  1. Brewers love doubles…and double plays.
  2. They said on TV that Taylor was in the original lineup. I wonder what happened to him. BTW, for anyone who has mlb.tv, have they eliminated the blackouts? When I scroll through the channels looking for a game to put on the Brewers games have been on.
  3. Now trying to find Tim Johnson
  4. Request for someone with a ready supply of images to provide one of BJ Surhoff.
  5. If so I’ll be celebrating in a pub in London. I would appreciate it if they could wrap it up over the weekend so I can ignore the games that start at 1 in the morning.
  6. For an old guy who’s had a lot of injuries Donaldson still looks like he knows what he’s doing at 3B
  7. Canha with what I like to call a grand slam double.
  8. I hate these games that finish in the rain. The game can be decided by a pitcher or fielder who has trouble gripping the ball.
  9. Very appropriate showing him against the team for which he played on 3 World Series winners. While his tenure as Brewers GM was not very successful, his signing with the Brewers as a free agent in 1977 gave the Brewers organization some credibility that opened the door to their success in the following years.
  10. Someone has to have a good picture of Sal Bando (Captain Sal) who passed away earlier this year.
  11. Maybe not a legend, but I loved that he liked it here so much that he kept coming back.
  12. The one that gets me is the MLB TV ad featuring the Nico Horner walkoff: “Cubs win, Cubs win.”
  13. 64 Phillies I was around at the time and remember how shocking that collapse was. Baseball historians might enjoy this video. I went to college near Philly a few years later, and I can tell you that Phillies fans were as traumatized by 1964 as Cubs fans were by their collapse in 1969. When the Phillies got competitive again in the mid 70’s they were so “phatalistic” that they kept holding their breath until the magic number reached 0.
  14. What were the Phillies odds with 12 games to go in 1964? I have no problem waiting until it’s official to pop the champagne corks.
  15. I think you would be wrong.
  16. I wonder what it would have been like to be a fan of the Phillies in 1964?
  17. Like Wainwright, Rom had a good start against the Orioles last week.
  18. The Cardinals might be a crappy team with crappy pitching in general, but they seem to know how to get the Brewers out. 7 games against them this season and the Brewers have scored just 14 runs and have been shut out 3 times. Whoever they throw out to the mound the Brewers have trouble scoring. With 6 more games left against them the Brewers better figure something out.
  19. There were the 2 against the Reds in the games before and after the ASB. I think those are the only 2.
  20. Non existent offense for the 4th time in 9 games.
  21. Wainwright flashing a big middle finger to all of those posters who have made fun of him all season: ”I might be washed up but I can still shut down this sorry a** lineup.”
  22. Should have known Viera would be “hurt”. It’s nearly impossible for a guy to throw 2 innings and emerge healthy.
  23. 18-1 games don't really bother me when the Brewers lose or impress me when they win. They have the same impact as a loss of about 8-1 where the team just loses and sends a few pitchers (or maybe a position player) out there to absorb the beating. Games like yesterday or last Sunday bug me more.
