    He didn’t. In 1976, Yount’s age 20 season, he only hit 2 HR all season.

    I’m not sure what this is getting at with the comparison to Yount. Yount did not have 3 HR in his first 13 games in MLB.

    That HR eases the frustration from only getting one run off 5 hits and a walk from the first 9 batters.

    Good road trip and good series, but 17 AB with RISP without an RBI is frustrating.

    So, it’s a four inning game now with Burnes out. I would have taken that starting the day, but I’m still lamenting the missed opportunities.

    Brewers are 2 for 13 with RISP and the 2 hits were a bunt and infield hit that didn’t drive in runs. Plenty of missed opportunities, though at least they got 3 runs and drove Burnes out of the game.

    Three miserable ABs with runners on second and third and nobody out.

    That rarely works, but I’ll take the run.

    I like Contreras second because he gets on base a lot and can advance a leadoff runner by hitting to right. Hoskins with his DP and base clogging potential is more of a number 5 hitter for me.

    If he’s not going to wear a cap, I hope for his sake that Ripken puts a lot of sunscreen in the top of his bald head.

    If you saw my earlier post I was questioning having Contreras and Hoskins hitting 1-2 instead of having at least the chance of someone being on base for their first AB’s.. Going forward in the game it makes less difference with Perkins in front of them instead of Wiemer.

    I like home runs and doubles with men on base even more.

    Having Contreras and Hoskins 1 and 2 is kind of odd to me instead of having someone with more speed (Frelick or Perkins or Turang or Ortiz) at the top with the others in position to advance them or drive them in. If Burnes is on he could really pile up the Ks with Hoskins, Sanchez, and Wiemer to feast on for starters.
