  1. So give up Hoffman and Reyes to get Tulo? How does that batting order work/ Reyes was a perfect leadoff type of batter. Tulo is a #3/4 batter. Kinda where Bautista/Encarnacion/Donaldson fit? I wrote yesterday about a Blue Jays/Brewers trade potential being good...Well the Jays pulled the trigger and sent away the best prospect they likely had. The contract prices are up there. And Tulo now can't be traded? Hope he's happy in Toronto. I haven't seen anything on Reyes going back to the Mets, only in someone's comment here. 22mil/year is nothing to sneeze at. The Mets wouldn't be willing to pay that much would they? The Jays still have the prospects to make a splash in a trade. So maybe they did well in the trade after all? I just don't see Reyes/Tulo being that big of a difference in quality of bat when you role Reyes Leadoff and Tulo #3/4. I call Tulo-Reyes a sideways move, and Colorado got 3 prospects on top. Amazing trade considering 2 stars involved. Kudos to both GMs for making it happen.
  2. I put that a fantasy writer believes Arcia will play this season and boom I start a fickle posters fight over it. I just wanted to leave off the impression that people believe he can play at the ML today, and at the same time that a knock on Segura was given why it will happen before season's end. Just think, We are closing in on getting 2.5seasons of Segura, 0 on Pena, and .1 or whatever on Hellweg for the trade of Greinke. What was a massive win in trade, is looking like a massive loss. Anyway, The fact Arcia is still in AA, to me shows he's being held back as long as possible to not give enough stats at AAA that he's ready for a ML promotion til small market Super 2 status ends. I just wonder can Milw keep him down for almost one more year to reach that. Think about it, if the Brewers promoted Arcia to AAA by now or at any moment. Why wouldn't you put him in the ML team when September comes and give him experience? Super 2 is why. The longer the team keeps him at AA, the easier it will be to not promote him in Sept. And then of course you run him out in AAA until Super 2 passes next season. Hernan Perez' waiver pick up, I believe ensures Arcia wont see action this season. But had he not been added, Arcia's numbers were going to make it hard not to promote him. At some point with this top 10 ranking, Arcia's agent will begin the whispers of how much minor league baseball does he need to play to prove he's ML ready? What does Milwaukee want him to improve on as a player? And truthfully, it's about Super 2 money/status. Baseball would be maybe fixed some if they took the bottom 8 markets and granted them immunity from Super 2.
  3. Just don't feel Gomez gets traded. Parra of course should be traded. His landing spot? Royals. Alex Gordon is hurt for 8weeks. Alex Rios is below .700 OPS. They acquired Cueto, Parra gives them the bat they need to back up the trade. KC doesn't have the cream any more of prospects, but why not get Bubba Starling and Cheslor Cuthbert? Maybe hit it big or just below avg types.
  4. Toronto as a trade partner thinking back, is an exciting team to be working with. Especially if they want Mike Fiers now. Toronto got rid of TDA/Syndergaard/Nicolino prospects like that previously. TDA was a top 10 prospect. Toronto parted with him and didn't blink. Theres no chance in my mind Fiers is worthy to ask for Hoffman. Hoffman has to be on the untouchable list that may only be of 1..himself. You have every other prospect available for Fiers. The trade should in my opinion include Sein-Reid Foley. He's the #2 of 2 or 3 total prospects you get in return for Fiers. Foley to me reads as your expected Fiers quality return back in prospect. Just a lot of potential by Toronto's prospects with Milw's available players where the club could clean up on quality prospects. Take all of the best for Krod, Fiers, and Gomez. They have the strength in prospects to do it. Brewers get back Norris, Pompey, Hoffman, Foley plus 2 others I'd expect. And no, I'm not trading for Pentecost at the moment....my personal Catcher pricing. The Brewers would enter 2016 with Peralta, Nelson, Norris, Jungmann, and Garza/#5. And the main 4 would be there for another 3seasons. Pompey takes CF immediately. Hoffman/Foley are prizes to come like Syndergaard was.
  5. Don't see the Rays with even a 1% remote chance of wanting to trade for Lucroy. It's not in their ways of doing things. They gain in prospects and trade away ML players. Not the other way around. They don't have the SP staff in my mind to consider acquiring a ML player to make a run in the Playoffs, not a Lucroy type trade. Trading for KRod, would be in the line of what I'd see the Rays FO do. Getting a quality BP arm. But nothing more. Parra would be the next in line a utility fielder. But a Franchise Catcher or SP isn't what the Rays do. They can't afford it long term.
  6. No to Weaver. Yes on Reyes and/or Kaminsky. That'd be my starting point. Reyes or Kaminsky. Find another prospect down the list. Interdivision trades go though, I find it hard to imagine the Cardinals parting with either of those two as you're looking at #2 type SPs facing your squad for 6years. Not a RP like Blazek who pitches maybe 8 innings total vs your team in a season.
  7. Just to understand the Segura hate. Of qualified SS's he's 14th in OPS. 50pts from .700 and 7th best in baseball. So Terrible Segura is in the top half of OPS at SS and he's worth little? Segura has the most SBs over everyone above him. There's just not a lot of SSs with strong batting profile, Segura included. This isn't a Corner OF position where it's .800+OPS or you're dirt. He's proven himself defensively at the position now. Do I expect him to improve? No not by much. .650-.700OPS seems about right in expectations. That's top 15 in all of baseball at SS, I'd expect a top 75 type prospect in return. Which is like 65-125 in rankings as the quality is likely the same with worts and who's hot/fresh in the prospect ranking individuals' minds to rank one 65 vs 115. It's weird to me the Mets are looking back at Segura/Ramirez again, after they did so supposedly in the Minnesota series, and left with the impression, they aren't trade targets. So part of me wonders is any of the recent is even true or some one just drumming up the same rumor that was a month old. Adam Lind to an AL team, it has to happen. 8games separates worst to 5th team in the playoffs.
  8. I'm not surprised he's in the top 20 even at 8. Eric Karabell seems to have a belief that Arcia will play for Milw this season with this fantasy piece he wrote on Arcia. He says Segura isn't any good at the SS position in it. http://espn.go.com/videohub/video/clip?id=13208367&categoryid=2564307
  9. Why isn't he even involved in the vote in. Take a chance to find out his popularity if it's fully tainted or not.
  10. Lohse legitimately is a 6ERA SP. 4 starts all season giving up 2runs or fewer. Where's Jungmann sit at already? Past time to cut bait. There aren't enough 0s he can put up between now and deadline, to provide Milw with say a 5mil paid to a team just to take him off the club's hands. So dump him and move on.
  11. No point reading a post that starts out like this. Posts like this are why I post here a lot less than I used to. If you can't refrain from posting without name calling, don't bother to post at all. I took offense to what Bill Hall Star said. Essentially as I read him from he wrote, this entire threads of Transactions/Rumors need to be erased because trades are pointless. Since the Post Season success can't be deemed 100%. No trades should be made. He may as well never step foot in to these rumors again with that assumption. His first line of sentencing was more damning than just putting Hey Genius.
  12. What tells you that Parra will "perform in the playoffs?" He's not going to face Trevor May, the corpse of Chad Billingsley, Sean O'Stinkivan, and whatever the Reds call their "pitching staff" in the playoffs. Hot streaks from platoon lefties are easy to predict: when they play crappy RH pitching teams in hitter's parks. I was happy that the Brewers acquired these guys, and if I was a playoff team, I'd want them...but these hot streaks are due to playing terrible RH pitching, and I would imagine other GMs know this...at least my fantasy baseball transactions this week did. Hey genius, If I could predict the future, I wouldn't be commenting on here, I obviously know I don't for sure or not Parra will perform. But you're staring at a batter with .300+ BA currently at less than 3.5mil remaining on his contract I imagine to this point. I made the reference that he could be a Marco Scutaro type who flashes nothing to think he'd be a MVP in a series. When Playoffs are about some team having a hot run, Parra fits that mold as a type like he's doing now, who can run .400+BA. in a one or two week stretch. And maybe doing so atop a batting order makes that much more valuable. He just fits that under the radar you forget can do that type. How many batters currently possess a .275+BA on teams that will be selling? And are the types of players to be sold? Dee Gordon, Nori Aoki, Chris Colabello, David Murphy is you want to consider his option of 7mil or pay another 500k, Gregor Blanco, Adam Lind, Mitch Moreland, Ben Revere, Daniel Murphy, Erick Aybar. That's it. So 5 total OFs 2 on the same team that are likely buyers themselves so now you're at 3. It's basically who do you want more? Revere or Parra. .707-822OPS. Edit: This would also show how huge a payoff could come if Gomez was put out there in trade. Talking serious blockbuster. Toronto and Dalton Pompey and Sein Reid Foley and maybe even Richard Urena. Would be a nice haul since you're already getting a ML ready CF in return top of the order type speed maybe OB. Foley would really make the Pitching look more sound. Urena would be like Diplan where we snag another former top 10 international prospect. He'll have some years to groom.
  13. No. There will be some other team that will look to go bonkers and blow away their spending limits. But you're looking at what? 9teams that can't spend over 300k? Leaving just 21 that can. (my guess maybe its 7 or 8 or 10 for that matter) That's less bidding to go around on these top international prospects. If there's going to be a time to do it, 2016 would be it considering where the team may stand in overall payroll, can take the brunt of the penalties. I mean if 500k is are best signing this period, then what's the point trying to avoid being limited to 300k? Team should go out spend 15-21million nab 5-6 top notch prospects the 10mil or so in penalties like I said would just get absorbed by the team's 60ish mil payroll to be 70s-ish? Lara's production should be proof the need to. You then really spend your next 2years scouting for 2019 and locking up deals for them in 2018 just awaiting to be announced.
  14. Jung Ho Kang has them covered. Braun stands a better chance of seeing 3b action before Alvarez does so Lind has no place to play til Alvarez is gone.
  15. This idea makes perfect sense. Parra would be like Marco Scutaro was for the Giants, a bat who just performed and kept it up in the Playoffs. That's why I am seeing Parra's value riding a wave up. And Lind what does he have a 10game RBI streak? not hitting streak RBI. I hate to break it you but Coulter is probably a B- prospect and Taylor is a C prospect at best. I foresee him falling out of Milw's top 7 soon with Reed getting ahead of him. Coulter, Lara, Medeiros, and Lopez. And he's lucky Harrison/Gatewood haven't taken just a basic stat line you'd expect for them to jump him. Include Taylor in the Parra Trade. Get Billy McKinney from the Cubs back and here's one Dylan Cease.
  16. Simple Didn't a couple Boston flakys for outfielders get 3/33mil? No doubt to me Parra has 9mil/yr attached next to his name up to that 11mil. It's all a matter of is is 3/33 or 4/36mil. You're kidding yourselfs if you believe he's a 5-6mil a year player. He's a Lefty bat if he were to revert to platoon status so pencil him in for 75%+ of the games. As to the idea of attaching a QO next to his name....Please reconsider that. It's likely more a sure thing who the team gets in trade back for Parra being a better than the QO pick Milw would likely get. And Since the offers we're staring at are 9-11mil for me vs taking 16.+mil for one season? If his agent stopped him from accepting the offer, He won't be Parra's agent once the season started and he's still waiting to be signed.
  17. Ok so we can play like garbage and have all are trade pieces be worthless to get maybe a top 5 pick. Or we could have a hot streak, trade off our pieces for a nice haul, and still end up with a top 10 pick. I am taking option two. Think about it. Our pieces increase value or at least want for a trade. Remove Parra,Lind, KRod and whomever by end of month. You're reducing the team's ability as a .500 ability and turning to a .470 winning ability. If that. So down the standings they go again. Gotta really like what Lind and Parra are doing. For a Playoff push, these two have to fit perfect profile for what you want as sparkplugs.
  18. 4min 11secs. How about we fine those NY officials for taking over twice as long to make a decision as supposedly allowed? Mlb should just have a shot clock on the field and it's on the umps to just call play stands when it runs out cutting off the NY officials who haven't made a decision in time.
  19. Only said 10 SRB. I see 15 in MLB's current top 100 from 2014. 10 isn't much to ask of, especially with the numerous graduates this season is having.
  20. 6game winning streak is nice. The concerns the team will hang on to their pieces? Let's be realistic they are still 29th overall of 30 teams in the standings. 4 of these 6games winning streak is against the team who's actually below them. Still 10games behind the last wildcard team. Um. The Phillies aren't on the schedule every game the rest of the season. Still not a top 25 team in all of baseball with Lohse and Garza taking the mound with their 5.5+ERAs And 7+ERA holding Broxton to "Hold" games. What is nice is the stretch Parra and Lind are having as increasing their trade value.
  21. Is he a top 100 in all of MiLB? Maybe prior to the draft. Now that the draft has happened, probably 10 manage to get ranked in the top 100 a few deserving, but others just because they are top 15 picks or so and they push Lopez back out of top 100. Lopez is on the Nelson rise with his numbers. He'll sneak in the top 100 falling in the 80s or so to begin next season should he keep this rate up roughly. For the most part #75-150 rankings in MiLB are like a 75A through the Alphbet 3 times. There's reasons current #75 doesn't belong as are reasons a guy at 150 belongs. It's probably like the Draft in who's a 1st rd pick and who's 2nd-3rd. with 3months to draft day. Who's hot gets in, who's not falls out.
  22. I've said it before, Houston would be quite dumb to trade away any of their prized young prospects this very first year of seeing success. None from their top 15 team prospects should be available in trade. Their FAs to be are Colby Rasmus, Chad Qualls if option isn't picked up, Roberto Hernandez, Tony Sipp, and Joe Thatcher. Then you are looking at Scott Feldman, Luis Valbuena, and Jason Castro the following season. Neshek has to turn in to Broxton to not pick up his option. There isn't One single AS in that group the team will be losing. To make any sort of quality trades, they will be losing AS potential in return for rentals? The owner should fire the GM if he ends up trading away any top 10 team prospect at complete lack of future vision. Unless its for Multiple years of a quality SP but certainly not a rental.
  23. I vote this. You Waive Lohse he become available to all teams and lets just say the Astros want him. What would they be 29th or 30th team to have a crack at claiming him? You maybe force these other teams to make their decision and claim him rather than hem and haw over should they or shouldn't they trade for him. Maybe best chance to dump his salary completely and do so in short time.
  24. I'm counting like 30.5mil on the Dodgers signings if all true.....They just traded one of their slots to Toronto for I don't know what. But yeah You have about 3mil to spend...nah we'll trade some 100ks only have 2mil to spend....And still spend 30+mil. Wow such a joke and again Milw isn't trading their slots to this moment. Spend in 2016 Team trade everything you have in 2015. GM can't pull the trigger! So afraid to look bad in the outcome apparently. In addition to the sale to the Blue Jays, the Dodgers also just sold another international bonus pool slot to the Braves for two prospects in return. They absolutely could not care any less about the system or the tax penalties. Andrew Friedman is a Sabermetric Honey Badger. Can they sell off a bonus slot when they've already exceeded the allotments when they sign a player? I'm thinking, I wish they traded all of it and had $0 and embarrassed the League because they sign 30+mil~61mil after taxes. But alas, I'm in the fairly confident 5mil of that will go in to the added research/advertising and such MLB claims and 26mil ends up in the Commish's and his team pockets as hush money.
