Think Parker fits that description of we want. While is not naturally a stud on defense, he works hard at it and will continue to get better. As for passing, locker room, and leadership.... He is 100% perfect fit. He is a team first, unselfish, smart, no ego, hard working kid. Coaches dream to have that and he is perfect fit for Kidd and the Bucks. Only issue with Parker is athletically he matches up better against 4 but 4s are more physical than him....3s are as physical as him but too quick. With that said, he was really coming around playing the 4 and getting after the boards

Really like someone before just said, it takes awhile to learn to win. Most of these guys were on the worse Bucks team in history and the worst team in NBA last year....They were so bad they finished worse than a team that was actually trying to lose every game last year. That is the difference this season. They have played most of the top teams in NBA down to the wire and have just fell short. Any given night they can beat any team. They have beat good teams. I am actual more disappointed to that fact they have lost to bad teams more than they should have. This team is beat up but they keep battling. This team is a year or 2 away from being a big player in the East.

I'd hate a sign and trade and that will really set the Bucks back. Knight has been the heart and soul of this team and youth movement. He's still only 23 and he has proved enough to be part of the future. He works way too hard and has continued to improve every season. Working with Kidd will only make him continue to blossom
-
Honestly, at this point, I would not be shocked if Bucks make a Cinderella run. They are in the East soooo anything is possible! They can play with and beat anyone, any given night. Just imagine if they were healthy? Hopefully they can find a trade partner to move up or add an additional 1st round pick in June to keep youth movement moving forward. Like I knew coming in, Kidd is an excel coach and teacher and he has taken a team most of us thought would be improved but still a losing team into a maybe 4-6 seed team in the East. Only complaint I have had all season is the extremely low amount of playing time Henson has had compared to the high amount of minutes he should be playing.

Brewers In Serious Talks To Acquire Papelbon
Jenkins5 replied to narwhalattack's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Not a bullpen to have backing you up. Hopefully a bullpen with depth like thing would make RRR smart enough not to completely overuse and beat his back end guys arms to death. Figure if Henderson is back to form and Thornburg does what he is capable of doing, we are in very good shape. 9th Inning Papelbon 8th Broxton ® Smith (L) 7th Henderson - Thornburg (assuming both healthy) - Jeffress others in mix: Kintzler Blazek Willis Hellwig Jungmann Knebel Wooten Pena -
I love this trade and that is zero knock on Yo. He had a great career here and one of the very few homegrown pitchers who actually panned out in the last 10-15 years. With that said this is a great haul right now and very comparable to the Greinke trade. You have the young talented SS (Sergura) The big bullpen arm (Helwig) and the last piece is the only big difference. Pena is older and more advanced however, what a great move by Melvin to snag such a young talent arm Diplan. The system is well on it's way back up to where it needs to be! And it's been done the right way. Drafting high ceiling, boom or bust guys and making trades of expiring contracts to infuse more talent. Luis Sardinas is only going to be 22 and was pushed through the Rangers system very aggressively. I'd hope they let him develop more in AAA first. He reminds me of an Alcides Escobar except a little shorter. Flashy defender, collects hits, very under developed up physically (so thin rail). He is great insurance for both Sergura and Gennett. If either go down, he is right there, and if either is struggling he is right there. Sergura will hopefully bounce back and Scooter will just do what he has always done. Solid Utility guy to have available. The other big thing about Sardinas is that he has created a log jam at one of the most desired positions in the game. Sergura 24 (25) MLB Rivera 22 (23) AA/AAA Sardinas 21 (SS) AAA/MLB Arcia 20 AA Diplan helps a lot since of our big impact international signings have been all most all position players as of late (excluding Leal) Has ton of potential to develop in a talent pitcher. Knebel has the ability to be a big time player for the Brewers and that could be this year! Can never have to many talented power arms!

Lost for words about the Trout comment. He was the Brewers guy and was stole the pick before us. I can't really fault a team for not drafting a guy they wanted that was taken before they were up..... Bumgarner isn't a mistake. We got LaPorta who quickly became a top prospect in MILB and netted up CC Sabathia..... If we were going to list players that we missed picking in hindsight, that list would go on forever. If Mad Bum was so can't miss as well as Trout they would have been top picks in the draft instead of 10th and think 27th Brewers made a very outside of tradition aggressive bid for Abreu. If they were beat out on a bidding war on a guy who has never swung a bat in America before, so be it. It was not a sure fire thing Abreu would be this good -
I don't remember anything specific from BA about Medeiros, but remember to many he is a future reliever and one with strong splits no less. The BA person assigned to the Brewers is on their podcast (free) regularly. He usually bubbles excitement and looooooves Joey Gallo and this or that player. He saw Lopez once and his voice was kind of monotone and he was eh, nothing special, two pitches... future reliever. I'm not sure how different it is from other systems, but it seems like every top prospect list for the Brewers is significantly different. I interpret that as a lot of volatility. There are games where a pitcher just has it that night and you leave the stadium in love. Other times that pitcher may not have great stuff and you leave with a bad impression. Lopez has taken strides and continues to fill out to his projected body and arm. He was a young/ raw Puerto Rican star Volleyball player who was drafted based on his future projection. His arm is topping out at 94-95 now I believe. He still has a chance. AA this season will give us a lot better look at him and some of those other guys (Reed Taylor Roache, Arcia, Rivera unless bumped to AAA? and the rest of the group.

Gatewood is a young kid who could catch fire if he makes more contact. I saw that he has gone from 185 to 203 this offseason and is working very hard. What you have with him is a strictly boom or bust prospect. Either he will learn to see the ball, make contact, and be a major impact bat or he will be an all or nothing swinger who never lives up to the kid who has talented enough to be consider as a top pick. Lara came to Miller Park and took BP there and lit it up. Went to instructional ball and he tore it up. I forgot where I saw all the posts of how he was doing (twitter maybe). He most likely will be in Arizona to start year unless they feel he is not ready for the transition to America yet. Kodi wasn't impressive and was widely considered a reach by most. Not surprising he didn't crack it. If he comes out and preforms this year he will climb up.
-
He is a big body, a leader, has been a winner, solid big for filler time and good vet for the young guys. They have Zaza, Henson, and O'Bryant as the only big bodies who are available to play right now at 4 or 5.... unless you like Dudley, Middleton, Giannis, Marshall playing the 4 all the time against much bigger, stronger, more aggressive rebounders, then adding another big body until Sanders grows up and Ersan actually touches a court then I see why you don't see the gains. He has a 10 day contract and if Sanders and Ersan come back he is prob out after his contract expires. If they are not, he will get another 10 day contract until they are back

Throwing Nelson Cruz into Carlos Lee trade -
Brandon Knight has never been taught how to be a point guard until this season. You can already see his growth this season as a point guard since working with Kidd. Really is the heart of the team. He leads team in minutes by far, he sells him self out each night. He rebounds, passes (getting better), and is the guy with the ball in his hands at end of the game. Effort, explosiveness, and ability to get to the line are huge parts of his game. I can't stand the hate on his shot selection......it's as if we did not have to live with watching Brandon Jennings for as long as we did. Knight actually can shot and is asked to score since Giannis and Parker are not there yet. Middleton is not a go to guy. Mayo would most likely be the next scorer in line.
-
Anyone else curious as to why Jason Kidd doesn't play Henson at all? Youth movement, he is suppose to be part of our future...i am confused. Also can Ersan please just go already. Him and Dudley really have offered nothing except for experience.
-
Is it just me or is Orlando Arcia developing into a really, REALLY, good prospect?! Just think, if it had not been for his injury lost season, he could be 20 starting AAA....His power surge has been an incredible sight and I can def see his stock rising as a top MILB prospect, not just a Brewer prospect. I will not be surprised at all to see Arcia, Taylor, and Coulter Top a Top 100 list, or at least 2 of the three with Arcia or Taylor in top 50-60

Biggest thing from last night, this is the first time since I was a young kid following Big Dog and Ray Allen that I have been excited for the Bucks. They are a good team to watch and there is a lot to love about the teams make up. They have so much depth that is it actually more of a problem. To many talent guys that need minutes. My take aways from last night: I watched the first three quarters and it was great basketball. Sharing and protecting the ball, being aggressive and attacking on defense, and really they looked sharp. We got up 24 so I left to go get some food in the fourth quarter....came back and it was 1 minute left in regulation...they blew the lead. Brandon Knight for the first time in his career truly looked like not only a starting PG in the NBA (not a combo or SG) but a top tier type of PG. He attacked when he needed to attack, played pretty good defense, he was sharing the ball with great vision, he got to the line a bunch, and while he had a down shooting game overall he went 22 points 13 assist and 8 rebounds! He is so explosive and if he keeps improving his passing and at being a floor general, he very well could be our future at PG. Larry Sanders is back and I am so glad we didn't trade him. He is a building block for this team simply because of the presence he brings on defense. Offensively he continues to look better but his defense makes a huge difference. Middleton is becoming a very nice player. He as of right now it the guy they want for the last shot. He has best stroke on the team I think. Ersan and Mayo need minutes and both looked good in their time last night. They simply are guys you need to get going and show off. Both completely killed stock last season and neither I think are in the long term plan for future. Hopefully they can get us good return from a contending team. Kidd really wanted Dudley so he will be here all season. I'm fine with Giannis coming off bench as a 6 man however not a fan of Marshall, Giannis, Henson losing such a large amount of minutes to Bayliss, Dudley and Zaza. Like I said we are a really deep team however there are only so many minutes to go around. Walker was Walker last night, he has the clutch gene as we all have seen from his since college. Rebounding a awful. 15 offensive boards giving up is middle school like and we need our bigs to play bigger in that aspect.

Extremely sad, so young and talented :/ -
Yeah I also am from Fondy and coach/teach in Rosendale-Brandon school district. During football two years ago when the 49ers were in town, Trent came back to visit, talk to the team, and watch our freshman team play. It was great getting to hangout with him, talk to him and hear his amazing road to where is now. The guy was not working in sports at all and working in sewers at one point. He was a pretty talented player back in the 80's but nothing super special, a lower level college type. Congrats to Jeff!
-
Not a bad start for some Brewers in the first game: Nick Ramirez 2-4 With a HR, Single, RBI however did have an error Tyrone Taylor 1-4 with a triple and a walk Brooks Hall 1IP clean across the board in a scoreless inning Can't wait to see Coulter get some playing time and hopefully just mashes the ball like he did all season!

This team is extremely interesting how things will work out. I think they are very deep. I saw someone disagree with that because they are similar talent, but it my eyes that's what makes them deep. Guy 10-12 on bench are going to as solid and reliable as 6-8. That is not something they had last year. Injuries will not doom this team. Also I see absolutely zero way Parker and Giannis are not starting. They have talked strictly about focusing on their development. Owners, Hammond, Kidd will have serious backlash if Parker and Giannis are not starting. They are the 2 stars that fans and the nba want to see. They are the future and the building blocks to save this franchise. The Bucks understand there will be growing pains but they are will to let those two grow from it. They will be locks at either 4 and 3 or 3 and 2 (maybe even 4 and 1) depending on the lineup they go with every single night. Who makes this team C Sanders - Zaza C/PF Henson PF O'Bryant Wright Stretch 4 Parker - Illysova - Point Forward Giannis SF-SG Middleton - Dudley -Inglis Combo Guard Knight - Bayliss - Wolters SG Mayo PG Marshall There are 16 players, 15 can make team, 12 can be active Locks C Sanders C/PF Henson PF/SF Parker -Illysova SF Giannis - Middleton - Dudley SG Mayo - Bayliss PG Knight -Marshall Think Zaza, Wright, Wolters, Inglis, O'Bryant are all on bubble for that last active spot. -Wolter will have to have big camp with all the added depth at the guard position. -Wright won't make active team -O'Bryant or Zaza will get that last spot I believe. They could "Redshirt" O'Bryant and send him down to D-league -Inglis will miss almost all of camp and will prob be on IR to start out. He could us a redshirt year. If he would have waited a year to enter draft he would have possible been a lottery pick next season. *Illysova and Mayo have trade value they need to bring back up, that is their worth to the Bucks. Ersan is good and could help Parker out a lot. Great stretch 4 of the bench who should be a lot better than last season. Mayo dropp 15-20 lbs and should return to typical Mayo, not that awful one we saw last year. *Bucks went out and got Bayliss and Dudley so obviously they have something in mind for those two guys. *Marshall is who I am most excited for. He won't score but did Stockton drop 20 points a game? He is a true passer in the mold of Jason Kidd----who he can be molded by. I really like Knight, his energy, defense, and scoring but to have an elite passer who can give Parker- Giannis- Henson - Knight the best possible chance to score and excel is huge. Knight just doesn't have that natural feel at the point. He is a Westbrook attack and score PG, I think this team needs a true PG

Next draft class is a big C/PF draft at the top. Think you let Sanders play this season and then move him before the draft if they are in line to grab one of the big men down low
-
1) Tyrone Taylor 2) Orlando Arcia 3) Clint Coulter 4) Gilbert Lara 5) Devin Williams 6) Monte Harrison 7) Jorge Lopez 8) Kodi Medeiros 9) David Denson 10) Taylor Williams 11) Jacob Gatewood 12) Tyler Wagner 13) Hunter Morris 14) Jed Bradley 15) Victor Roache 16) Michael Reed 17) Taylor Jungmann 18) Nick Ramirez 19) Chris McFarland 20) Tucker Neuhaus 21) Yadier Rivera 22) Sthervin Matos 23) Carlos Benlonis 24) Cameron Garfield 25) Nick Delmonico

Zaza plays C which takes away time from Sanders and developing C/PF combo guys Henson and O'Bryant Ersan takes away development time from all PF/SF's including Henson, O'Bryant, Parker, Giannis, Inglis, Middleton Delfino takes away time from Giannis, Middleton, Parker, Inglis, Knight, Wolter Mayo takes away time from Giannis, Inglis, Middleton Knight, Wolter He isn't saying we need to spend our season showing these guys in order to trade them, he means this season we need to trade some of the guys not in our teams future plans. It is great to have these guys as vets to help young guys out but they are competitors and most likely don't want to ride the bench.... that will just cause rifts in the locker room such as it did last year which is absolute poison to a young team. I think Delfino and Zaza could stay and fill those vet roles but Ersan and Mayo are still very competitive players who could help another team out....we need to get picks or other young future prospects for those guys
-
I've seen power rankings that have the Bucks around 20-23 already. Most experts are really fasenated with the young core of the Bucks and really if they keep Mayo/Ersan/ Delfinio, and Jabari and Giannis both play way they are capable of (considering they at both 19) The Bucks could really surprise people this year. Most important, they are doing it the right way. I personally love the depth except with some of the additions, I believe we do need to clear some room. Henson has put on 20-30lbs which is huge for him and his career. This should allow him to play 5 better without being pushed around as much. I don't think Sanders should go anywhere. He works hard in the clubhouse with Giannis and and some of the younger guys and offers a ton defensively. He can be exciting on that end of floor. Middleton and Knight showed worth last year. Wolter I don't think will ever be much more than end of bench guy but worth continuing to develop. I think O'Bryant is a lock due to his toughness and ability to score down low. Inglis I hope makes it and has the role Giannis had to start last year (develop in NBA/garbage time) C Sanders Pachulia Raduljica Power 4's (C/PF) Henson O'Bryant Stretch 4's (PF-SF) Parker Illysova Wright Point Forward Giannis SF Middleton Delfino Inglis SG Mayo Combo Guard Knight Bayliss Wolter PG Marshall As you can see, 2 things 1)Kidd as an incredible amount of flexibility to work with 2)Tough decisions on the roster will need to be made soon I think with Kidd as the head coach, Marshall is the dream point guard for the team. A 6'4 floor general who is completely unselfish and was considered the best pure passer in a decade which he put on display last season in LA. Forget the unique/rough road to the point he took over in LA, guy will get the most and cause Giannis, Parker, Henson to all thrive. I like Knight but he does not have the vision, natural passing ability, and floor general it factor that Marshall does. He is a Ramon Session Combo Guard and Bucks are better off playing him more at 2.
