  1. No doubt a Thunder for Jones' Lightning. It'd be great if they could work a 3 year extension deal with Jones. No doubt Rodgers has a chemistry with him in the passing game.
  2. I want to say a WR isnt the only draft pick to help Rodgers. The team could have added an OL to help him out. Spriggs was a complete failure(was anyone surprised? Indiana?) Sadly Derrick Henry and Michael Thomas was 2 of the 3picks before him and GB traded up 9spots to select Spriggs. Montgomery was drafted 2015 in 3rd round. We're now 5 drafts since taking a WR in the top 3 rounds. Jenkins last season was a Godsend of a pick. Ezra Cleveland could have been another for this season. Rollins, Jones, Biegel, and Jackson were meant as fixes for the D and fixed nothing. Burks is half a season away from being added to that list. Yes the team needed a lot of help on defense but I think first&second rd choices of CBs or weak Safety hybrids isnt the best choices. A Stud LB or DE imo have more importantance. Safety I am cool with if they are going to be CF Captain type. Capers Def didnt do those choices justice. Trying to look on the bright side, Nelson and Cobb broke out their 4th seasons. So maybe MVS or ESB can suddenly break out with Funchess and Lazard. Adams broke out season 3.
  3. The next RB taken was at 76. 86 after that and 93 just before our 3rd round pick. There were a number of higher pre-draft guys expected to be gone before then, like Baun. Why not have traded down? After you traded up? If that WR group he was clamoring to snag one was all gone that was 13 picks or more from your selection, there is a great amount of time to get on the phone alert youre looking to trade down. And Id have to assume some of the same notion with Deguara. How is he not capable to move back where the pick more suits the value to the player? Like I said earlier I would estimate he could have gotten a top 100 pick with the value of not reaching on his picks. Lets just go with pick 1 or 2 of 4th rd. Akeem Gaither OLB or Saahdiq Charles OT from LSU. Its the 2nd draft bringing this up. We'll see if it happens again next season. Will he learn from this post draft media ranking and adjust his style? Or will he be out there spending $20 for $17 return value.
  4. The 4th round pick moved them to 26 in the 1st round. And i mentioned that 5th. Or 6ths would have moved them up a little to grab Mims/Van but it would take the 3rd to move up at least where the upper group of WRs were picked. Too much to afford losing the 3rd round pick when your tunnel vision was set on Dillon.
  5. Both Jones AND Jamal Williams are free agents after the season. I think it's likelier the Packers re-sign Jones than Williams (and are more likely to sign Jones than letting both players walk). Thinking ahead who would GB Franchise tag after this season? Jones 1? Dillon RB1/Deguera RB2 next season not signing either? Glad Gute and MLF have that potential hole filled. So trading up in the 1st round cost the team the resources to. Trade up in the 2nd round and get the WR they were comfortable with. I wonder, 5th rd not enough, 3rd round too much. Denzel Mims went 3picks before GB's pick, Van Jefferson 5, then Claypool 13, KJ Hamler 16, Kmet 19, and Shenault 20. 3 picks is next to nothing same as 5 so they had no inkling on pairing a 6th with another 6th or just the 5th. So Ive gotta go that they wanted nothing to do with Mims or Van Jefferson. The 13picks or higher then must be the last of the guys they were targeting and theyd have to use the 3rd round pick to begin moving that far up. So that said a failure they moved to phase 2, improving on short yardage with Dillon and Deguara which still such a reach on for 3rd round. I have to say that Gute has his guys predetermined vs flexibility roster fill based on moves of last season and this year in the draft. He wasnt going to walk away without Savage, not without Dillon, and not without Deguara. And I assume not without Love once he fell below 22. Maybe his draft board was Aiyuk, Jefferson, or Reagor as 1st pick and Love was must get if they werent there. That is the only take I can have out of this class. We ought to do better on 2nd or 3rd and 2yards or less to go. 4th down and 1 situations. Theyve got the added lineman for depth or running a 6th man for the line (Runyan) Gute is going to the flea market with his draft capitol and spending Big Box prices on what he buys.
  6. Having a couple days to digest this draft class. Heres my thoughts. Ill give 4guys of 9 likely to play meaningful football on the field for GB. Love being one of them hopefully. So Dillon i like as 3rd down and short thumper that we didn't display well last season. Deguara is going to fill Vitale's role with better pass catching skills and open yhe playbook more. Hope he can block. After that, I dont like the LB pick. The OL picks I will go Runyan to make an impact. The last DL pick never know til hes playing or dropped. Its a draft with 1 player (Dillon) who may see more than 4starts (Jones injury) this season and the rest backup benchwarmers if they even make the team. I'm not even going to anoint Love the backup starter to Rodgers for this season. Thats nearly my best hope out of this class. The DL may make it rosier but not for some time. Based on what positions were drafted i really expect a Large role for Sterberger and Deguara motion misdirection plays. Ervin motion misdirection with Jones in backfield. Deguara and Dillon short yardage plow plays. No deep threats going to make the offense boring. No chance over the 49ers Defense (much less offense)but the team may just get to play them in the playoffs. I have no outlook Rodgers will see the SB in a Green Bay uniform again.
  7. I know nothing on rules in CFL. First take watching this is man coverage on the line to be jammed doesnt exist. It wad almost like watching the probowls of the past zone coverage. RBegs shows strong hands and winner to catch 50-50s. Other than that I cant really say theres any thing else to be jubilant on. The video mix isnt that great for route indicating speed, burst, separation. How would he do getting jammed at line of scrimmage? So while cool video, it is lesser competition and maybe rules that help in his favor.
  8. On Linsley, Jenkins was a center moved over to guard. Just a thought on the guys drafted or with whats on the backup list, one can move to LG vs a center role.
  9. Certainly like the picks this 6th rd to value. Hanson doesnt read all to well for an everyday starter, but ST? Long snapper future?. The last one from Indiana meh. A project based on read. Maybe learns better form to get away from his weakness and take advantage of his strength. Big dude could just be a big body for punt/FG plays.
  10. Oof NFL prospect report is awful sounding. UDFA projected.
  11. Yes but just saying that has to be the reason he fell. Mocks and projections had him higher, but these NFL GMs apparently dropped him down a peg.
  12. Either of the WRs or Love still being there. Rd 2 considering the TE pick and 33% chance we drafted Love Washington drafted Antonio Gibson out of Memphis with the NFL draft profile saying day 1 he'd be a 4 phase player. Return&cover kicks. Hybrid running back creating matchup problems for linebackers. LB named Davion Taylor picked 103 sounds like a great boom or bust develop. Basically didnt play in HS, sounds athletically gifted and ST player from day 1. Suggested 2 yr develop would time perfectly with Kirk sey contract, Burks? One or both of the Smiths, Gary kind of fit. The 4th rd pick we would have had there are a slew of slot/nickle back CBs that were drafted about there. Gandy was there for WR if we got Love 1st rd. And or taking the chance on Jake Fromm could been a nice grab.
  13. Good to see the Badgers come off the board, but other than Taylor going exactly where he was expected, Baun and Biadasz both slid further than I though/hoped they would. Baun had a some kind of test that caused him to drop. Biadasz. I seen number of mocks with him as a 2nd rd pick but prospect rankings that he was a late 3 early 4 pick.
  14. Minnesota with solid picks once again. Gotta say at least 5 of 7 picks thus far see the field more often than Gary did last aeason.
  15. Like it above Rollie. Here it is obvious now that Gute has no willingness to having players fall to him. I like what hed drafted for 2019, but he took Gary at a position where there were at least 3 if not 4 equal options for a DE/OLB. Trade down pick who falls to your lap. Darnell Savage wasnt expected in the 1st round. Gute moved up 9 spots to take his guy. Jenkins was a great pick but again higher than rated. Could he have moved down and taken him. Sternberger was a perfect pick close enough to say he actually had him drop in to his lap. But say by 10picks. Now we look at the Love draft. Did he really have to move up 4 spots to pick him? Why not Queen who fell to 26? LB starter year 1 and could be your LB for 10years? Certainly Queen wasnt going to fall to him but why wasnt Love going to? 4th round pick cost because of his once again itchy trigger finger. Dillon? 2nd round? Reach. Trade down vs draft far early. Last the TE. Nobody anywhere had him above the 5th round. But Gute like a bad QB locked his eyes on his target and never scanned the field for the wide open receiver standing alone in the endzone. Takes a 5th round guy at best with his 3rd. This is my disgust with his drafting skills. Its not that I hate the players, its the value of the draft pick capitol being poorly spent. Not to mention the tunnel vision this is my guy Im pulling the trigger. We started this draft with around 1850 draft capitol. While Love was technically a draft pt gain, Dillon and certainly the TE were draft value losses. Taking a 20 pick value from 64 to 84 and a 1st pick 5th rd value from 96 is 184points. We won technically 33pts on Love but total thats 151pts or about the 88th pick in the draft. Wouldnt it be nice to be sitting here discussing another top 100 draft pick? And Id easily say the same for last year. Gute is losing a top 100 pick now in B2B drafts.
  16. Minnesota just traded and has 13 picks still remaining! 3 for 1 with NO. This is very interesting as the amount of guys from this draft class could be their way to scout this class better vs what you knew up to the Combine. Their first 4 picks already seem to make this a great draft for them.
  17. Oh yeah forgot, 3rd straight benchwarmer.
  18. 6th rd draft projection TE. Keep that dynasty draft alive Gute. Maybe he will be the long snapper?
  19. Jake Fromm is available. Most sensible pick the way Gute is going. A fire isnt enough for Rodgers, they need an Inferno! Also building QB2 for that dynasty draft
  20. Welp, so much for the Vikings not taking another CB. Another need filled.
  21. Ill add the next pick is very obvious a OL. Continue building a roster for Love.
  22. I figured it out. Gutekunst thinks hes in a dynasty fantasy draft. No clue this is for the 2020 season.
  23. Hyperbole much? Dillon is a tremendous athlete. Jones, Dillon and Williams will make a fun 3-headed RB monster. Heard rumors this offseason that the Packers wanted to update the backfield. Dillon is a load, though. Jones has the wiggle, and Dillon is going to bring the thunder. I'll give you credit, you will accept any crap for the team you root for. Gay, Chin, Wilson better picks than this guy. Somebody ranked as a late 3rd early 4th. We have a RB who led the NFL in TDs and youre fine with a 2nd round selection of one? Jones was a 5th round pick. REAAAAACHHHH
  24. I hope Rodgers retires. A RB? Take the ball out his hands even more. Tanking. Thats the only explanation. Gute is done with the Rodgers' era and hes drafting a team so he build around Love 4years from now. 3picks. Zero 2020 starters.
  25. Im going to predict Gute trades down now for a team that wants Baun. Try to regain a 4th rd pick.
