  1. As soon as Nottingham hit that ball I thought it was a DP.
  2. Isn't Gyorko away from the team. He was on the bereavement list, but I thought he had returned. He played Friday.
  3. I’m not sure what frustrates me more. When the hitters swing at bad pitches or when they can’t put the hittable hanging pitches in play.
  4. Taylor and Nottingham should be easy Ks. It will be up to Gamel. I would almost take a DP as long as they concede the run.
  5. That whole bottom 5 is a joke except that Urias is a legitimate low part of the order hitter. But Arcia batting 5th and Peterson, Taylor, and Nottingham anywhere isn’t going to get you much against anyone, much less one of the league’s top pitchers.
  6. Where are you? In Milwaukee it’s on FM 94.5 because of a conflict with the last Bucks game of the year.
  7. Hiura is not real quick getting down the line.
  8. Kind of like extra innings starting with a man in second. In the future I think the Brewers should give Hader Saturday nights off.
  9. It is not an AB and does not affect OBP or BA. But it does count as a plate appearance for qualifying for a batting title.
  10. The batter is not charged with a time at bat, but I don’t think he gets credit for anything for OBP purposes.
  11. Remember when people thought the string of games against the Pirates, Reds, and Tigers would be the Brewers’ chance to make a move above .500.
  12. Hauser’s had some bad luck, but you have to finish off a guy batting under .200. Good night.
  13. Big mistake. Even if the runner on third had broken for the plate and scored they’d basically be out of the inning with one run. Now the big inning is still in order.
  14. I don’t know what lasting effects from that injury would completely derail a career. Has there been instances where guys never bounced back from that? They haven’t said anything about it, but it was pretty apparent that he wasn’t 100% in spring training because he didn’t start appearing in games right away. Then whatever plan he had to get ready for the season was thrown out the window. Then 4 months before the summer camp and he was completely out of whack. I’m going to tell myself that with a full offseason of work without having to rehab the injury and then (hopefully) a normal spring training and he will be back in form next season.
  15. That’s the second time today I’ve seen a player strike out on a pitch that hit him in the foot. Someone on the Cardinals did it to end their 6 run first inning against the Reds.
  16. that's why we post those in blue, I have been on this board too long and it is plausible that some would actually want to see if he get some miller park magic back. I guess I don’t post here enough to know the protocol. I think Santana could be the spark that propels the Crew to the World Series
  17. A pretty good indication of how Stearns evaluates the chances of this team accomplishing anything this year.
  18. I should have flown the sarcasm flag higher.
  19. Indians have designated Domingo Santana for assignment. Maybe the Brewers should try to get him. He’d fit right in with the journeyman approach.
  20. A significant part of my disappointment with Woodruff has been his inability to get deeper into games. I want my best starter to go more than 5 innings, and he hasn’t been able to do that often enough. Going deep into a game is essentially an impossible task when Craig Counsell is your manager. Maybe it’s because of the disjointed training leading to the season, but last year Woodruff had a stretch of 12 games in which he went 6 or more innings in 11 of them and went 7 or 8 several times. He isn’t coming close to that now.
