  1. Plesac has gotten much better over the year, but the name issues are driving me crazy. They just referred to the Nationals catcher as Grandal... who’s not even catching for us tonight.
  2. I never said it was. Of course it wasn't where it was supposed to be. Low fastballs are literally the only thing Gonzalez hits well, and Hader put it in his bread basket. I just don't understand how so many pitchers on one staff suddenly lose their command. The weird part is go back and rewind to the HR. That pitch hit exactly where Pina put the glove. He maybe moved his glove down 2 inches to catch it, but essentially that is where he set the target. To say it missed by 5 feet is totally off. You don’t put the target somewhere you don’t want the pitch.
  3. Hader with runners on just made no sense. He misses your down 2, which happened. Albers misses it most likely only a tie game. Stick with the ground ball pitcher with runners on.
  4. The three really good relief appearances right before the trade. Stearns doesn’t believe in the whole small sample size thing. In 95 career relief innings Pomeranz has a 2.84 ERA. The sample is larger than three outings. Also, he was available for a player the organization seemed to view as expendable. Yea, that was mostly sarcastic, but did not realize he had that many relief appearances. Think they feel Black has a chance at a real high ceiling as well.

  6. I put my kid to bed and offense happened. Holy Batman! Now I gotta figure out the TiVo thing on the new cable....
  7. Playing Hiura for his bat is balanced out a little if you play Arcia as a plus defender with plus range. Playing Hiura and Perez next to each other is death if they don’t hit. Perez an ok defender but not huge range.
  8. Cain watches him walk Anderson and thinks man, I better ambush the first pitch or I might not get anything close enough to the plate to swing at??? Probably seems worse than it is, but sure seems like we would lead the league in 1 pitch AB.
  9. I just got back home from the game, long day. Had a good time despite the missing offense and loss. My biggest observation from the day: Paper Straws... NO.... just NO. That has to be the dumbest idea in the history of ideas that have caught on enough to be at a ball park.
  10. I oddly feel like Arcia is getting treated similar to Villar. Is he productive? Not really. Are they starting less productive guys over him at times? Yes. Perez I get against lefties. But seems like him and Saladino have been forced a bit at times. They don’t produce better than Arcia and have less range.
  11. Just posted Cain Hiura Moustakas Braun Grandal Pina Grisham Perez Lyles
  12. My first game of the year, and first game ever for my 4 year old. We have about a three and a half hour drive down. We usually get down before this though, just been a busy summer. Was hoping Yelich would be back, he’s my son’s favorite player by far. We’re about halfway down now, hopefully getting ready to see the sweep.
  13. Burks reported to have a torn pectoral muscle. If so that puts Summers and Jones in more of a spotlight and may allow a guy like Sheldon to possibly make the roster out of camp. Guessing Summers gets base duties and Jones plays a lot of dime LB.
  14. That was real odd pitch selection. Trying to come down and in with a 80 mph fastball to a power hitting lefty...
