  1. Interesting a scout grade of 60-50-55-50 turns in to overall 40. Because 5-11 is undersized and don't believe projection left....At age 19.
  2. Take thus far. 1-slot 2- at slot-below 125k 3-at slot-below 100k Overslot has value in the following 2 rounds. 225k could reach a guy like Binelas asking range. For instance. Maybe they save more.
  3. ote="Eye Black"]From Baseball America… Name: Russell Smith Born: in Midlothian, TX High School: Midlothian (Texas) HS College: Texas Christian Ht.: 6'9" / Wt.: 235 lbs Bats: L / Throws: L I think he was ranked over 100 and a guy that big that doesn't throw hard is hardly an exciting selection. Seems that ranking had more to do with having TJ in 2019 and pitching under 22innings in 2020. These pipeline rankings arent a current up to date rankings. They've been around more than a month. Sorry this was in reply to Brewers888
  4. I'm going to be on board with the pick simply when you read a #5 Starter...as his Floor. The video I see the deception. Yet it sounds he locates on top the deception. I like that hes big and not lanky for that height. Seems a high riser and strong read on the skillset to think he can be first from 2nd rd to play on ML team.
  5. There goes my prediction for Kudrna. To KC.
  6. Lost in my comments on the selections is just this. How nice will it be to have tough outs where you don't know what might happen in the AB. Last two games Hiura and JBJ came to bat in 9th inning and all you assumed was about to happen was a K.
  7. Somewhat relevant. But Urias was an unknown that climbed through the minors to earn that designation with a wood bat. It'll be interesting to see how quickly Sal adjusts to the wooden bat plus professional pitching.
  8. To be fair Altuve wasn't reaching 650ABs consistently while down in the minors. He has 38 more PAs than the highest Brewer does which is like a full weeks worth more chances to reach his number. Guy has 6000+ career PAs and 153HRs to show for it. Plus Houston has some cheat codes happening at home.
  9. You could honestly say the same about a guy with power but questionable hit tool. Power is worthless if a guy can't hit enough to make much use of it. Just ask Hiura. Hiura wasn't drafted as a power hitter. He was drafted as a pure hitter with elite bat speed as a 2b. Bat speed that could if launched correctly give him 20s HR power for a 2b while carrying a cool .300BA easy. The Brewers and he literally ruined his hit tool. I remember there was a piece/comment from one of those highly regarded prospect guys who said Hiura had a higher batting profile than Tatis Jr to stick with the hit tool. Now mendoza line is embarrassing Mendoza when describing Hiura's hit ability.
  10. I'd really like to see the team with a healthy Wong and Cain at the same time. This hasn't happened during the Adames era right? Cain, man I had good vibes and hopes for him this season, and honestly been a bigger let down to me than Yelich for the year. Then you have Hiura who needs to go away for the rest of the season. Family pains or just overall talent, send him home with a trainer and hitting instructor. I hate he's prototypical AAAA each time down in AAA. Last 2 games each 1b PH replacement. 2PAs late in games, critical important ABs. 4Ks. Leading that all off with a comical attempt to push bunt a ball in to the outfield. How's that for confidence in yourself? Swung and missed at a ball today that literally is middle of plate belt high. Didnt even make contact. Not 1 pitch in the Miley game touched the meatball served on a platter to Hiura who whiffed. Think the stat is 15ks in last 30PAs. He's not better. He's hurting this team immensely on the roster. Send him away since we're stuck with JBJ for however long Cain is MIA. Pair of .150s hitters. 150s! Wong Urias Yelich Adames Narvaez Garcia Tellez Cain Jace Peterson Taylor first off the bench. Can we trot that out soon please? (Btw if we DFA JBJ how does his contract work? Money or not just bye) Just think Uecker watches him bat worse than Uecker jokes about himself batting as a Catcher.
  11. Id find a better youtube vid of Frelick hitting because the one on the page is not looking promising to my eye. I can only hope at 5-9 with that swing pitchers are throwing downhill to him and he catches some loft just because of that.
  12. Sorta a thought Im having after 2 safer college bat picks, with #33 maybe a below slot deal to grab a kid. I mentioned earlier my guess to #33. Ben Kudrna. Reasonable to think someone like him being there 2rd pick.
  13. Only thing to worry about with Black is that labrum injury. Seems he had 3b playing time in past but moving to 2b as the arm strength weakened. Aka Keston Hiura comp. Will he be able to stick as. 2b or does he become a 1B/DH only player? Not that this organization needs a 1b prospect badly or anything. Forgot to add, does the team save any money with the Tyler Black pick? Seemed in the 50s pre-draft rank, college player and has that injury history for argument sake against full slot allotment.
  14. Well for just a quick browse down the lists Im staring at Bed Kudrna that hits the like button mold profile read. 6'3" with a 3 pitch mix projection heading in to today. So theres going to be my #33 guess.
  15. Mitchell is an absolute physical specimen with the upside for power to come. Much different profile than a 5'9 outfielder compared on a best case scenario to Brett Gardner. The adjective position profile applies here(sorry I worded that differently and after). Basically speedy CF. I know Mitchell has drool-worthy height for a player.
  16. Once again a player expected to go sooner that milw drafted later. Hope for the best. Seems a similar profile position-wise as Mitchell. Gotta start wondering front office going to go for it by trading Mitchell after this selection. Not going to say absolutely thrilled but can't be upset with what seems a safe pick. Hit the HR with 33 here on risk/reward.
  17. Uhhh, 5-8. 5-8 so just 6 games vs them remainder of season then. Maybe the Reds just hit Milw at the right points thus far this season. Offense struggles, Hader has a struggle week, umps create Brewers struggles, Castillo finds his A game as does all Cincy pitching. Having Suarez the Brewer killer come clutch. Lets see what the break does for the team and maybe best off all is immediately getting to play 3 games right after.
  18. 2 game take on a moment in both games. Yesterday CC was gone and whoever was managing at time, PH Hiura vs a RP Tellez could easily face against. SO. Lost a bench bat at a more critical moment in 9th yesterday. And today, CC did it again. 3 pitches later-K. Cc has become very poor at timing his moves. Wasting PHs earlier than he should on batters for batters vs pitchers only. The fact Hiura remains on the 26man is alarming when you trade for help and then barely use him. 2PAs as a 1b replacement these last 2 games.
  19. Baseball needs to allow teams to send down underperforming players playing out a FA contract. JBJ shouldn't be seeing action after this consistent crap worthless play. He still counts on the 40 man. I get the option limit on team controlled players, but a FA like Garcia or Narvaez last season, has to be held accountable for their suck. A team shouldn't be handcuffed with the player taking up a spot on the 25man. He's getting paid regardless. And if the guy doesn't work down in the minors a team can fine him then and only then for the refusal. Can't just go sit on your butt at home collecting the check.
  20. Looks like Adames can spend his AS break working on sliding in to 2b. Yeesh. I mean he should know better he plays SS!
  21. Brewers on statcast. .160 xba. Mentioned Narvaez 3 outs for 2 likely hits. Urias ..740 just now. Simply lineout. Not even babip luck go our way this series.
  22. Statcast- .510 xba. Brewers-GiDP. Narvaez last two PAs combined 880 xba or .440 avg. Has 3 outs to show for it.
  23. Kinda poetic justice. Bad calls lead to a baserunner followed by a HR.
  24. I'm totally in agreement that the Yelich call was trash. Strictly have been referring to today's zone, which some folks have liked to embellish to imply that I've been saying the umpiring in the series has been fine. This is the way I see it as far as balls and strikes. I agree with you that the pitch was borderline and could've gone either way. This umps strike zone has been far better than the previous two nights, but it does get frustrating when about 90% of the wrong calls go against you and emotions start to run high. Then tack on the Yelich play and it gets to Mount Vesuvius levels. There was obviously no intention on the part of Yelich to try for second and that should be taken into consideration when making a call. I just want to clarify I believe it should be called a strike on the instance it is a 2 strike pitch, the batter should be protecting in his approach. 0 strikes or 1 strike I'm not going to argue so much on, until it impacts the game. Strike 3s that are borderline. Top/bottom of plate vs inside/outside corners should go in pitcher's favor. A, it quickens the game. B it crosses the plate clearly.
