  1. One LH bat on the bench would be more of an issue if we didn't now possess 3 LHB as starters. So overall there are 4 LHB. Which is more than last year's team, aside from the early Walsh/Flores experiment. And on a lineup like today with Aguilar instead of Thames now there are 2 LHBs on the bench. Out of MLB's top 10 ranking for Milw, we have 5 batters who are Left Handed. So the next thing in 2 years we'll be asking for RHB off the bench.
  2. Yikes, looking at the Box score, 1 hit total in 5IP off of Rockies Relievers. A group that I'd consider about equal in regard with the Brewers at this point....Though, Milone and Marinez giving up 2Runs fit exactly to what I fear about them. Milone just being bad, and Marinez outpitched himself last year and won't produce like he did for the Brewers last year.
  3. Nevermind his 2run double, or a working mans walk vs their closer. Doing everything you want for a leadoff batter. Now on the end, his defense cost a run I know of, i missed the early part of game, but Mr. Arcia runners on 2nd, 3rd 1out and swings at 1st two pitches and strikes out 2 pitches later. First 2 batters walk, Bandy Ks, and you have that AB needing to only put the ball somewhere in play. So which is worse? Someone needs to get Arcia to take that 1st pitch twice every game even if its a strike. He's so loaded up, like Gomez, that you throw a ball and watch them make it a swinging strike. Especially when the pitcher has walked 2 in the inning. I'll never get how batter #3 or 4 swing at 1st pitch after that. Regardless, there's better days ahead, and Baseball is Back! 6 months of this great time.
  4. Meanwhile, Braun can't even get his full name to himself. Hebrew Hammer works for BRef vs Ryan Braun search
  5. No, No, No that simply is not true. St Louis is a Small Market team why else do they get to participate in the Competitive Lottery, now set Pick or extra International funds?
  6. Surprised they signed him, and didnt let him go to FA with a QO that the Cubs would sign in FA. Molina hasnt been relevant with the bat for multiple yeats now. I have no clue how the Cardinals valued him this high or Molina asking for that much. 10mil sure. For 3 years or 12per for 2years. 20? Yep the Brewers traded Lucroy because this deal makes him worth 110mil for 4years now.
  7. I think people are underrating him. Project last years PAs to 600+ and hes pushing 25/45 thats gotta be 90runs. And ESPN adp was about 200 for him.
  8. I'm for this move for a Bullpen guy. Extreme Ground-ball pitcher for a Defense that should be well improved in the infield. Give him the ball when you remove SPs with men on base and let him get the Starter out of Jams. Best use I would think of.
  9. My Texas rumors. Keone Kela is being sent to AAA for an issue on something that happened in a "B" game and while the Rangers brass say he's not available, there are teams interested in him....So again with that trade idea to acquire him.
  10. Seeing as the Women's Championship game will feature South Carolina, consider me routing for both South Carolinas now in the Tourney. When's the last time they had a Championship? They may bring home two in b2b days!
  11. Seeing the Box Score from the Detroit game and Love it. The future put on display 4-7 3pt from both Maker and Middleton. Giannis 28pts, 14 rebounds and 9 assists. Add Brogdon just look out. That's your future right there. At some point here there's going to be that FA who wants to play on this team like how Durant/Lebron have done. To win a Championship.
  12. I was about to post a new thread for Nick Franklin. He'd fit more of a utility but then knowing how waivers work, He'd have to pass the AL first and the likes of Cincy/San Diego. So I stopped myself.
  13. Only 2 ways this team can go. Brewers Records 66-96 or 84-78 Playoffs:No either way Brewers MVP: Can only be Broxton. Villar would have to clean up his mental errors. Brewers CY: Zach Davies Brewers ROY: Manny Pina finally getting his chance First Player traded: Matt Garza Surprise Player: Jesus Aguilar Disappointing players: That w/l difference is on the Bullpen 18games worse if not good. WS guess: Pittsburgh vs Seattle and Pittsburgh winning. Pittsburgh finally gets Cole and Taillon to pitch a year together. Josh Bell's bat at 1b along with McCutchen's return to MVP help propel the offense further than last year. And of course the big add down the stretch is Tyler Glasnow making a fearsom trio that can't be beat in the 2017 playoffs. 5 games Pitt wins at home.
  14. Playing what was it 71 games is completely healthy? Ok it was 77games after checking. I said this before when complaining to his defense. Was he supposed to lay it out on the line for someone who was missing games by the 25th game of the season? After the first 22games his longest stretch was the final 16 games of a losing season. To put it this way. Let's move on from a 4WAR+ OF. Over his defense after an injury filled year. I mean if Khris Davis can be 2.8WAR after a .247/307 40HR year with a noodle arm. We are just going to say no to what's likely a .265/.355 40HR guy with a laser arm. So we can insert a guy like Brinson? about .270/.310 with 25HRs at best in him? Who's arm won't be as strong as Santana's. MLB.com's scouting report has this blurp on Brinson: Brinson's speed represents yet another plus tool and translates on the basepaths as well as in center field, where it helps him to compensate for what at times can be shaky jumps and reads. So what's to say Brinson doesn't do what Santana had trouble with during an injury plagued year? This isn't just a response to you Logan, but for all the Santana diss-ers? Yeah Stearns has built a team and minors filled with defensive bodies, but taking Villar/Broxton/Santana in trades are 3 who happen to be higher On Base types. You know at .355 to maybe even .370 is going to have Stearns quite happy with that. Pick your poison but I prefer offensive superiority over a better defensive player with an average bat. The chances on the fielding to affect meaningful/close games are far less than the chances to impact a game at the plate. You know when your defense outweighs your offense, you become a 1b or DH. Haven't had any of that now have we?
  15. Ha, 5wins their longest? Come on! Typically when 1 bat gets hott, tue team's bats get hott. I see multiple bats being hott for this team and they'll throw 45 runs out there in a 6 game stretch winning with bats alone! Twins, Reds, Arz, San Diego, Philly, Atl, Miami. Theres gotta be stretches where we face 2 or 3 straight series with these teams involved.
  16. Streaks sure I'll bite Win streak 9games. Losing streak 7games.
  17. Draft on Sun night. Any sleepers out there you are targeting say 10th rounds and later? Pitching and closers? Maybe an OF...though Broxton seems to fit that, but a lotta WI players in this league so I wouldnt be surprised he goes 6 rounds early
  18. And then imagine Hader/Ortiz/Woodruff develop to #2s. Oh the future for WI.
  19. Milone was shelled today. Can forget that SP idea if he's tossing upper 80s and working up in the zone. Can't have a series where two of the games would feature Davies/Milone. Still awaiting the bullpen add just before Opening day. Really troubling the thoughts to this team's pitching. This could be a 5ERA bottom of MLB Pitching group. Which best of the 4 teams last year, you would say 5ERA was Colorado at 75wins. Min with 59wins the worst.
  20. They have Dejesus and Rivera if they really wanted to add a utility IF. Like most trades over the past couple years, this trade wouldn't necessarily be made to improve the roster THIS year. Dejesus isnt a guarantee, they sent him to AAA. If any club offers him a spot on their 25man he can go according to his contract. Texas will not be offering Gallo, unless we include a minor League guy (remember Texas scouts seen in Minor games?) Yes Peralta had that 17win season and mid 3s ERA, but that Fip was over 4, has it has been the last 2 seasons as well. He hasn't learned a 3rd effective pitch. FB/Slider so the planes on those two pitches moving down arent much different. And when he's slightly off, Ill guess thats when he goes through those innings with 5+hits given up. Until he learns an effective 3rd pitch and commits to throwing it 20% of the time. He's going to be a 4+ Fip pitcher. Or a #4 starter with #3 upside. He needs that, or a FB that hits it's location more often than its done the last 3years. Is Gallo really a known good defensive 1b? Nevermind the fact he'd be awaiting playing time behind Thames and Aguilar? Is that even worth trapping him in AAA? Erceg pushing his way quickly for 3b. Shaw at 3b/1b ability should the 1b situation not pan out. I think Shaw took over the Gallo attempts for acquire and that possibility is over in Stearns mind. Hope we have an answer today. The waiting on closure to Opening Day is pulling at the feels.
  21. Wound up being this: Tom‏ @Haudricourt 20m20 minutes ago #Brewers tell Jesus Aguilar he has made team and told Rene Garcia, Ivan De Jesus Jr. and Eric Sogard they will not make team. Way to go Aguilar forcing yourself on to opening day roster.
  22. What about Peralta? Nelson, Garza and even Kneble should be longer tenures than Santana. And Perez was claimed by the Brewers before that Gomez trade.
  23. Not necessarily related. Or you could make the case that this saves them $3MM of the $12MM they would owe Garza. Cushion the blow a little... Or someone from Spring Training not on the 40man making the team?
  24. Does this open the piggy-back rotation? Opened a spot on the 40man. Nelson/Andersn Garza/Milone?
  25. Where was the news that he was even put on waivers? But, hey, I'm happy to see they are moving on from a 1 trick pony. Good luck to Scooter in Cincy.
