  1. Just don't hit in to a DP. The guy has terrible splits vs RHB
  2. Contreras would be standing on first after those last 2 pitches HBP
  3. Just a reminder the Cubs have nobody in their bullpen worth anything. We should be able to score some runs here late.
  4. So Don't know what a record may be but only 4 games of the Padres last 37games did their opponent have an above .500 record at time of game. As it stands that will extend to 46 games until they face the Phillies who could actually be a .500 or worse team by that time if they go on a losing streak. Game #50 then would end that stretch vs the Dodgers. Those 4 games were vs Oakland an AL team.
  5. @BrewersPD with the Video Tweet of both of these home runs. Perez with that swing for a HR? Just put the ball in play and it went for a HR. Impressive. Think that was Breaking ball he did that on too?
  6. I thought it was that if a game was tied after 5innings they restarted that game from where it last was as it was official status. Anything short of that they played a new game.
  7. Nice to see 2 badly located pitches crushed for HRs by Brewer Hitters.
  8. Don't know so much on rewarding playoff teams especially a Team like the Dodgers who practically doubles payroll used on majority of teams. They should be good. But I would consider measures on penalizing the worst teams for lack of competitiveness. Having a team below 70wins should be removed from consideration for top picks and be forced to pick after all the teams that didn't make the playoffs and reached 70 wins or more. Would keep more games competitive in September from the teams on that cusp to not win 70 games. There were 7 teams in 2019 that didn't reach 70 wins, so 13 teams had a better record and missed playoffs and the team with the worst record wouldn't draft 1st, but 14th. A Team like Cleveland missing the Playoffs with 93wins would have #13 instead. Maybe you just do this for the 1st round and revert back to the way it is now the remainder of the draft with worst team having 1st pick in 2nd round. Point here is Rebuilding teams would need to fill some of their rosters with FAs to avoid this scenario increasing their payroll and making more FAs not sit through the Spring waiting for a contract. The money should be offered by more teams.
  9. Having players miss games is the only reason the Reds gained on us last week. Easily lost 2 games with the replacements and it was 3 wasn't it? That'd have been a 1game gain on the Reds then vs a 2 game loss. Truthfully, losing 2 games to the Giants helps them win the NL West. I have more confidence facing the Giants in a series than Dodgers and Padres for the fact that the Best players reside on those teams who could carry an offense. SF just has a group outperforming but imo don't have that take a game over hitting ability(Yelich was that role in '18/'19) The SPs held the Giants to 3Runs in 18IP. Would favor the Brewers so much with that side of the matchup. Add the proper group of Bullpen guys available to pitch every game feel we stand a good chance to sweep SF.
  10. He's reached basically having his worst season ever as a MLB player. Just brutal. No SLG and poor BA. Bat him 8th. Walk and SB while Pitcher tries bunting him over to 2b or 3b if he steals 2b. He doesnt belong in the top 4 anymore.
  11. 2013 1 paid Aaron Judge for Yankees. 2014. Cardinals Jack Flaherty. Red Sox And the uber frustrating Michael Kopech 2015. Braves Mike Sorotka Pirates KeBrayan Hayes Orioles Ryan Mountcastle 2016. Padres Eric Lauer Nationals Dane Dunning Dodgers Will Smith Cardinals Dylan Carlson and Dakota Hudson Nationals former top prospect Rookie Carter Kieboom 2017 Toronto Nate Pearson(#1 team prospect) 2018. Rays Shane Mclanahan Are Comp picks of note/positivity. Certainly potential to find a gem or at minimum use the draft slot to pay one.
  12. I dont know bout that. He hit it hard. The guy is covering 1st and you would assume on the pitch shuttlestepped away from the bag so off balance. Could have also taken a funky hop. If nobody is on 1st that ball also likely makes past them down that line.
  13. Oddly enough Rowdy has 6 doubles for his year thus far. Someone mentioned his service time. I'm not sure it wound back. Seems his last game before option was June 18 and he played his first game in Milw July 7's double header. That isn't a full 20days which I thought you had to be down before the days counted against service time. He would have played day 19 in to the option. Also I think with the amount of days beyond 162games he would still accrue enough service time to have flipped his year of service.
  14. Jimmy Nelson requires elbow surgery and may be out of baseball til 2023. Hate to see it.
  15. there's no way you trade him this offseason. His value is nil right now. We use up his options and give him a chance to recover from this. The value he has now will likely be at or near when DFA to get him off the 40man at that point in time.
  16. If pitching Wins have any bearing on winning the Cy Young at this point the award itself has become irrelevant. Agreed and noted. but when guys like Gausman and Walker or Peralta even exist with similar numbers and Woodruff has a 7-6 record and Buehler at 11-2 would be a leaning factor towards which 2.2-ish ERA and 200ks pitcher do I choose for Cy Young. There's also the hill that having Burnes and Peralta performing at this may take the votes away from Woodruff. In line that one or both get 2nd and 3rd place votes and Woodruff takes a 4th or 5th, while Buehler is clearly top dog in LA's rotation. Buehler also has that fact he was expected this level of pitcher and him being in LA and confirming that he indeed was a top 10 worthy prospect will be rewarded first. Again that is where I think we stand at this point. There are so many contenders this year who likely would be an easy top Cy Young or #2 in previous seasons. Gotta close the deal down the stretch to claim it.
  17. Could have maybe seen his numbers in 2017 and 18 and said a no defense 2nd baseman scratching around 800 OPS wasn't enough as his slg went off the charts in 2019. Changed that launch angle from a premium to too high
  18. Freddy won't be winning this year over Woodruff. Woodruff has a head start on recognition and only a collapse would Peralta be ahead of him. Sure Woody has no kind of W/L record to be CY but that just shows he and Peralta won't win CY this year without Woody not just doing what he's doing but winning 4/5ths of his remainder starts. So Buehler and Degrom are ahead in the CY and Buehler and LA being king right now in MLB is going to win barring a collapse/injury.
  19. ClosetBF- If we hop on over to Statcast, there are some stats you can see what MLB avg is and where Willy stacks up to them. One of the first in line is Barrels. This season his stat there is a whopping 12.7%. ML average is 6.6% Now last year Adames shows at 9.9%. And now for his career the average is 9.4% So his contact is harder hit more often. Then you can go on to EV and Launch Angle. Exit Velocity ML average is 88.3. Adames is having his highest for his career at 89.7. The higher the EV the more likely a ground ball finds the hole, but in Adames' case his Launch Angle is at a career high 17.3 and he has a career average of 12.3. ML average is 12 degrees. Yelich meanwhile has a career average of 4.8. His last great year in 2019 before injury he had reached 11.3. Had an EV of 93.3. This year Yelich has reverted to a low of 4.1 Launch Angle. I'd say for Adames keeping the Barrels high and his Launch Angle around a premium angle is why he has a higher BABIP. I will say, 17.3 is minor bit too high as approaching 20+ means balls are getting caught vs falling down. I think the 13-16 launch angle is prime(Tatis Jr at 13 this year) and seeing Adames near the premium LA for his career is why his BABIP is higher than expected to go along with the Barrels. The fact that he has a career arc in Exit Velocity increasing should actually give us an expectation that the BABIP will not only sustain but could improve so long as his LA doesn't continue higher than where he's at now.
  20. I mean a HBP and a Walk is 2/3rds on a pitching bases loaded bad. The singles may not have been all to flashy but that is bases loaded bad
  21. Just heard on espn milwaukee radio that the Mets found potential inkury with either his elbow or shoulder. Forget which. Boras is Rockers agent says he's healthy.
  22. Tough night tonight. 0 for 10 Risp. Gameday has batters at 24Lob. No clutch hits tonight.
