  1. So true on the early 2nds. You go back and see the values from like the top 10-15 picked in 2nd round, they seem to hit more than the majority of values of bottom 10 in 1st round. That overnight plus 1st rd drops very good decisions being made.
  2. Thanks really forgot that move. Really just forgot he'd been around that long.
  3. It's either the 3rd or other 2nd. It'd be every pick after the 3rd rd and a future 5th rd pick just to get in to the 30 selection.
  4. Has Gutekunst traded down once in a live draft? Don't think he knows how to make it happen. Savage, Love, Watson only trading up. He's definitely trading up tonight. It'll either be in to top 10, or the 20s. I'm hoping it's the 20s version because the potential cost moving inside the top 10 would leave the team with their 6&7ths and 2? Picks above 6th rd. I still can't see why they would use the 1st on JSN after drafting Watson, but then again he failed to supply Rodgers with top WRs so now he'll feed Love the top WRs and ignore the more glaring need for a DE and TE or OL protection. I just think they could draft a WR later having Watson as a #1 Doubs #2. Slot guys as JSN is talked about as, are the type who fall in to 2nd-5th rds. Went over to WalterFootball. Lucas Van Ness is in the draft after redshirt sophomore year. Has the measurables while being a year younger has the sound of a 1st rd pick you extend and have for the prime age seasons. Myles Murphy also sounds like the duo fit pass rusher/ run defense they need badly. We're going to be a team giving 4-6secs for QBs to tear apart the defense again if we don't get help with pass rush.
  5. Could who they brought in be an effect the belief Skoronski is picked well before 15, now 13? How was Jenkins talked about pre-draft? Wouldn't Pro-Bowler at guard who can kick out to average Tackle be a good fit with the OL makeup right now? I imagine guard is quicker to get going over a tackle? So he gets seasoning in game experience while grasping the Tackle position as time goes?
  6. Just isn't a reason to draft a WR with 13th pick after trading up and getting Watson in 2nd last season. I'm looking for Edge or OL with 13. Skoronski or Paris Johnson. I wonder on this draft if 1 of the 2 fall down to 13 you the one who did. Otherwise the writeups on Edges seem to have mix on being an edge or adding weight to be a DT. The defensive fronts we run, the hybrid version sounds like a winning add to me either way. Our secondary may produce more turnovers with a QB more under duress or having better 3down distance to go situations stopping the run. Of course there's the dire need on a TE. I keep seeing Kincaid in that 9-13 range. Doesn't read to me like he or a bunch of these 1st rd/early 2nd TEs really belong there. Just seems to show how weak the draft class is by projecting them that high. Maybe I'm missing something with Kincaid being that high but if he's around when 13 comes and GB selects him, hope he turns out to value there. We need one. I've hated the last decade of TEs with 0 downfield threat. 0 Red zone threat. Just always felt Rodgers found TEs on defensive breakdowns coving them. It wasn't that they beat a guy 1-on-1.
  7. I don't think they would use both 2nds. I think Patrick is same when agreeing from my suggestion that 1 of the 2nds would be used to trade back in to 1st. Both 2nds would technically get to 17-20. So would that be a tier of players better than 20-50 and worthwhile?
  8. Going to guess GB trades up back in to 1st rd with either Cincy or NO to select the best remaining TE that falls there using 1 of the 2nds and the 3 rd. pick.
  9. Well what's your definition as high? 3rd rd sounds good to me so expectations would be it turns in to an awful player because 3rd. I'd think they find a way to sign/trade for a vet vs spending a pick on a guy this season. I'd hope Love is focused on his 1st season starting versus being dragged in to some teaching already himself. I'd also want a vet that could be a mentor as Love goes through his in game experiences to talk to.
  10. Finally the saga is done. Draft value gained is about #33/34. So the 1st pick in 2nd rd. Kinda lame we had to throw in the 5th but maybe that changed the 2024 narrative if Rodgers didn't play that season GB should return some kind of 2025 pick. 65pct of the plays I assume is offensive snaps? Or plays that a QB is used. Seems easier than the condition of division winning or making the playoffs to get the 1st in 24. He could miss 4-5games now that are losses that improve that 1st rd pick. And obviously if he doesn't play 65pct, that 2nd is going to be higher.
  11. Before we get on a Pirates scary team wheel let's remember 10 games pitched and batted against have been Cincy and Colorado. Expected bottom feeders in each division. Kudos to them doing what they should and beat those 2 handedly.
  12. Then the Jets select that player at 13. I suggested if there was different players targeted on each other's board. A quick draft need search has the Jets needing a OL, C, QB, and safety. GB- S, TE, Edge. WR Among what I'm seeing for top 50 draft player rankings. Brian Branch is the 1 and only safety in it. I will say looking at the draft and GB needs, a lot of what they need sits from 15-24 with TE and Edge, and WR The Jets needs aside from Skoronski or Branch aren't really there at their pick. Very much see my idea on them looking for them to trade down and then offer that selection to GB for Rodgers. They ought to be able to pair 1 of their 2nd rd choices with the pick they received besides the 1st to move back in the 1st rd if needed. I see a Minnesota Center fitting their need who is around 25-40 as your trade back to 1st rd 5 year control. Anyways. Spending way too much time expanding on this idea.
  13. ? Let's say? the Jets board. So what I'm going on is that GB and the Jets are constantly on the phone discussing where their draft boards are sitting in regard to who they would select at 13 or 15. While the draft is on going. If the 2 sides honestly have a deal hashed out but with their picks close to one another moving up/down 2 spots in first or up/down 3 spots in 2nd. They could have what compensations are of including a swap in 1st or swapping the 2nd with the other 2nd included. Maybe that ties in to where 2024 round future pick ends up being. We're down to 5 days from now from draft without the trade announced, so I wonder if this is waiting out how draft falls to both sides when to pull the trigger then vs now.
  14. I'm sure there are phone calls already put out for feelers. Maybe a last idea is if Jets trade down the slot in 1st rd becomes something they would trade that 1st to Green Bay.
  15. There is the 13/15 pick swap that makes one wonder on a draft day trade. Let's say the Jets board has 2 players they would select available at 13, but GB's draft board it's a different player at top tier left. They make the trade swapping firsts and taking the lower of 2nds. If it happens to fall the other way Jets need that 13 as their board is 1 top tier and GBs still has 2. Then the trade can be the higher 2nd plus Jets 4th rd pick. The idea doesn't consider the 2014 pick return or 2025. It's just an idea on waiting til draft night to complete the trade; both sides remaining flexible as draft night unfolds. You could maybe also wonder on the idea on trading down 13. Like Both teams would trade with certain teams but not certain others so pick swap happens if GB has a better offer trading a team 13 than the Jets do trading 13. Or vice versa Jets have the better offer for their 13 than GB could manage.
  16. After the details were given so atm jNinja had a point. Just poor decision makings all around. Heard the 6 game suspension was due to betting on team grounds a different sport than NFL. If they had been away from the area it would not of earned a suspension. The 1year minimums were strictly betting on NFL games. I wonder if there will be more caught besides just the Lions players.
  17. 7-3 west coast road trip complete. Not another stretch of tough games like Crew just went through these 19games until May 15th beginning with StL that we sit 6! Games in front already! Tied for best record in NL. Welcome home! This week. Oops I may have intended for Optimism thread.
  18. 40man situation made Perkins the obvious choice. I see Frelick has a bad thumb. Wonder if that's been a thing longer than the past day bothering him and a partial reason why he's off to a slower start. Didn't Turang get a few OF starts in OF past year? Move Brosseau to 2b and Anderson back to 3b if ever needed. Using Miller at LF today is either an indication they view him better in the OF or value Turangs 2b defense more.
  19. I'll keep suggesting this but Christian Yelich himself. I think if he got right at the plate he's right on that type of player. He may be just a little better defensively at his age but he ks a little more than Yeli did at his age. But that could be due the pitching achievements with spin and velocity that wasn't where it's at 9 years ago.
  20. Listening to game today and I overhear Contreras and 12 game hit streak. Hadnt realized he had this streak going. Then I wondered about Narvaez and what his highest hitting streak was with Milwaukee. Try 9 games! 11 games was Narvaez' longest on base streak! 15 games in to the Brewers season and William has tied Narvaez' longest on base streak with the 11 game hitting streak. We've yet to enjoy a HR from him which already exceeds his longest drought last season without one. 6 bb to 9 ks on season and 0 ks today vs Darvish. Really getting great abs from him. No matter what Ruiz does, this is a winning trade for the Brewers already.
  21. Cruise over to Savant. Atlanta may been concerned with Contreras k rate. Or defense behind the plate. Pop times to 2b and 3b he ranked 31st and 21st. Murphy ranked 2nd and 1st. With the new larger bases they've got a tick better C to protect from thievery. Contreras sat at 14pct last season in caught stealing while Murphy was at 31pct. Murphy's batting lines showed improvement like a breakout. I think Atlanta may have just wanted to jump ahead on the breakout with top tier defense. Meanwhile that 14pct caught stealing was after a greater amount of runners caught stealing the season before 10 in 27 vs 6 in 36. It's not working out that way thus far this season, but it's 11games. What if it was just a move to block Murphy from going to the Mets? Or some team they didn't want Murphy on? They controlled who Contreras went to and made sure the Murphy sweepstakes was theirs. Either way Brewers were in desperate need of a Catcher while grooming Quero. 2 years of Contreras and moving on with potentially a sell high is as good as it can get. One of those gifts that keep on coming when it's a solid return.
  22. I'm taking B. Longer arms, higher vertical, slightly fast top speed. You mentioned shorter so the 2 or slot WR. Smaller avg per rec yards, higher rec and TDs. Just gives the feel off that as a possession receiver. Maybe better blocker build.
  23. Well Travis D'Arnaud is currently in concussion protocol on a play at the plate. He happened to not catch the ball from a 1st baseman infield in play. The result was him falling fully across home plate. The runner Odor smacked him good with his knees or legs as he ran in standing vs sliding. Not much Odor could have done avoiding this as TDA was positioned in front 1st base side to receive the throw. The throw was errant he probably seen that peaking and didn't think TDA was about to be fully outstretched across all of home plate. Just a note on the run through home plate vs slide thought. Baseball still had an injury occur.
  24. No idea what that is.
