Agree hot bats need to play. Broxton and Santana starting to get hot so I'm ok with them playing over Brinson. Brinson has looked overmatched which isn't surprising first time up. Hopefully Braun back quickly so Brinson can get back to playing daily at AAA.

Would assume early in count most are looking for an exact pitch in an exact spot. If they don't get it they let it go, even if it's a hitable pitch.

Rock: Don't have the third deck in minor leagues. Never thought of it, but probably does affect a newly called up outfielder once in a while.

Thanks for starting thread. Was hoping Brinson would be in lineup, but will settle for a likely pinch hit opportunity later. Gives me a reason to stay up.

I always gravitate to Opponents Batting Average when the stats come up on TV. Seems to be a true stat for relievers when others can be skewed. Barnes coming in with .079 OBA is just silly.

Nice quick inning by Hughes. Maybe get a second inning out of him? Have to think it would most likely be 5 innings from Espino at most tomorrow.

It's a luxury having a bench with guys putting up the kinds of numbers that our bench guys are. Aside from Franklin everyone is putting up starter like offensive numbers. You really can't complain about what anybody is doing off of the bench ...and who has to pinch hit with 2 outs and a runner at second. Almost would have preferred to see Nerd Power face the lefty.
