. And you know somehow a Baylor/Oregon/UCLA/Cinncinnati/ or West Virginia will experience an upset though I believe all of them are going to win 1st round. my bracket buster would be UCLA so no doubt of them all it winds up being them
  18. Well, Just like that and he's over .700 OPS now in ST. Fears squashed MVP on the team 2017!
  19. How is Maryland a 6 if WI and Northwestern are 8s? Or Mich a 7? I nominate Maryland's seeding the worst overseed. 4-6 in last 10 games and given an at large higher than Mich/WI/NW after losing to WI/NW both down the stretch. Maybe it's because I'm looking at their bracketology and they happen to be 2-2 vs top 25 RPI and 5-4 vs top 50....Even though there's only Minnesota listed at 21 their 1 top 25 win. Awarded them a top 25 win that isn't there! haha.
  20. So he is certainly struggling this Spring Training. He'd have 58 days of service time. I wonder if the team would consider starting him in AAA if he's still showing struggles at the plate through all of ST? It'd be what? 72days? to rewind his clock an added year? You have Perez and Gennett who along with Villar can certainly fill you 2b/SS while you've sent him down. 1-13 with a walk this week. So this idea starts to set in based on the team's flexibility. Of course there's also the Eric Thames concern where Shaw winds up at 1b and Arcia is necessary for SS.
  21. Looking at MU vs. SC. SC's last big win was Jan 18 vs Florida. 2nd best win Nov 23rd vs Michigan. Another, how is WI seeded behind this team? For WI Virginia Tech has played Tourney teams in 8 of last 12 games including Virginia, Louisville, Florida St. Wake Forest, and Miami. Beaten Duke/Michigan. Man such a tough seeding WI got. Very much Hosed with the matchups being tough. Maryland with Xavier or Northwestern with Vandy a 19-15 at large. Way to reward them. They have some potential match-up concerns in their bracket and obviously Iowa State could be really problematic. ISU barely lost to KU at home and beat them when they played at KU. Probably someone they don't want to play. On the bright side Kansas gets home games in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 if they can make it there. For what it is worth I think Gonzaga got the easiest region and great match-ups for them. FWIW, you are right. Purdue/Nevada/Vermont are not really deserving of their seeds, Vermont doesn't even have 1 top 100 RPI win! Nevada's best win is Colorado St at 65 RPI. So I'm expecting a KU vs ISU sweet 16. But that just explains what I mean to the Midwest Region being a cakewalk. I'd expect Oregon vs KU in elite 8. I just think they are best by a lot in this Region. Gotta say, mean to put Iowa St. in same region as Kansas 1 of 2 losses to tournament teams and you'd have to face them in Sweet 16. Could have easily flip flopped ISU with UVA at 5 seeds to avoid such.
  22. Well, that didnt take long to have an answer. Wow on this East Bracket. WI at really a deserved 8, still plays great defense. That wont be an easy matchup for Villanova. Marquette a 10 seed. Already mentioned how their 3pt shooting will create problems, while still having an inside scorer plus FT shooting. To Face a Duke in 2nd rd who was being harped to be #1 potential. Add Baylor and SMU? What a grouping that will only have 1 advance to elite 8. Creighton a 6? Wow. Weakest Region no doubt now. Kansas to final 4. now Minnesota a 5seed? Like NC in this bracket the upsets for Milwaukee is huge possibility 12/13 seeds. Northwestern also an 8? Maryland a 6? Wow they really punished a WI team who finished 2nd in Big10 conference and made to championship game. I mean not only that but a win means facing the tournament #1. I always like Arizona, generally they are a lower seed. Ill take them in this Region.
  23. Based on the hype behind the numbers, theres no way Santana is traded without a return like Jon Gray. And the retread on this rockies was that Bettis going through cancer creates a need for a SP. Not moving OFs.
  24. So the last bracketology lists WI still a 6seed. Also Michigan would be placed a 6seed. Purdue a 4 seed. I'm going to guess the winner for today will find a 5seed and loser a 6seed. Midwest Big10 easy last minute flip flop. I'd guess the 5seed in Orlando in the East and the 6 seed in Sacramento in the South(where WI is placed in the 6seed) Marquette comes in as an 11seed. Matched vs. Saint Mary's. WI played it's best game I'd seen all season yesterday. Everyone contributed that you hoped would in the way that they do. Happ even hit FTs. Hayes took and made a 3pt shot. Koenig has made his jumpers, and Brown found a few 3pt makes surprising with the arch he puts on the ball. WI just makes sense to put on the 5 line for that classic 5/12 matchup. At 6 if they proceeded to the sweet 16, you'll just hear a Tourney successful/battle tested team shouldn't have been listed at 6 vs. so and so being put at 5 who lost day 1. But the current Seed in the south they would face UCLA at 3 if holds true.
  25. Via WalterFootball's top 100 ranked FAs TJ Lang was #7 to start and now is 1st remaining. Nick Mangold #21 an old Center is #2 Jonathon Hankins #24 a NT is #3 Dontari Poe #25 a NT is 4. Morris Claiborne #29 CB is 5. The Titans swiped the next 2 S/CB combo in John Cyprien and Logan Ryan...who the Patriots didn't resign and went with Gilmore. Last remaining top 50 S/CB besides Claiborne is T.J. McDonald who has a sidenote of T.J. McDonald had a rough offseason leading into 2016, coming off shoulder surgery and then being arrested for a DUI. However, none of this affected his play this season, as McDonald put together another decent campaign Not a Packer type with the DUI. Bennett was #51 and Kendriks was #11 ranked of TEs. Cook was #2 and only other ranked in 100 with Bennett. With the two TE signings, I'm expecting a first 4 or 5 draft selection all on defense. Probably a RB would be the breakup of the first 5 picks. Walter Football's mock by a Walt lists TJ Watt as the Packers pick. I sure hope we find some help for the secondary and pick a LB/Special Teams player in a later pick.
