  1. At least it took them until the fourth thinning to put this one away.
  2. Durbin cannot be a regular 3B. Between bobbling the ball and his noodle arm he’s tuned two routine plays into bang bang plays at first.
  3. This team isn’t going to win many games with Chourio, Contreras, and Yelich all doing nothing. They all look completely lost at the plate.
  4. I get the joke, but I know exactly where Counsell’s house in Whitefish Bay is, and while it’s a nice house in a nice neighborhood it is hardly a mansion.
  5. MerciFully, my Apple TV feed went out. Maybe the censors wouldn’t allow showing a live lynching.
  6. Hearing the Cubs fans roar on that lead off single reminds me how glad I am that we exchanged our tickets for tomorrow night for a game in July.
  7. I’ll be relieved if and when the Brewers win a game in this series. i’m afraid the Brewers pitchers won’t be able to contain the Cubs high-powered offense well enough to give the offense a chance.
  8. Maybe send Yoho to Louisville and hope that the Reds bring him up to face the Brewers.
  9. This weekend could be brutal. I’m concerned about what the Cubs offense, which has racked up a ton of runs while playing the toughest schedule in Mlb might do to the Brewers staff. And the Brewers sure aren’t equipped to compete in a slugfest , especially with hitters like Yelich, Chourio, and Contreras all struggling. Gifts in the form of walks and shoddy defense have masked how bad the Brewers hitters have been in this series.
  10. The Sox agree. Sets them up for a rare win.
  11. So much for the Brewers being great in the late innings in this series.
  12. If the Brewers’ goal is to get home early tonight, they’re doing a good job.
  13. Another thing that Levering does frequently that bugs me is when he harps on a Brewer being “robbed” of a hit by an opposing player. I don’t consider it a “robbery“ when a fielder makes a play that a major leaguer should make. And to me that catch by Robert in the first inning falls in that category. Even if the ball might have cleared the wall if nobody had been there, I think the vast majority of competent major league centerfielders would have caught it.
  14. Chourio looks to be pulling off everything .
  15. You triggered one of my pet peeves. A player cannot get “beaned”in the bicep. Beaning refers to getting hit in the head. A player might get “plunked” or “drilled” in the arm, but it is not a beaning.
  16. Might be time to bench Chourio on my fantasy team again. When I did it last week he had two big games in St. Louis and I got a few hits out of him when I put him back on Sunday. Back to the black hole this week.
  17. Not off to a good start. The Cubs might still lose today, but it won’t be to Skenes, who was off from the outset today as he was walking batters despite some generous calls. He escaped a bases loaded jam (all walks) in one inning when a smash was turned into a DP, but his luck ran out in the fifth as he surrendered 3 HRs in 4 batters and he is done for the day.
  18. It’s getting to the point with Yelich that I’m expecting him to go on the IL soon because his back is acting up.
  19. Will this be the first game the Brewers win when giving up more than 3 runs?
  20. Nice bounce back from from Peralta after that ugly first Really need a sweep against the Sox with the cubs coming up.
  21. Just as well to get it over with. They weren’t going to win 3 straight and even if they had done that they would have been demolished by Cleveland.
  22. It’s channel ,1310 in Milwaukee if you want to watch Ace Peralta serve up BP to the mighty Pale Hose
  23. What I was addressing was your comment that he is the third in Brewers history to start 4-0. Yes, his record is 4-0, but I’m sure several other Brewers pitchers have started a season 4-0. As you stated later, he’s the third to be 4-0 in his first 4 Brewers starts.
  24. Just to be clear, that’s 4-0 in the pitcher’s first 4 starts in a Brewers uniform, not 4-0 to start the season. ETA I see you clarified this as I was posting.
