  1. I can’t wait to see him compete in the Alumni Legends game.
  2. What about Gage Workman with the Tigers, as they are pretty deep on the left side of the infield, he can play short or 3rd, decent defense. Some power. On the negative side he is older at 27, he has not done much in the majors and he strikeout a lot. It can’t take that much to get him and even if he had a .650 ops, it’s better than what we have.
  3. Dare I say, I did not care for any of these with the exception of the Durbin trade. I may even be on record saying Vaughn will never be in a Brewer uniform ever…. …… yet another reason I am not a GM.
  4. What I would like and what I expect are two different things….. What I expect is some left handed reliever I never heard of before who is 28 years old who they expect they can tweak a delivery to make them magical. Jorge Solar and some cash for Nestor C and a mid level prospect and Paul Dejong for a player to be named later.
  5. While it pains me to say it, the 1982 Cardinals fits that description. I think they had 67 home runs all season.
  6. I know it’s kind of a been here done that kind of thing but what about Luis Urias? He has had success here, should not cost a lot, short term, I would not mind giving him another try at third base.
  7. It may add to his trade value but it seems like this will leave a bad taste for others who are considering joining the club.
  8. I think he is going to try to kick the tires on Zach Efflin. But I think he needs to shed some payroll to do it .
  9. What about Nathaniel Lowe? Former Gold glover , silver slugger who could plug a hole at first base for a few years. Not having an outstanding season but better than what we have.
  10. Zach Davies could be another guy with the Royals ,stats looked ugly last year with a 7.00 ERA , high whip, but FIP was 4.58
  11. I day into the season and was able to use Jackson Chourio!!!
  12. Maybe I’m wrong but it would seem Devin Williams is the last man standing from the Doug Melvin era after todays trade.
  13. Can he still catch ? I like the idea of having a utility guy who can play 6 different positions plus be a third catcher , plus pitch in blow outs. And he has some speed to pinch run. I am in the minority but I like the idea of picking him up
  14. Makes me wonder if they have a trade for Tyrone Taylor they are looking at. Not that I care for this move but seems odd that they traded for a backup OF/1B.
  15. I have thought this for a few weeks. I think they will trade him, possibly package him up with Adames to the Dodgers.
  16. Better than Perkins, guessing Perkins gets sent down and maybe Taylor to the 60 day IL?
  17. I have not been this happy since the Brewers reacquired Russell Branyan.
  18. Let’s just take the accusation off the table for the moment. Is he a number 1 guy? Not on this team and I would argue not on most mlb teams…… in my opinion he is a well marketed version of Sonny Gray that is accused of having a toxic clubhouse personality . While he did earn a Cy Young , he did it in a short season in which he pitched 11 games. He agreed to sign a 100 million contract in a pitcher friendly park ( although his away stats looked good) . He has not pitched to major league hitting in almost 2 years and has not pitched a full season since 2019. Im not sold that he would be above average in 2023.
  19. Maybe this is how Boston fans felt when they traded Nomar for Orlando Cabrera and Doug Mientkiewicz……. I will be happy if a line drive is hit back to Rosenthal to end game 7 and he pockets the ball….of course if he is pitching in the 9th inning of game 7, I would say the train went way off the tracks somewhere.
  20. I know the Crew flies under the radar for the trade deadline….. A couple guys who I view as under the radar guys are Michael A Taylor ,who plays great defense and is having a decent season at the plate . He would also fit a glaring need in CF, plus I think he is relatively cheap for next year at 4.5 million….. another guy is Christian walker in Arizona. He has had a good season despite the low average . I could see him playing first and letting Rowdy DH…..
  21. Due to the love of the acquisition of middle infielders and our love of playing some of them out of position, We could go bargain bin shopping for Johnathan Schoop. The 6’1 247 lb slugger now plays 1st and looks to be better than most of our first baseman this year. Plus he could be 5th or 6th on the depth chart to play second base.
  22. I remember staying up late and watching Teddy Higuera give up a triple to Ross Jones. In 1988 it seemed like every pack of Topps cards I opened I got the dreaded Ross Jones rookie card.
