  1. Apparently really bad year for pitchers & year of the SS....
  2. Brewers Vs Braves A’s vs Indians Brewers vs A’s..... MLB & FOXs worst nightmare & I will love every second! Hope Yankees & Cubs choke wildcard. Dodgers & Red Sox in Division. Unlikely but the smaller markets in the spotlight would be amazing! ESPN probably won’t even talk more than 10 minutes about World Series if it’s Brewers & A’s.
  3. 2.36?in 293 is just unreal! Now you are excited if pitchers hit 200 IPs. You forget 300 IPs was a regular thing for TOR pitchers. Sheets in 2004 is one of my favorites! I was at the 18 K game & still my favorite game. I’ve been to some great ones like walking off DBacks to advance but just watch Sheets that day....wow
  4. Chacin, Miley, Davies, Gonzalez..... the staff every analysis had to dominate the way to division title!! Unreal what they did in September.
  5. I think with how much they use bullpen, even going 4 man rotation, they go 12 man bullpen. But then again, those bats are hard to cut out.... there will be some really solid players who miss out. Anderson just gives up too many homeruns to trust out there. He led MLB... not what you want in October.
  6. That is amazing. Think time period we grew up in plays role. I never got to see Yount. He came up when my dad was in high school & college where Braun came up and excelled when I was in high school college. My dad will take Yount 10/10 times, I take Braun. Experiencing the special season gives a bias. I still can’t get over the 10.5 WAR though. That has to be the best! Plus he lead them to WS which only makes it better.
  7. Cecil Cooper 1980 .352/.387/.927 25 HR 122RBI 6.8 WAR Ben Oglivie 1980 .304/.362/.925 6.5 WAR 41HR 118 RBI Sexto Lezcano 1979 .322/.414/.987 28HR 101RBI 5.6 WAR Paul Molitor 1987 .353/.438/1.003 16 HRs 75 RBI 45 SB 6.0 WAR Geoff Jenkins 2000 .303/.360/.948 36 HRs 91 RBI 4.7 WAR but was on really bad team.... more on here because I love Jenkins. Money & Cirrillo had a couple fantastic years but never slugged enough to really have a season in same category Braun has 33 SBs Yount 14 SBs Yelich 21 SBs
  8. Defensive WAR’s Yount 1.8 Yelich -0.4 Braun -0.4 Fielder -1.0 Fielder & Braun similar in terms of dWAR. Yount a 10.5 WAR for a season is pretty spectacular. What other giant seasons are we missing?
  9. Yeah I think Yount 82, Braun 12’, and Yelich 18’ are all very close. All around same age & lead their teams to the 3 greatest seasons in Brewer history (in my opinion at least). I wasn’t around for the Yount run but man the last two months have have brought back 11’ memories with the loud roars of MVP and just the greatness they showed in September. I think problem with Yelich is while he was real good in 1st half. He wasn’t elite like Braun was. Braun thrived all season. Was leading vote getter I believe as well. Braun 12’ & Fielder 09’ get hurt by not making playoffs
  10. During the game I thought the Brewers cheers were almost as loud as Cubs. I had my notes on the board and the game on our smart TV. The kids enjoyed watching during class Yeah 3 of us teachers had it on today in our middle school hall! It was exciting & kids where going wild the last 2 innings!
  11. Haven’t seen a real topic alone for it, but think it’s worth discussing. Where do you rank Yelich’s season in Brewer history? We know 2nd half was simply historic but as a whole looking at .326/ .402/ 1.000 36 HRs 110 rbis. 7.4 WAR..... where does it rank? Braun’s MVP season for example very similar. .332/.397/.994 33 HR 111 RBI, 7.7 WAR (age 27). Braun’s 2012 May have been even better. Yount in 1982 at 26 had redic 10.5 WAR & numbers that line up with both .331/.379/.957 29HR 114 RBI. His 82 MVP tops his 89’ MVP 2009 Prince was brilliant & hard to believe he only finished 4th but 46HRs 142 RBIs, .299/.412/1.014 but only 6.3 WAR Those are a couple that stand out to me. What you guys think?
  12. I’m not sure this is even the 2nd best this decade. I think it is deepest as a whole & maybe strongest bullpen. Going into playoffs with CC, Sheets, Gallardo & Bush then Greinke, Marcum, Yo, Wolfe yield much more confidence entering a game. 2011 was a great team & just exciting. Gomez, Lucroy, Braun, Fielder, Hart, McGehee, Weeks T- Plush. I love the grit, depth, & bullpen but with a rotation of backend arms doesn’t give me as much confidence. Chacin has been great but he’s not an elite guy. Anderson is best in league at giving up long ball. Davies is a guy who can be good or real bad based on command that night. Miley has been great but playing way above where he has been. No one guy gives you the confidence that we had with CC, Sheets, Yo, Greinke, or even Marcum (even though he sucked in playoffs)
  13. Kind of forget that DM & Gord Ash are still in front office roles..... are front office rather loaded
  14. Haven’t seen much talk bout it but .280/.310/.390 with .700 OPS in 42 games since August 1st for Arcia. Not setting world on fire by any means but gives a lot of optimism for rest of this season & next year. With his defense. .280 hotter & .700 OPS holds a ton of value!
  15. 15 more wins you mean
  16. Who is the other? Matt Arnold? As much as I would want Montgomery to stay, I would have to think he's a hot candidate and deserves an opportunity to be a GM. Matt Arnold I think is the top candidate but Brewers have 3 great ones under Stearns. Arnold was getting looks as GM even for the Brewer job before signing on as Assistant GM here. Really Stearns, Montgomery, & Arnold I believe (don’t quote me) were the top 3 choices at the end. Don’t sleep on Zach Minasian at all getting interviews. Baseball family, has skyrocketed his way up & done fantastic job.
  17. Yelich in lead for batting title with .320 & leading OPS. 4 off homerun lead, 13 RBIs off the lead.is right there in every major category
  18. This Yelich guy is a pretty solid player.... think I will go out on limb and give him MVP. Most IMPROVED Player Honestly, out of guys who were here last year. No one has really improved game or play. A lot of regression by some. I would have to go with Jeffress. He’s had great season & filled in as closer well. Most IMPORTANT Play: LoCain just from leadership, defensive, on bases, attitude, and outstanding season with the bat.... he is most irreplaceable to me. Love Yelich & he has carried team with bat but as talented as he is, he’s not on yet on Cain’s overall level. CY Young: Josh Hader.... no write up needed
  19. I wanted Baez so bad in that draft & he was mocked to us a ton. I was so sure he’d be a Brewer & heart dropped when he was stolen away by Cubs. The Ks & obp would bug me but I’d love him to be a Brewer.
  20. Graham Mertz era can’t come soon enough.
  21. Schoop messed up by starting cold. Guy could hit .500 with 1.200 OPS rest of way and we will still read how awful he is..... guy has been pretty darn productive after a really bad two weeks. Think it is something like .320 & .900+ OPS over past 20 game. Weird to me how that is considered so awful. If his 1st 20 games were this, think Schoop narrative would be a little different.
  22. Think that was the best part of comeback, his whole career the one knock is holding onto the ball. Other night, he got it out quick & let his arm play. Like Brady, being able to pick apart a team in pocket & getting ball out can be really productive thing. Personally, I don’t mind them not saying. I personally rather give him a week off over face a defense that is elite & gets a lot of hits on QB. We do need Jones back. Williams is a grinder who puts head down & runs hard but man his vision doesn’t really exist. A lot of cut back lanes other night missed. Jones offers that lightning & vision to hit those.
  23. Even if you look only at Villar's production as a Brewer he was better than Schoop has been. Your statement "Not great, but certainly an upgrade over either Villar" is not true about Schoop--especially when you view their production post-trade. Schoop sucks and the Brewers wasted talent and made their team worse by trading for him. No. Lol dude has like a .970 OPS since mid August doesn’t he? Doesn’t sound too awful
  24. Lefty, cross delivery, throwing 97.... that deception looks like 100+! Literally up in zone, hitters are just starting bat as it passes them
