  1. Where Lucroy is at is confirming a QO after 2017. Without a doubt. That means a 28-36th 1st rd pick a Team will have forthcoming. That value has likely always been a part of Stearns trade value. But of course the teams trading for Lucroy could have argued differently I believe Lucroy has that top 15-40 prospect overall as a headliner in his future trade. Could even be top 10 but the higher we climb the less beyond you get. It could be 1 to 1 if you're going high enough vs a 40, 75 and throw in. It's certainly promising the headliner in return should be leaving the other teams fans upset in the loss of that guy.
  2. Eickhoff is better than the numbers make him out to be. Unless Anderson pitches a Quality start, I expect the Phillies to win this game behind Eickhoff's pitching. Don't be surprised by a 10k performance by him.
  3. Wow I probably mentioned Cleveland and boy do they have high quality depth in their minors. Triston McKenzie reads really well. Rob Kaminsky and Juan Hillman 5/6 in their pitching ranks? Looking at their roster. Plain and simple Lucroy&Smith for Brewers top 4 choices in the prospects. I don't see a dominating Lefty on Cleveland in their bullpen so offering Smith, and they should just be like have at it, the 4 you want.
  4. At #6, Oakland signs Delvin Perez. Taking high ceiling here plus younger aged. This is akin to Addison Russel's draft choice in their minds. He'll certainly be a coveted trade piece for the next 4 years you think of him in the minors, due to the age and saying he just needs time to come in to his own. Regardless if Perez is batting a .225/.305/.310 line those 4 years. He's golden on defense at SS teams will drool at that and Oakland gets to own that with this pick.
  5. So you want a guy who's got a Negative WAR 63IP last year and 57.2IP thus far this year? This is the opposite in wanting Him and then someone saying Nelson is at best a #3. His Fip has been above 3.9 every year he's started. Has a 4/bb/9 rate. Sure some more Ks and less walks thus far but the Hits are still 10+. I don't think he's going to be anything better than a poor man's 3. Zach Davies type production but Davies' Floor is higher than Moore's. Blake Swihart just bothers me. I feel like from Boston's End and fans, they are ready to move on but with saying he's still the Catcher ceiling we were all excited in seeing in 2015. What does he bring to the table? Not Power, won't be elite Avg, so you figure this is a catcher who maybe has .700OPS avg and .800 on his 1 good HR year. It's just poor to me to overpay for him. HE's the Throw In to me in a deal. Not a headliner or 2nd best in a deal. 3rd at best. Because I expect he won't ever reach the expectations that are higher than what's he's produced in the Minors. Here's Braun. I miss games. Come back 3hits total, 2games and 1 RBI in each. He just produces if he's playing. You will have a hard time showing me a Batter that a team can trade for who's giving the elite Bat ability Braun is bringing right now.
  6. About time on Walsh. I'm thinking how well Villar has turned out makes the attempt of keeping pointless. Any week now, Arcia could be called up. Brewers get to take a look at Ramirez who's had prior success unlike Walsh. Walsh for what it's worth, may have helped some of the mindset in taking walks with a few...like Gennett being better as a result. Thanks if that really happened. Brewers can probably get Walsh in 3 or 4 years when he can have a new affect on the guys that could use a little more patience.
  7. Ooh, on the road and I almost miss my Brewer Vote!. Without a doubt the marketing factor on Riley "Pint" will result in Pints night. Any home game start of Pints results in all Beer purchases being $1 off. Get your Pint, Pints! And return with them through the season for .50 off a refill! Riley Pint not only is selected but immediately signed to a 20year contract to always be a Brewer.
  8. There are obvious franchises that don't have payrolls above 100mil. In last 4 years: Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Florida, Oakland, Tampa, and Houston have not had their payroll over 100million. 3 of 4: NYMets, Colorado, Atlanta, and Arizona didn't. That's 10 teams that by putting some money up on his contract, could open discussions towards making a trade. To Me, 2-4Million per year should result in the equivalent of late 1st round/top 2nd round talent if you're drafting. So 4.5years would be 9-18million in cash sent that I'd expect the cash to net me that prospect in return. You send more than 20million I'd better be getting a top of 1st round pick talent back. The Astros and Mets were 2 of the teams rumored by that scout who made the list of buying teams on Braun. White Sox were another team who didn't exceed 100million payroll in 2 of last 4 seasons also in that mention. So Say 15mil sent to these 3 I'd expect: Houston: Joe Musgrove or Derek Fisher NY:Wuilmer Becerra or Desmond Lindsay ChW: Well, nothing impressive. Guess International signees Micker Adolfo or last years Franklin Reyes teens that offer promise. Houston has the best to offer in return. But the fact Gomez is off to horrible start, and Fiers a #5's worth of stats, I'd wonder on Houston wanting to make another trade to Milwaukee.
  9. Mr. Allen. It's fine to pay some of Brauns contract. As well as add someone's contract to the team. But a contract like Pablo Sandovals or even Prince Fielder. Too long a term to take on. This year+next. A 3rd year+ on any contract taking on (such as Sandovals) is too detrimental to the recovery. I don't want 10million+ being wasted come 2018 and beyond. What ifs are around the corner.
  10. Agreed. I was hype happy on him his callup for Houston. He provided SBs so many. Now that he's increased his BA+OB his SB+Run contributions just confirm the original Hype surrounding him that Houston didn't go with.
  11. Understood. My point was more from a development perspective though. Sure the guy wants to be in the Majors but he's not ready and you're doing any potential success no favors by forcing it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Kinda a hard thing. The point of Rule 5 selections is a Team gives them ML time opposed to that player being in the minors another year. Generally they are to have reached the ML level by now. So that pick is getting his ML time that he should have reached already. It keeps teams from stocking the farm and keeping ML potentials from remaining in the minors. So yes their salary is a huge bonus for players that most likely have a career as a 24/25th man on a ML team.
  12. And it's games like this that make me recall his "dominance" vs Milw pitching.
  13. 2nd game watching this season... I'm back in WI!Carter just, just missed that HR. Matt Carpenter, I just hate how good he is. I had to check how great his numbers are vs Milw because I feel he's a Brewer killer. He has the most doubles vs Milw than any team, but overall his career Triple Slash lines is about an exact vs. Milw line. Guess those numbers just burn more when Milwaukee must not be pitching exceptional and all his hits and OB ability make one see him as Brewer Killer
  14. Would not be happy with a Zach Collins pick unless it came beyond 1st pick. I'm hoping it doesn't matter on Perez with 1 or both Pint/Groome being available at #5. But the love is a ML SS no doubt. And has offensive upside. (Read: CarlosCorrea ) type of draft pick. SS are riding a wave of talent and I'd assume if you're ranked #1 SS in a draft right now your value is higher than it was 5+years ago. I personally didn't like the pull side tendency. He appears to swing for the fences at times with pulling it to a shorter fence.
  15. Gotta say the Giants are an interesting roster to look at. I actually wish they had more depth in the prospect system because along with Braun, the Giants could use mainly Wil Smith since he's lefty, but Jeffress would be another positive add on for them. Their current closer and closer coming in to the season, they both are FAs after the year. Gregor Blanco and Angel Pagan are also both FAs to be so that'd be where Braun's contract fits. Man their Minor League Pitching is old. Not a single Teenager. Bickford and Marshall are their youngest A ball and up. On the batting side they have 4 teenagers one 18yr old Lucious Fox who managed to be an International signee vs a draft candidate by moving out of the US back to Nassau. At 18 the Giants already have him playing A-ball. Position-wise reads SS/CF. Other 3 are 19yr olds 2b,SS,3b positions. None are off to a better than .700OPS and the 19yr old SS has just a .395OPS in 139PAs. Their #1 ranked prospect is Christian Arroyo who lists at SS has played 2b and 3b. Honestly, somehow MLB has him at 45 in 3 tools a 60 in Bat and 55 arm and rank him #76 in top 100. I read that more as a Utility IF vs a 1st team starting Infielder. I'd easily prefer Beede/Bickford and Fox over him. Kinda like Tyrone Taylor a couple seasons back being our #2. He probably won't be #1 by the end of the season. So the list of guys becomes: Tyler Beede, Phil Bickford, Lucious Fox, Chris Shaw, And toss ins Mac Marshall, Jalen Miller, and Sam Coonrod as about the only players I'd consider in a trade. If they have some International under 18year olds I don't know as they've yet to play.
  16. Only the Giants of that list of teams isn't on Braun's no trade list. So take that interest for what its worth. One would imagine the only way Braun excepts a trade to a team on his list would be having his option guaranteed in 2021. There are the Giants 1st rounders the last 2 seasons that are appealing. Beede, Bickford, and Chris Shaw 1b is just destroying the ball 10Hrs/17 doubles of his 55 hits. approx 190PAs. 2 of those 3 would definitely pick up the pace of the rebuild. All 3 even better I'd take another prospect than just 2 of the 3. Could be Mac Marshall(20) or Michael Santos who's 21 as of today
  17. Plush do you understand that Nelson has 1 full season of starts and working on his 2nd currently? Miller had 2 full seasons of starts when he was traded the first time. And then a 3rd prior to his 2nd trade. In the Realm of Team Control Arcs, Nelson is doing better his 2nd year starting than Miller and he's on pace in year two to put up what Miller did for his 3rd year in Pitcher haven Atlanta. 200+IP and a 3ERA. Comparing the two's 2nd full season as starter, Nelson has improving numbers while Miller's numbers remained either flat or worsened. There will be more starts prior to any trade involving Nelson so this 2nd season sample size will increase. Nelson has now thrown 23.1IP w/o giving up a HR after 8 in his first 41.1IP. And overall just 2HRs given up on the road in 21.1IP. That's going to be considered in a trade the park factors as well as the improvement. Never mind the 4 years of team control of maybe 27million in cost for such performance. This is different than Peralta and the potential upside. Peralta never reduced his Hits allowed per 9IP. And didn't maintain a respectable K/9. But I'm one of the only who see's him being a #2 at current rate vs. just a solid #3, while Peralta was a #3 with #2 upside who I think has caused too many here to be less optimistic and overly cautious.
  18. Jimmy Nelson isn't even remotely close to Shelby Miller. Jimmy Nelson doesn't have an MLB track. Shelby Miller had two seasons with an ERA near 3.00. 10 good starts is absolutely nothing. A few bad starts and his ERA will explode. To have an ERA that low all season you have to be very good and very consistent. I will agree their peripherals are similar, but track record and results goes a long way for trade value. I think a Shelby Miller type trade is what the Brewers would look for, but I seriously doubt anyone is going to offer that if he has half a good season. You never know though... What 2years did Miller produce?. Nelson has been and is better than Shelby Miller. Why? I sat through Miller's first 2seasons for fantasy. I think he pitched IN to the 7th inning&beyond less than 10 times. He consistently was removed in the 6th inning. I'll post this and edit 23 of 63 starts his 1st 2seasons were quality starts. He averaged 5.2IP overall in those 63starts. Nelson. 25 of 53Starts Quality starts. With 5.85IP avg. Touch better than half an out more. This with a hitters ballpark over StL. He's done more than Shelby prior to going to Atl. Oh and now Miller has a 7ERA after exiting the friendly confines of Atlanta stadium. His 1! Good season. Nelson has 10more Starts before he reaches that equation for comparison to Miller's.
  19. You all are crazy to give Texas Lucroy+Carter and get back Gallo&Tate to take Fielder off there hands. This deal is missing a top5Rangers prospect aas well at a top 16 Rangers prospect. Or 90million cash. Either or. We've gone from Tate, Matuella, and Ortiz for Lucroy...only to Tate+Gallo? For Lucroy,Carter+Fielders 90mil remaining contract? I've been kicked in the groin by every one on Texas's 40man to ridiculously accept that trade offer.
  20. Jacob Gatewood questions that no 3b options. He's inching up to better numbers. Oh, and Gilbert Lara is a 3b option. These two are younger than Senzel still, Lara by 20months. From the looks of Senzel's Tools grades, both Lara and Gatewood possess a higher ceiling. There also seems to be some depth for 3b in the late 1st/2nd round rankings. I'd guess the Ace to #2 SPs won't last to 2nd round as compared to your toolsy 3b from the looks of it. If anything, I'd expect Senzel to fall based on the 3b depth.
  21. Because? 3 top players I'd like to see Milwaukee draft one of are all there. Pint/Groome can just turn out like a draft with Scherzer and Kershaw. Both frontline starters/Aces. Win/win regardless the choice.
  22. Gotta understand, Carter is essentially 1st year Arb player. Thus his 2.5mil cheap cost. So for next year. 5.5mil would likely be to much or about right. Any team could just offer him 2.5mil again. Except Milw who'd go through Arbitration with him. Carter has to be reasonable in what he&agent value themselves then. Asking 8mil. And Brewers offer 5mil. The Arbitrator can side with Milw and then 5mil becomes his pay. We think 2.5mil is a steal. But in reality, Carter may not have had an offer over 2million. He wasn't and still won't be a typical Free Agent as he hasn't accrued the service time to be paid a FA Salary.
  23. Just because a blurp from Callis Braves select 1.3 Josh Lowe 3b Marieta,GA They love Georgia boys in draft. With their draft pool. They'll get the best that falls to their 40&44picks. Much like Houston getting Daz Cameron in 2nd rd. Atlanta has amassed the picks to go big with a draft slot undersigning with 1st pick. I know they just got Baltimore's comp pick this past week so expect big signings after this selection. Why? Lowe? GA boy who won't be there at 40 like any fallen prep pitchers
  24. Maybe SPs and Bullpen guys are causing too much delay. 2015: Nelson 177IP KRod/Blazek-57/55.2 #3/4RP 2005: Davis-222.2IP+Capuano-219IP DeLaRosa 42/Santana 41.1 #3/4RP 1995: Sparks-202IP Bones-200.1IP Rightnowar 36/Fetters 34.1 #3/4RP 1985: Darwin-217.2+Hiquera-212 Fingers 55.1/Waits 47 #3/4RP 1975:Broberg-220.1+Slaton-217+Colbern-206.1 Austin 40/Anderson 30.1 #3/4RP You're looking at 70IP total to 112IP from a team's #3&4 RP totals. I'm sure there's a better stat or something that would come away more difinitive like Games Played to avg IP. In '85 Brewers top 2 RPs Bob Gibson+Rob Mclure Pitched a total of 178innings in 79 games combined. Over 2IP an appearance. But certainly, the lack of SPs pitching 200+IP and the use of that 7th inning RP now adds to the game length. Actually, start of the inning wouldn't add too much time but pitching changes during the inning. Where can someone find that info? I've certainly not enjoyed my share of 5.2IP starts at 3ER or less in fantasy losing that last out for a quality start. Maybe a rule changing to 3batters minimum faced when bringing in a RP within the same inning should be put in effect. Between innings wouldn't matter.
  25. Atlanta is scoring a MLB worst 3.19 runs per game. Game in Atlanta. We have a good chance of a CG SHO by Nelson....Heard it here first!
