    Story on ESPN says that NBA owners are looking at mid to late June as the best possible scenario for a return. NBA can probably ramp up a little faster than MLB pitchers can get ready. I would think that July and an 82 game season might be the best case scenario for MLB.

    I thought the state shutdown starts Wednesday? It starts on Wednesday night, I think it's officially 5:00 or 5:30 PM. Schools can still be in session on Wednesday.

    Couple points since there is a school staff portion of the thread. We are going M-W with staff reporting Thurs and Fri. The state has not said that they would lower the minutes requirement yet, to essentially waive the lost time. Hence, it’s tough to make staff report all the off days. If you bring the staff in every day, and the state happens to make the time be made up, then your going over your contracted days and would have to pay an over load. It’s not likely the state makes all the time be made up, but without them officially announcing it, schools almost can’t risk that expense. You will get time off until the state announces a shorter year is officially allowed. Online learning only counts toward your minimum minutes requirement if all students are accommodated. That means all special ed IEP accommodations are met for every student. Rural or high poverty districts have no chance of meeting that. Some students don’t have internet access at home, and special ed accommodations are almost impossible to meet online. Your district can essentially offer enrichment online, but required and graded material online gets real far into grey area. Some private school populations would work. Very very few public districts can meet full online requirements for all students.

    WIAA now also announced boys and girls basketball state tournaments will be played without spectators. Only enough allowed in from each team to cover family.

    Rudy Gobert openly mocked the virus and intentionally touched everything around him after a press conference. Even touched all the microphones that were in front of him. And now he has it.... ain't that a dose of karma

    For those of you lucky enough to be in AZ for spring training.... Has the virus impacted how much players are interacting with fans at ST? I know it's typically a great time to get a lot of autographs, etc. I was curious if the teams have instructed players to avoid those situations to limit the person to person contact with random fans.

    This quote was in an article on the Brewers website. “I was pretty good last year, too. I just didn’t get any opportunity,” Morrison said. “When I did play every day in the Minor Leagues, I was really good. When you get one [at-bat] a night and you get a start every month, it’s kind of tough to get your timing down.” That just seems like him making the roster as the 26th man isn't really in his plans either. If he ends up being our 26th guy, he's going to get 1 AB per night and a spot start here and there. If he was complaining about that type of role last year, I doubt that is what he takes this year. I don't see a path to him playing more than that really.

    Your using early spring training ERA as a reason to eat 4 million in salary and lessen our SP depth? Also assuming that veteran pitchers don’t work on things early in spring seems like a stretch. Guys don’t develop their stuff the first couple years and then just ride it out the rest of their career. I love Peralta but he was far from outstanding last time out.

    I think this team still needs a second star to be a title contender. To me, Middleton just isn’t a #2 on a title team. They are crazy deep which gains them a lot in the regular season, but gets kind of exposed in the playoffs when rotations shorten up.

    As long as I can remember. No reason to risk any injury to a pitcher batting in ST. Plus it gets a few more AB for a position player.

    The first time they are putting out a line up that is mostly actual starters. Cain Smoak Yelich Hiura Narvaez Garcia Holt Gyorko Mathias BTW... I was today years old when I realized it was Narvaez instead of Navarez...

I know Counsel hinted at this in one interview I saw, kind of saying he had a lot to prove and to get confidence back. However, if he keeps dominating the way he has he will really make it hard to keep him off the roster. I honestly don't like the looks of the rotation without him or Freddy, but think they may start the year that way. I feel like they will both be in the rotation by the all star break.

    I saw a cartoon yesterday that was a Halloween costume couple with one "Coronavirus" and one "Limes Disease" holding hands.... Not to totally downplay an world wide health issue... but it made me laugh.

    I don't honestly think this will be a big deal in the regular season. He will come in to face a lefty or two where he can get to the end of an inning. To me it will become a bigger deal in September and especially in the playoffs where managers seem to try to work match ups a lot more than they do in the regular season.

    Missing the floor stretching of Korver against a team who have made an effort to protect the rim. Miami also just real hot from deep. Bucks hanging around though.
