  1. Win-Loss Record: 11-7 3-2 NLDS 4-2 NLCS 4-3 WS Highest Playoff Level Achieved: WS Champs Offensive MVP: Ryan Braun Pitching MVP: Jeremy Jeffress Most Surprising Player: Orlando Arcia Most Disappointing Player: Corey Knebel Arcia has at least 1 game winning hit in him. Go big or go home baby, WS champs! This is probably more of an optimistic hope than what I actually think, probably more likely we lose in the WS if we get there to one of those AL powerhouses. But I reserve the right to predict however I want.
  2. I'd expect Arcia and Yelich in there, probably for Granderson and Saladino. I wouldn't want to give Arcia an extended off days. He's been playing most days lately, and his at bats are so much better than they were 3 months ago. He's slashing 263/298/361 in the 2nd half. I'm not going to say that's good, but it's worlds better than where he was and completely stomachable considering the defense he brings. Notably he isn't swinging at so much crap, only 9 ks in his last 66 AB over the last 28 days. Yelich is more of a hunch, that guy is so on fire right now...I suspect CC will ask him if he wants to play, and I would expect he'll play for maybe 2 AB before giving way to Granderson. We'll see though, as I noted above I think the Sunday game is going to be huge. I'm personally expecting the Brewers to be up a game on the cubs heading into Sunday. Brewers 2-0 and the Cubs 1-2. Here's hoping. But yeah for the most part this is spot on, even down to having Lyles pitch. Him, Guerra, or maybe Woodruff...though I'd expect Woodruff has pitched his way onto any DS and beyond roster.
  3. I would be surprised if it was meaningless. For either team to have a 2 game lead heading into Sunday would be surprising to me considering where it is now. You'd need the Cubs to go either 2-1 or 3-0 while the Brewers go 0-2 or 1-1 respectively...or for the Cubs to go 0-3 while the brewers go 2-0. The most likely of those based on recent play and matchups is probably the cubs going 0-3 and the brewers 2-0, but I honestly can't imagine the cubs losing 3 straight right now. Even with their pitching struggles, that offense is bound to win one for them.
  4. I don't know, but the fact that the brewers are doing it for all series and not just any potential cubs matchup makes me think it might be more widespread...but just guessing.
  5. I tend to agree. Sellers may be more apt to panic and drop their prices significantly to ensure at least some profit and that they don't get stuck with the extra tickets. I like the theory behind what they are trying to do, but again this is a bit of an attack on elderly people or people that don't have easy access to a phone or printer. And I'm sure there will be at least a dozen yahoos that have a phone die on them while in line to get in the stadium. And some Cubs fans will still find their way in. I have to assume the ratio will be much more favorable to Brewer fans though. I can't imagine Cubs fans getting their hands on 3/4 of the tickets like they generally seem to. And on people that legitimately had something come up and can't go. Or bought extra and turns out others couldn't go. For example, I bought 4 for every game not knowing who will be available to go with. could easily turn out due to being midweek night games that I have two extra here or there. But now it's difficult. Those are good points, but you'd still have time to post and have some sell in that 6 hour window. There will easily thousands of people on stubhub at any given moment looking at tickets for the playoff games. In this case there will simply be less putzing around trying to find the best value and more swift action. I'm genuinely very curious how this ends up playing out, like snapper...I'll be monitoring stubhub out of curiousity.

  7. My rep had told me she anticipated the tickets/barcodes would be available around 6 hours prior to game. That window might shorten if we face the Cubs. She didn't really have a definitive answer on it though, but just an fyi for everyone buying tickets.
  8. Not only that, you should see what's available on the secondary market. I wanted to go Friday, but Terrace tickets went from $25ish last night to around $40 now with the fees. Bleachers are like $60 and any good seat is going to be like a playoff ticket. And there really aren't even that many of those seats available, maybe 1,000 tickets or so to each of Friday and Saturday. The demand is seriously off the charts for a non-cub regular season game.
  9. Can you imagine if on the hard swipe tag...the ball had flung out of Kratz glove? I was half expecting it when I saw it live...lucky play
  10. Is anyone else curious why Carpenter leads off in that lineup? Wouldn't it make way more sense to do something like Martinez, Osuna, Carpenter, Gyorko, Molina, De Jong, Wong, Bader, P? Splits the lefties way better, you avoid having a string of 5 straight RH hitters against a RH pitcher. Seems super obvious to me. Even if not that lineup, somethign like that with Carpenter hitting 2nd or 3rd instead of 1st. I would personally start Bader in the leadoff spot and have Carp bat in the 2 hole. Fair enough. One way or another, move carpenter down and stagger the lefties a bit more so you don't have 5-6 RH bats in a row against a RHP

Even if not that lineup, somethign like that with Carpenter hitting 2nd or 3rd instead of 1st. While it likely isn't a big deal... Carpenter has significantly better numbers out of the lead off spot. I'm sure he'd settle in at 2-4, but he "seems" more comfortable batting lead off. Maybe that's a thing, but I doubt it. Much more likely that one day in April everything "clicked" and he started raking. I would think it's easier to face 5 RH hitters in a row than 2 or 3 and have to adjust to a lefty. By the 2nd RH batter, you'd think that RH pitcher is locked in with his slider just off the outside corner...just shredding RH hitters.

  13. It's been time for about a month now to swap Braun and Aguilar in this lineup. I doubt it happens at this point.
  14. Sabathia, as good as Yelich has been...it really isn't all that close in my opinion.
  15. Agreed. 3-1 is probably the minimum record we can have the next 4 games and win the division outright. The cubs would have to go 2-3 over that span to not tie or beat us. Not a single one of those 5 games is going to be easy for the cubs though. They'll have to earn every win.
  16. I'd go Jacob Barnes if he's available. I don't think Albers shoudl touch the ball until we score 20.
  17. I feel like they must have consulted Maddon on that decision. I didn't know anyone else would be so stupid...
  18. It's actually a fairly reasonable take. This feels like karma caused by the Larussa years.
  19. I'll also add, nothing Carpenter said or did seemed to warrant an ejection. He was super calm, especially initially...just had a conversation. That was a very very quick trigger. But again, I feel zero remorse for the Cardinal way...
  20. I almost always agree...except against the Cardinals. Even the Cubs I don't like seeing a Bryant or Rizzo tossed, but the Cardinals can eat it...that organization is a bunch of pricks.
  21. How bad he was as a player? How much it hurt to take a foul tip of the mask? My favorite is when a guy gets hit by the ball... "that's the best it's gonna feel all night". Like clockwork
  22. I only agreed with that decision because he got a hit, otherwise it would have been dumb. Straight monday morning QB over here...
  23. What's is this "zone" you speak of? -Jonathan Schoop I really did have to say something didn't I?
