I think the idea Gute would trade up in the first round is based on what he did last year to get Savage, ignorant to the fact GB has very little trade up Capitol. Last year we had 2picks in the first #30 being the 2nd in the round vs 1st in 2020. They used 2 4th rd picks (114&118) to move up 9spots. GB has just one 4th this season and its #136 overall. Any trade up in the 1st round would cripple the rest of the draft. You'd be staring at maybe 2 quality picks for your entire draft and day 3 pick hopefuls. I really only believe the 2LBs Queen or Murray or WR who they thought would never be there Juedy,Ruggs, and Jefferson that they make a 1st rd pick. Nobody else keeps them in the 1st rd. Trading down is almost a certainty. Ive watched a good 3hours of Mocks just now and WRs are going to be there in the 2nd pick. That makes the idea on a trade down so obvious. Dont get those LBs now you have the extra pick to pick one up in the 3rd or 4th(Wilson) Biadasz or an OL that fell would also fit with an extra 3rd Rd pick being early. It's a really odd draft order as so many teams have multiple picks in the same rounds. Miami will have had 3 1st rd selections before GB picks. Buffalo has 2 1st but nothing til early 5th I believe. So the expectation is them trading down. How many more hours? Cant get here soon enough

I dig the idea on 1&2 for both Colts 2s. Simply because the WR I'm enamored with[Chase Claypool) seems destined for selections around there. I envision he being the kind of Gronk, Kelce, Gonzalez, and going back Eric Moulds defensive, mismatch gamewreckers. The only tidbit is I see more and more where Love is selected before GBs pick. I dont know if that's to mock players who shouldnt be there for the team the writer supports and lo and behold hes there!. Tristen Wirfs regarded as best OL in draft by most lasted to 10 or 11 in a mock or 2. I wonder how quickly or slowly the draft runs when they do it.
-
I think part of that is that Im seeing mocks where they put all 4 possible QBs within the top 10 picks. One NFL.com guy Mocked all 4 in first 6picks. Herbert being the #2 pick. Love the 6th. Jefferson seems to be a 15type pick. It amazes me the general #3 or 4 pick is the CB. Is that position really worthy of a top 8 pick? IF its Detroits pick though great.
-
Welp, that idea via draft values would be a huge loss by the Colts. More appropriate value would be their 44th and 75th. Which likely feels like to far a drop. They could do the 34 and 75 but at the cost of GB's 94th. That would mean no Dye in this idea. It really would be great to have 4 picks in top 3 rounds and if it meant lowering to 44 I'd stick with it. Getting 4 picks in the first 3 rounds has to guarantee getting your future LB, #2WR to pair with Adams. the other two picks you can go whatever way you want. OL or DL. TE or a 2nd OL/DL.

The problem with this is that obviously Melvin didn't accept a Gomez for Hader/Santana trade without expanding it to get another piece he wanted. So you really can't say that it *was* two trades since he wouldn't accept it on its own. That said, it's easier to evaluate the trade as a whole if you can break it into smaller theoretical trades in which you deem one of the teams won all of. Probably just semantics, but I can see why it's a little irking to hear people call it two trades. Yeah, some trades just don't work on their own. To me Phillips+Houser for Fiers is a little misleading because it implies that trade on its own works. There's absolutely no way if we had pulled Gomez off the table and made that offer for Fiers that it would have stood a chance of being accepted. And as you mentioned, just because we were offered Hader+Santana for Gomez doesn't mean that that offer worked for us without the additional pieces. Ultimately, that's not an offer that we accepted. From the horse's mouth: Melvin: Hader and Domingo Santana were the two main guys in the trade. I kept trying to get Brett Phillips, and Jeff had asked about [Mike] Fiers. Fiers: I still had another full season before arbitration, so I would have thought Milwaukee would have kept me. But we had a lot of young pitchers coming up, and I was a little older [30] at the time, and they weren’t trying to win. Melvin: I said, “Jeff, we can expand this deal. I’ll include Fiers, but I would love to have Phillips and one smaller piece to make it a 4-for-2 trade.” So we went back and forth on about six to nine names, and then we agreed on Adrian Houser and some international bonus money. What that says to me is Hader/Santana and a 3rd lower prospect not named Phillips. He added Fiers to get Phillips and asked for a list to chose his 4th that wound up as Houser. What would be fun is if the names on that list were told to see who they may have missed on or how great a choice Houser was.

Seen a mock I could go with. NFLspinzone has one where the Colts trade up to GB for their 34pick and 75th pick. Perfect. Now with the added pick they get WR Jalen Reager, TE Cole Kmet, #75 for IDL Davon Hamilton and 94 for LB Troy Dye. Perfect lineup filling needs while not reaching. I might have gone with Chase Claypool if you were planning to draft a TE potentially with your 2nd pick. Be a complete field of matchup nightmares with Sterberger, Claypool, Kmet, Lazard lining up for Lafleur's running schemes to block with. Probably pick your best OL left on your board with the 5th pick. That would be a HR draft for me.
-
Its based on the revisit on how the trade went down reading the link above. Its one trade, yes, Gomez for Hader and Santana was on the table. Wanting Phillips, Melvin suggested adding Fiers if they'd give them a 4th prospect. From a list he chose Houser, thus the comps of 2 separate trades in 1 single trade.

I guess Id have to say LB Zach Baun. Wisconsin ties, so I could accept the pick. Ive seen Baun mocked often either just before GBs pick til about top 6 picks in 2nd round. LB is a need to replace Martinez and Baun leaves the feeling of being that replica. But that doesnt fit the OP. So Id have to say Safety. Generally that is either your #1 or 2 captain on defense with whomever is your LB leader. Maybe you make it happen with the idea to trade Amos for a draft pick? Might not happen this year but next off-season? CBS sports has Xavier Mckinney and Grant Delpit inside their top 30. That would be a value pick if dropped to #30. McKinney especially. The old BPA adage could apply.
-
Figured this would have been noted. Tavaris Jackson died in a Car Accident yesterday. Former Viking and backup for Wilson when Seattle won the SB.
-
I will say this. Ive seen the QB mocks to GB Froom, Eason and Love. I dont think its good use on a pick unless you were really believing they were the next Rodgers/Favre. So few picks of value, I want the team surrounding Rodgers or the Defense with help for the next 3+yrs. Let the QB of the future fall in to our hands, vs forcing the QB backup and future. Let the next bad season with a top 12 pick be the opportunity to replace Rodgers. We've been spoiled since 1992, I can handle 2years or even a decade of 3-6win seasons if it meant Rodgers&co went on to win a SB. Hate to see them spend a 1st or 2nd rd pick on somebody who wont take the field unless your #1 player is injured. Draft one in last 4 picks and be done with it.

It amazes me that Wilson can be seen so well yet be considered a 4th round type of pick. WalterFootball has him as the 10ranked ILB but when you read the little blurb on him he should be somewhere in the in the top 5 if not 3rd. He just sounds better. Maybe the age is a problem? GB could move their 4th,5th, and first 6th round pick to move up to roughly the top 5 picks within the 4th round. Don't see how he'd make it to bottom of 4th round and don't see why Gute would leave GB with 4 picks in the 200s. Wilson would need to be drafted in the 3rd round if they really think hes their guy. If I add up the sum of every Packer draft pick value they essentially have enough to move up to the #14 draft pick and be done with the entire draft. That's really bad. Take the top 5 total, that total moves to #15 draft pick. Really poor draft capitol, good draft volume. Going to need that luck where all our needs and talented players fall in to our lap or a trade of one of next season's draft picks to get who you wont in these first 3 rounds.

Agreed. Plus, stros went 4-6 in games Fiers started for them in 2015. He pitched decent, sure. Houston went on to win the WC that year and then lose to KC. Fiers wasn't very valuable to them in 16-17 at all. Meanwhile, Phillips had some big moments and then helped net us Moustakas in 2018, and still have Houser. I think the trade was a good idea for houston, but I don't think it takes a homer to say Milwaukee easily won that trade. Fiers had a 0.5 bWAR/2.3 fWAR for the Astros. Houser had a 1.9 bWAR/1.6 fWAR for the Brewers last year and is under control through 2024. Houston has not won that part of the trade by any stretch. He made 9starts and one 5IP relief coming in the 3rd inning, Hou down 6-2. 10appearances over 60IP. The context for the trade is he made a great contribution during their playoff run. He was better than the pitchers Houston had been using. Houser didnt pitch meaningful innings until 2018. Thats 0 value to Houston 2015-2017 when Fiers pitched for them. Houser has a career 4.21ERA in the minors and it was higher before the trade. That's essentially giving Phillips through 2022 to say the Moustakas trade was a win or lose. Regardless how Moose helped the team in 2018. 0.7BWAR(Fiers 0.8BWAR Hou stretch)

If Fiers was quite terrible up to that point, then Woodruff/Houser are more so quite terrible. Fiers had a 3.66ERA and 3.61Fip for Milw in 341IP. A 2.8 BB/9 and 9.2 K/9 He's only pitched "terrible" for the Astros. During that stretch after trade Fiers did better for Houston than he was doing for Milw that season. That's a winning trade in respect to a season push in the playoffs. He's pitched to a 6.9BWar the last 2 seasons. Gomez was the worst trade for them. Fiers stated what the problem was in regards to the jerking around Gomez in starting lineups. Gomez netted Milw Hader and Santana. Fiers Phillips and Houser. Huge win on the Fiers part of that trade for Houston. I’ve never seen a report where it was broken down in to two trades like that. That’s interesting, I never knew it was actually two separate trades. Of course one could say it was Gomez for Santana and Phillips and the other side Fiers for Hader and Houser. Wonder if that’s a huge win for Houston on the Fiers side of things still. Or maybe it’s a huge win for Houston on both sides? Thoughts? When you read the whole transcript it talks about Gomez with Hader and Santana and Melvin wanted Phillips. That they remeber Houston asking about Fiers previously. So Melvin then made Fiers available with Gomez and thinking the trade was too much from Milw asked it to be 4-2. Houser wound up the 4th.

Going over the Packers selections and it would really seem to me that they will trade down out of the 1st round. This draft seems to be deep at WR but also OT I'm reading.(WalterFB has 18WR top 4Rd grade vs 14 and 13OT top 4 grade vs 10last season) I think GB would want 4 shots at this depth in the 1st 3 rounds vs just 3. All of their draft picks except the 1st 6th round pick are extremely late in the rounds. That basically means low trade capitol or blowing a draft pick in the following round to move up less than 12 spots. My guess would be moving down in to 2nd. Taking their 5th and early 6th to move in to bottom of 4th or early 5th round. Just draft the late 6th and 7th round choices. You hope to get a WR/ILB/OT with 3 of the first 4 picks you now have in top 3 rounds. Nab 2 guys late in 4th round that is left high on your draft board that fell. 6/7 rounds just much the same either your draft board BPA or you fill out some ST. 6picks during rds 2,3,and 4. Trying to target what the draft order is currently and draft capitol there's not much in way of matching up or ideal sense. I'd have to assume where the trade comes from will be from the multiple teams who trade down ahead of GB's pick that use the capitol to trade up to GB's selection in the 1st rd. Jacksonville is who I'm going to target in this. Have #9, 20, and 42. Have a Lot of needs, QB included in them. Move down from 9 however they like. Use 42nd pick plus a pick from that trade(mid 3rd) or late 3rd plus #116. Jordan Love or Jacob Eason seem like the extra year control QBs who will be around at 30 with bordeline 1st rd pick grades. Jaguars will have added 3 1st rd choices for the future and WR/QB pairing could be 2 of them.

Move back 10 spots, and get the 3rd pick #90 of the 3rd round. Nope, they should pay more for the 1st round control GB is giving up. I might have to ask for both 2nd round picks 40 and 57 for #30, GB's 3rd round #94, and the 5th round pick #175. There just has to be more gotten in return to move out of the 1st round than just a low 3rd pick Pairing 90 and 94 has a #65value. Otherwise you're staring at a "deep draft" with only 2 picks at 40&62 followed by 90/94. That's a lot of hope and a prayer to wait til 90 for that depth to fall on to your laps. What value chart are you using for your values? I think you're over-estimating the value of the '1st Round' label a bit. 10 spots isn't a huge drop at all, especially in a draft with more talent than usual in the 2nd-3rd rounds. The difference between the player taken at 30 vs. 40 is likely lesser this year than typical. About the first one I'd seen when googled. https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/games/draft-pick-value.php The value obviously comes out in GB's favor. I just don't believe all trades are of equal value. Houston doesn't have a 1st round pick. They'd lose their 2 twos to have 2 threes and 2 5s. It's something reasonable to maybe believe they'd do. Essentially they moved up while gaining 1 draft pick. Personally I think if GB moves back from the first round we're looking at maybe for a QB that's fallen and wanted(Jordan Love) or say RB with WI Jonathon Taylor. Looking at early 2nd round choices the Colts have the 2nd pick in 2nd round to move up to select a QB. Wouldn't be much dropped back but you'd have an overnight to get a feel for what's going to be selected ahead of your choice, what is left over atop your board and maybe how far back you could move based on what you think the next 3-10 picks are shaping up as being. The Chargers make sense on a move up from their 2nd rd pick to draft a QB(ideally they've moved back and not selected Tua) Pair up that 2nd rd pick with one of the picks they maybe got from the 1st round trade down(a late 3rd choice ideally or GB would have to send something back SD's way. As LouisEly mentioned, I think trade value sites are ignoring the 1st round control. Maybe somewhere there could be an agreement on what that value is worth. The fact #32 is valued at 590 and #33(1st) in 2nd is valued at 580 shows just that. Maybe values where the draft pick trade down involves moving out of first and trading up from below 1st round should be like 50pts addition needed. Looking back from 2017 the Browns trade for 29 for 33 a trade value site would give GB a +20 only on the move down. So based on that I'm off but it is something to maybe question Football GMs on the subject.

Look up a site called Cardschat.com Become a member and post. They offer freerolls that pay out $100 to $200 with participation in to better tourneys. Americas card room (ACR) is where I played with the freeroll offers of cardschat. I've not used to deposit thus far. Deposits are fairly bogus anyway as you'll have to spend your share plus winnings to actually achieve the bonus. All the while the poker room is raking in your money played. Their 2nd site seems to be Black Chip poker. And 3rd Pokerstars. I have a very old acct still with BetOnline. Virtually no freerolls there, but better micro Sit n Gos than ACR. Even a 50/50 version. Gotta say Cardschat shows been open 15years. For the freerolls they run and infinite amount of poker info shared, I didn't think to much on talent playing the freeroll. Money'd 2 of first 3 played, but hadn't played but maybe 1 in over 2months. Just miss their scheduling.

Why would you think something like an oil supply crisis would happen? Trump filled the US oil reserves to the absolute tops couple weeks back or so when the oil prices were thought to be a great discount...one even better today. Here's where the economy will take a freefall, supply and demand with ongoing employment. I seen a Meier post early today letting customers be aware prices for many goods will be noticeably higher as we stay shut down. The last example which I remember was given eggs will have higher pricing. The millions of people that are or will be collecting unemployment, a reduced income that will end up purchasing less than what you could purchase with that same amount a week ago. It'll be a rippling effect. Food or clothing. Answer Food. Effect-say good bye to Kohl's in WI. Effect-jobs Lost. Effect-Unemployment increase. Effect-Market worsens. You get where this is trending. It'll only get worse when the money people get during this isn't saved and used for bills and rent. When that happens the housing market will take a bigger hit when mortgages are falling behind. But we'll see, what does the gov't do to slow that scenario? How long do we choose flattening the curve vs an economy slowly in ruins?

Sad to hear but today the first death happened here in Sheboygan at a nursing home. A worker and another resident were also confirmed infected. The spreading is now happening close to home.

Simulated 2020 Baseball Season (JosephC)
brewcrewdue80 replied to JosephC's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
And so it continues with Yelich at the 4th spot. No matter how bad Hiura is batting ahead of him. I noticed the BREF simulation was doing the same lineup setup and Hiura with under .200BA like CC would just continue setting his lineup that way. Brewers are probably exceeding expectations because Sogard is clearly being given the benefit of the doubt of his year last season with not only decent batting thus far but power on top. Sogard had 2HRs to Yelich's 0 I think it was on the site. -
Thing is I think markets historically endure a lull late May til maybe October Maybe its late August. Obviously we're in abnormal times. Im just leery on the markets being propped up by the fed, Care plan, Trump's continued push to keep the economy in higher spirits. How bad will NY really be in the coming 2weeks now with aid from the Navel Boat? Market was also propped up when Biden had that big Super Tuesday. But he is clearly having speech issues[dementia?] and that may push Sanders back in to the Democrat candidate for Pres. We've all just been pushed back til April 30th. What happens if/when that becomes May 14th? When do small businesses go bellyup? Unemployment just last week for WI was 115,000+ new applicants. Trump i just read said tonight it's going to be a painful 2weeks. Seems just still a bumpy volatile road we're on to me to keep on the sidelines.

I work seasonally. And wasn't allowed to collect unemployment when not working. After Gov Evers orders, my manager sent out an email telling us that we can collect unemployment at this time. As the work we do has been declared non-essential. Your brother needs to be filing unemployment.

First 4 rounds all seem excitingly talented. I didn't delve below the 5th round The 1st any sound amazing. Claypool I'll take. 2nd rd. Well so because Claypool is taken Im going to take that 3rd rd ILB Wilson. 3rd rd. Ill select Hamilton the DT because 4th rd can select Tanner Muse. Dang Ive wound up with 3Def players to 1 Offensive. Id probably poke around with trades and find an OL to draft. With multiple 5s. I really dont want to trade down out of 2nd rd and preferably move up in the 2nd or acquire another 3rd. Guess the Claypool pick #1 ruins #2 and on down the line not as appeasing. Im committed to Claypool and 4yrs with him vs 3 after 1st. Hope an OL is around for 2nd. Wilson at 3rd.
