OK, for anyone requesting autographs through the mail, here's some more clarification. I was wrong in only including 58 cent stamps on my 9x12 SASEs. A 9x12 envelope automatically requires 80 cents postage. Plus that covers up to a total of one ounce of weight. An envelope plus one 8x10 should be around exactly one ounce and 80 cents should cover both your postage there plus another 80 cents on your SASE. Anything additional is going to cost 17 cents per extra ounce. Plus if you include anythingi rigid like a piece of cardboard it's going to run you an extra 33 cents. So to be safe, if you're sending a SASE plus your own picture plus cardboard, you should have $1.30 postage on the envelope (80 cents plus 17 cents for extra ounce plus 33 cents for the cardboard) you're sending there and on your SASE. But like I was talking about before, I don't know how diligent the post office is in checking these things. It seems pretty hit or miss. I've gotten envelopes back with my 58 cents postage without any problem. I've gotten a couple that were stamped "postage due" but the only time I actually had to pay was when I was outside and saw the mailman coming and he said I owed him 44 cents. So anyway, if you're like me and send out 20 or 30 autograph requests at a time and aren't inlcuding your own item and won't be crushed if you don't get anything back, it's probably OK to guess on the postage (80 cents). But if you're sending out one or two at a time and it's your own picture or whatever, I would actually take it to the post office, have them weigh it and then put the amount they tell you on the outgoing envelope plus the SASE. Hope this helps. Yes, I'm a a total dork.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/glasses.gif
