Change Bucholz to Lester and were talking. Straight up, player for player.
  2. BrewCrewForever
Love the selection. Really liked a lot of the things Macha had to say, he won't be Ned Yost that seems for certain. Can't wait for 2009 to start.

Screw the Phillies and their fans. Oh well, at least we can name our Manager and get on with this important offseason.
  4. BrewCrewForever
Wow! Iwamura made a hell of a play there though. Just wow.
  5. BrewCrewForever
Idiotic move by Maddon to leave Howell in.
  6. BrewCrewForever
Now Maddon is leaving Howell in over Price? Hmmm.
  7. BrewCrewForever
    Rocco!
  8. BrewCrewForever
For sure, why Maddon didn't go with Howell or Price is beyond me. Jenkins, Dobbs and Stairs. All lefties, go with a lefty.
  9. BrewCrewForever
That was awful. Iwamura should have had that, they always talk about how great his defense is but he has made some bad plays this series.
  10. BrewCrewForever
Man Jenkins ripped that double. Balfour is awesome, but how do you not throw Howell or Price to start the bottom of the 6th when all of the Phillies good PH are lefties?
  11. BrewCrewForever
Man, if Macha isn't the Manager TH is not going to look good since he seems to be speaking of it like it's a guarantee.

There have been a lot of cuts at Entercom and really all over the radio landscape. I got my Associates degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting this past May. During my two years in school I was working at a station part-time and still do. I up until recently wanted to find a full-time gig somewhere but am now having second thoughts. I have a good full-time job now where I make good money and have awesome benefits not in radio. And with all the cuts in radio I am very reluctant to quit my job now to take a full-time radio gig and then just get axed in a year or so. Especially when you see guys that have been around for quite sometime like Clemons and Saunders who have made names for themselves getting axed.

I agree that 1250 relies too much on the callers. I mean of course you should have some callers and let the fans chime in. But in the end of the radio personalities need to carry the show. They are the reason people listen, not for the callers. I think ESPN Radio in Milwaukee does a little better job of this on their local shows. But the national shows Rome and Patrick are better on 1250 then M&M and Tirico on ESPN 540.

I might be down with that as well. Patrick425, great story. That is crazy that you have been playing since 1984 and used USA Today and regular mail to run the league. Being someone who works in radio, that reminds me of the "old" days of radio. Much more work then there is today, like fantasy sports.

I would have to second "Ken Tremendous" aka: Michael Schur. Dude writes for FJM.com, writes episodes of The Office and plays Cousin Mose. http://www.02138mag.com/asset/968.gif

Patrick and Rome back-to-back is like sports talk radio heaven to me. My two favorites hands down.

    Thanks for the info rightomac.

I really hope it is Macha. I will be very disappointed now if Brenly or Randolph are named Manager after the series ends.

Nope. But I would swap something else to obtain Jackson. I have read on various blogs and websites that he may be available this offseason. He does walk to many, but he has flat out electric stuff. Perhaps Maddux could harness his control like he did with McClung.

Not related to season 5 but an Office related note. If you are like me and have not picked up season 4 on DVD yet Bestbuy has it on sale this week for $29.99. Going to pick it up today.
  22. BrewCrewForever
That is not a bad point hawing. And it seems to be working since most seem to like Macha. But if you put Macha in a list with Valentine and Johnson he would be last. Interesting stuff.
  23. BrewCrewForever
Yeah, looks like Brenly will be back in the booth with Len Kasper. But if it was done to Brenly and Randolph, then I would rather have Brenly. But hopefully we won't have to worry about that and Macha will be announced right after the World Series ends.

Well only a little over 3 months until sign up for fantasy baseball 2009. Has anyone seen any sites that already have rankings up position by position?

Katuluu and Schlitz001 also great quotes to bring up. The more I think about it, the more I think this was one of my all-time favorite episodes.
